There is just something about this whole performance that is so moving. Red Hot really had the musical energy flowing that night. I watch the whole concert sometimes when I'm feeling down. Its so relieving.

These John's solos speak to me. They tell me how much sorrow and pain he went through when he was at the lowest point in his addiction, physically, mentally, and spiritually. The first solo was short and blunt, the second one was longer and painful, and the last one was almost death itself. Mind blowing. I'm crazy.

This is a proof that you don't have to play extremely fast...You just need to play the right notes to make somebody appreciate your song. I like listening to these solos with my eyes closed..just enjoying it.

PotatoHead Although Hillel was the RHCP original guitarist, John Anthony Frusciante was born to be The RHCP Guitarist. Arik Marshall, Dave Navarro and Josh Klinghoffer did it very good (one of my RHCP favorite albums was one in which Frusciante was not there), Frusciante is the missing part in this puzzle called Red Hot Chili Peppers. BSSM, Californication, BTW and Stadium Arcadium confirm what I just wrote above.

He was on fire that evening. He stole the show on every song, just listen to the solo on Parallel Universe, it was a beauty. I wish I had been there. Maybe someone can think of a better performance but, as far as Im concerned, this is the ultimate RHCP concert.

John and Flea are better than any musical duo out there. When they stand face-to-face on stage and and have a jam session it’s so pure. People practice for hours to recreate what they made up on the spot. Beautiful.
this is my favorite Chili Peppers song. the lyrics, vocal melody, instrumentation all just hit so perfectly. John Frusciante and Flea really are 2 of the best musicians of all time at their respective instruments. Anthony sounds amazing here too, and Chad providing the backbone as usual.
When them 4 get together magic is created. Just raw emotion.

I was thinking (and feeling) about this exactly now. Scar Tissue changed my life as a teenager and made me appreciate music for the first time when I saw the music video in MTV in 1999 - and for that reason I can relate to it as the favorite music of my life. From that moment on, RHCP became my favorite band forever. 4 years later, this version was released and I simply cannot express into words the feelings it brought the first time I heard it - and still can't do it after God really knows how many times. The live version from Poland 2007 comes really close, but recently it was topped by the Curitiba-Brazil version, 2023 - just because I was there on the front row watching my favorite band for the first time :)

As a guitarist, I don't know how to express it but Frusciante's playing is blessed by the gods. This guy, his story...the notes he plays don't sound like the others, there's so much emotion in it.
