I felt like I had to address this after what happened on my live stream. Just to clarify as well for non sim racers, the 'cheat' that all these people use is basically hacking the game to have a combination of more grip/less tyre wear/lighter car/more acceleration etc etc etc. Anything to give just a slight advantage at top level is huge. Thankfully in most cases you can tell (like this one) when bad driving is rewarded, something is not right. Also don't send hate to this guy. Thanks for watching guys :D
I've been racing against this guy basically every day on LFM GT4. Me and my teamate were noticing that strange brake behaviour. Happy that he finally got what he deserved but i'm really angry that he managed to win prizes and recognition this unfairly. Also the tyre deg factor was very obvious. In GT4 LFM Series he was making the fastest lap on the last 2 laps og the race, his pace was basically the same trough all the race. Thank you for showing that, hopefully kunos will see that and focus on anticheats for the next title
I don't want to defend Tobias here as I know cheats are possible on pc. But I do want to say the following. Tobias is on a pad and has been on ACC probably as many, if not more hours than you. The difference? He switched to PC about 1.5 years ago because he was completely obliterating all console competition. There would be the occasional person who could get close, but overall he basically won every event he would enter. So that leaves me with the following questions: Is he the only one who figured out how to cheat on console, because cheats that can be implemented into the game on PC is simply not possible on a console. Is there a way of cheating on console which we (me) aren't aware of? Or is he just very good with what he does and could there be a driving style accepted by ACC when the inputs are set to controller? I broke my braking pedal couple months ago, to compensate I assigned the brake to a button on my wheel. And although I can't trailbrake (and I deffenitly lock up faster) I am not losing as much time as I expected. You can check out my twitch (klorpte789) to see how I brake. But could it be possible, that when a controller is plugged in, the steering under the full braking is somewhat more accepted? I have no clue, but this seems like a weird cheat to have and you would expect cheats to be more in the form of no fuel consumption/tyre wear (so lighter car no long pitstops needed) maybe a grip hack indeed. But this braking almost seems like somekind of work around to me. Like I said, I don't wanna justify it, and it could be well possible he cheats, I am just saying, he was this fast already before he joined pc.
Adding to it, when you don't trail brake, and you have a loose rear setup, you can rotate the car very quickly by implementing 100% braking and quickly releasing. I can not handle that driving style as I will loose the rear with that, but maybe this could be what he does?
@@klorpte789 the problem is that even if the braking is legit there are many other thing not right, for example in one race on Barcellona GT4 on LFM i was 2° behind my teammate and we were pulling away, at some point we were feeling tyre consumption but he wasnt, he was still lapping as his tyres were new. After the race we saw the replay, he managed to do the fastest lap at the end of the race missing 2 apex in 2 corners and end up winning the race (He was 10 seconds behind us) So even IF he was legit on the braking side he still uses cheat for increasing his grip and for cancelling tyre wear
@@klorpte789 If you check 12:59 of the video he claims to be using a wheel and pedals. Also one of the claims I made at 9:06 was about his tyre wear as well. Agreed, he seems relatively quick and competent, but nowhere close for the times he is producing. The motec data also is very telling.
Wow... hearing the news of his ban and watching this video really 'hits home' for me. I've raced against this person over 50 times in LFM GT4... finishing a very distant 2nd to him in about half those races. I often watched replays or simply watched him on the LFM practice server set blistering lap times and I knew something was not right there if it be intentional or not. With that said; thank you for taking the time (and risk) to do the right thing to help preserve the integrity of our racing here in ACC. 👍
Hi Moses! Dominik W. from the GT4 races! Now we have the answer for this "alien". So we both are not slow, we just dont cheat ;) Hope to see you again @ LFM GT4. Good and fair drivers are always welcome!
Years ago, in Raceroom, there was a driver who would put in ridiculous lap times, beating just about everyone, all the time. The forums were full of chat about the 'cheater' and how he should be banned. Anyway, eventually the guy went on to become an irl racing driver; he drove in the DTM series, the VLN Nordschliefe, the ADAC series and the BMW M2 series. So not everyone you suspect is necessarily a cheat, but in this case the evidence seems pretty strong.
I drove so many GT4 races with this guy. I was wondering how he can be so fast, but was guessing that he is just a really good driver. But no, many of us in GT4 are not slower, we are just dont cheat!
11:39 - That was my clip from Project Cars 3, I was one of the fastest people on the xbox on that game and he was cheating. He was slow as anything on Project cars 1 but then somehow becomes superfast on PC3. I called him out for being a cheat, because of that clip. Its a rolling start hot lap yet he is going much faster over the start line. I quit playing the game because nothing was done and it was reported to them on the ProjectCars Forum. But they just banned anyone who ever said anything negative. Great to see he finally got his has banned!
I quit competitive online racing a decade ago because of an explosive boom of cheats in the game(s) I played. Completely ruined my trust/drive. I still like racing but only Single Player/Casual driving games, and a rare occasion at a public event where cheating is near impossible.
Saw my first cheater on acc the other week, he was 5 tenths quicker than the bop lap at monza 😂 while driving like a tool 💀. Ruined the lobby for everyone.
Soo hows this then.. the time hacked not how he goes around the track?. Gotta still drive. Hack increases power or something?. Why console better... no hacks or cheats not possible.
I play PUBG for example: "As a result, we successfully issued permanent bans to 1,480,434 accounts for using illegal software during the first half of 2024." The same thing with almost every competitive game...
Some of these cheaters are doing it as a business/work. They will do boosting services or win competition prizes with cheats. What pisses me off is when game publisher doesn't take it seriously and is unwilling to monitor their top players.
As a bit of a controller merchant (though in gt7 and iracing not ACC) I have to say I was deeply insulted that you thought he was on pad. I know how to trail brake! I swear!
I simraced competetively exactly 20 years ago, and though I had clear suspicion of cheaters at the grid, I never-ever-never dwelled in it! Just having endless fun while competing myself and to my heart knowing being honest, hard work of hours of garage work and fine tuning, the gift in itself was not my few podium spots but being in the presence here and now. Like a golfer I know winning an amateuer weekend during mid 90ies, asked by the county club chairman what he wished to do now "oh I'm really looking forward to practicing post this ceremony". This is me, even though I KNOW I've been cheated - I've had endless fun while it lasted. During the past decade or so I've observed more and more summers like toddlers wantonly asking Jimmer "is this cheating or is it OK?" - instead of focusing on the 99% good sides and then just mentioning in a side note. It's a bit like the go-kart races I took part in in the 70s, there were also funny things happening, but it was just straight away to the next race, before there was a trend in the 90s, where it was like the bitterness and that the whole existence depended on it. I'm not trying to defend cheaters - I bet they're really poor folks needing some support in life. I'm just raising the word of letting it go and focus on the good experience and what you can do yourself becoming a better simmer/a better racing driver on the real world tracks or a better human, not focussin on the negative things in life.
Competing only with yourself is a healthy mindset that lets you enjoy what you're doing without worrying about how well others are doing. Unfortunately, these past few generations are raised on social media and have only known a world where comparing yourself to everyone else at all times is the norm.
2 years of blatant cheating before he got caught he would have gotten away with it forever if he had been just a bit smarter (like a notable percentage of top players)
Remember way back in the day racing on rfactor on Race2play there were a bunch of Brazilian guys using tyre hacks. They would do a 40 minute race with no tyre deg. Years later I heard what I always thought, they were using tyre hacks, sad people.
I think one of the best anti cheat could be a bit like the one Track Mania does, that when you drive online on a server, that the server runs a copy of the input in a game and if the lines match, you good else you get the Ban hammer....
The game just has to record the inputs and setup, allowing anyone to download the replay who suspects. If the replay is different you know it was hacked.
Of course, there's more subtle ways of cheating in Trackmania that can't be caught by replays. Such as custom pressure curves on analog keyboards, or that new rule they made about minimum input runs.
I raced this guy in a fairly major Console league before 2023, he always drove the Audi R8 Evo, I always wondered how he was so fast on console, now seeing this I am honestly in disbelief🤷♂️.
@@danardisimracing I know for a game like fortnite it's done via hardware that connects to the controller port. for racing I'm not sure but assume it's the same principle
6,000 hrs is crazy to me. I know competitive games and esports, that's nothing...but that's 3 years of a full-time job in a game! It's even more telling when his comments saying he wasn't cheating say he's only been racing for 1.5 years yet somehow he's turning in these magical laps so much faster than, as I said, the equivalent of 3 years playing the game 40 hrs a week.
The only thing I could think of for an anti cheat in this game would be a system that records your inputs such as steering angle, brake, and throttle pressure, as well as recording the grip level the track has as the car goes over it, then run a new simulation with the same inputs the game received. This way we could see what would “actually” happen if they had the same base system the game intends. If you do the same exact thing in the exact same conditions twice over, the time should be the same, you shouldn’t spin out, oversteer, nothing. Edit: to make this more clear, think of the TAS speedruns people would do on old Mario games, which resulted in the same outcome every time. only instead of imputing each input manually, we record the cheaters inputs and have the anticheat software program put them into this TAS type simulation and see what happens
I hate when people say their reason for cheating is because everyone else does it. 1st that's pathetic and weak. 2nd not everyone cheats. Cheaters are losers 👍🏼✌🏼
Eh, if you look critically at professional sports and IRL competitions, if you're not cheating (or at least bending the rules just shy of breaking while playing in the grey area), you're not trying. Somehow, I have doubts that competitive e-sports are significantly cleaner while cheating is significantly easier (and doesn't have long term side effects, unlike PED use).
@@theKashConnoisseur there's bending rules. In terms of interpreting them differently and there's letting bots help you. Which Cleary isn't allowed. Yes drivers sometimes have aids on the car ABS, TC ect. But that's different because rules will state what's legal or not as I'm sure you are aware. Plenty of people have won things without cheating.✌🏼
@@Brooker0013 Sure, plenty of people have won without cheating. But when it comes to high level competition, if there's a way to cheat that gives benefits while being hard to detect, you can guarantee that "everybody is doing it". Look at the Tour de France rider rankings after Lance Armstrong got exposed. Basically every top rider was cheating, too. Look at MLB pitcher spin rates before the (very short term) crackdown on grip enhancers vs after. The vast majority of high level pitchers appear to be actively cheating, and the league doesn't really care. Every decade or so there's a massive Olympics doping scandal, and yet people are still breaking records set by known cheats. So that indicates that everyone is still cheating, only in a smarter way.
I saw cheaters in a lot of different games and I was always thinking. - if you cheat and you win, you know you were cheating so you can not really be proud of your self. But worst than that. - If you are cheating and you don t win, you are really a bad player.
@@polar_inertiamy guess is that the desire to win is so big everything is allowed. Just like athletes using doping. They know they can't beat the competition, and know it's unethical to do, but as long as nobody finds out they have their moment of fame and recognition. Take a look at Armstrong for example, the guy won 7 times the Tour de France on doping and was proud as a monkey with 7 🍆 about it.
@@polar_inertia I occasionally use hacks and mods, and it's super easy to live with yourself when you remember it's a GAME. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't hack or cheat (or really even play) on competitive multiplayer games. But even for those that do, it's just game. It's super not a huge deal.
Essential video George...this sort of behaviour doesnt directly impact us non aliens but i race in this BMW TCX LFM championship and it is disheartening to be out qualified and raced not knowing how to keep improving. As you say it can ,but shouldnt ,cast doubt on genuine faster drivers. Everyone wants to get better but a line of code or a switch is kidding yourself. Thanks George.
I was one of the 12 finalists for the jimmy team 87 cup and we were all gutted to find out that the winner had been cheating. Was really looking forward to seeing the content that jimmer had planned for his channel around the whole event and was all canned due to what happened. What was funny was that the guy who cheated was by far the slowest on the karting day with the 12 of us which in some ways when looking back was a red flag in itself!
All you pros should do more videos like this just to apply some pressure on the devs to find a nice anti cheat software. Thank you for your Video Mate!!
Tech-guy here. I understand how it is possible to cheat undetected in mil-sims, but in a sim-racing? Isn't the telemetry and the replay-files there for everyone to see? Should be pretty easy to take the suspected's setup + telemetry and see if it adds up?
Fantastic work UKOG. Seen him disapearing up the road in a lot of LFM GT4 series races this season; it's a shame that cheating exists and is so hard to spot
We had reported "anomalous" times of certain users to LFM but they didn't listen to us. Evidently we had the right suspicion after your video. I hope that this measure will be taken for other users who continue to cheat on LFM undisturbed.
we had a guy in a Pitskill race once that was suddenly WAY faster than everyone else and he used to be near the back of the grid. He was gaining all the time on the straights though. We questioned him about it and he agreed it looked super sus and said the only thing he could think of was that he had overclocked his motherboard recently. No idea if that's true but we didn't see him again after that if I remember rightly. But yeah its normally much harder to be sure of things not being legit in this game. This is why I don't want to ever put any cash prizes etc up in any races I organise
In Project Cars 2 when we were racing and that guy joined a lobby, he was isntantly kicked out... from ever.single.lobby. That was the beauty of hosting your own lobby - kicking cheaters and a-holes right out the door. The problem with ACC is that it's by far the easiest sim to cheat it and sometimes it's impossible to tell in the GT3 class where setups play such a huge role in the laptimes. The thing that got this guy banned is that he was mediocre at best in driving, but displaied alien speed. His lines were one of the worst i've seen in top tier racing, yet somehow he was faster. If there was enough human power to process the MoTEC data from every single racer in LFM, about 80% of the fast guys would get INSTABANNED.
I left sims about ten years ago when we were still playing with GTR2 and Rfactor, and from what I can remember in those years there were no cheats for sims yet, now I was seriously thinking of going back to ACC or Iracing, but after this video you honestly made me lose all desire to start again, I'm fed up with cheaters on World of Tanks, racing and motorsport are a religion for me and I certainly don't want to let them be ruined by some frustrated pos who can't accept being slower than others.
@@yanushkowalsky1402 yes. The only cheating scandals I've seen with iRacing were people who used lag switches to avoid collisions with other drivers, people who cut the track through the pitlane entry to shave a few tenths, and people who intentionally wrecked other drivers, and iRacing generally will punish cheaters. Have you heard of any other type of cheating on iRacing?
It's wild you posted this video, last week on LFM on Nur ring I watched a qualification lap of someone and the car was on absolute rails. I didn't just assume he was cheating but it put me down a deep Rabbit hole.
Whoa, how did you get video of me in project cars 3! LoL, I don't even remember recording that. Yeah, he was the top driver in my Project Cars 3 league, and I had no idea. He was fast, but never that much faster than anyone else in league races. Just a little bit... edit: found the clip. Looks like I was the target ghost time, not the driver recording.
I don't normally get involved in discussions like this, but in Project Cars 3 you could activate a boost at the start, it wasn't a cheat, he probably pressed it faster than others at that moment. On the channel where this video comes from there are other videos with similar ones with other drivers, where they also claim to be cheaters. As far as I know it's difficult to cheat on consoles. I once knew of a case where someone was accused of something similar, then it turned out that he had actually found a way to be faster than everyone else, but he obviously wasn't cheating, he had just pushed the game's physics to the limits with his unusual driving style, so that he was faster. But that doesn't mean that it affects this driver too. I would just be careful about making assumptions too quickly.
As someone who stumbled across this video via the YT recommendations I know little of SIM Racing and am left wondering "How does someone cheat in Racing??" Are they somehow altering the abilities of the vehicles to make them have more power, braking ability and traction? etc or are they able to use a different vehicle and make it appear in game like a slower lower class car?. As someone who plays FPS games I understand the cheating and how it's achieved in that genre but am not grasping how it is achieved in Racing games Maybe that's something you could explain in a video for us Racing Layman's out here
cheers for the feedback man! So what you are saying here is basically it, they make it so their car has xx% more grip/power etc. Like having a gun that kills in 2 shots instead of 3, just wayyyyy more subtle and difficult to confirm due to many more variables at play. The main reason I am slightly cryptic in the video was due to trying to not give ideas to wannabe cheaters if you know what I mean. But I'll take this on board for future vids so thanks for the constructive criticism, it's always helpful
@@ukog420 All in All a good video, well structured... I did not mean to be critical but thought it may be a topic you might cover in a future video... I know you Creative Sorts are always looking for ideas for content👍
@@ukog420 I have been sim racing for over 10 years now, Im not the fastest by any means or particularly very skilled compaired to some. I practice all week for a race on iRacing only to find myself 2-3 seconds slower per lap than others in my split and am usualy mid grid on the start line. I am working hard to improve, though I dont have the time or energy sometimes to put in the laps the way I used to, but the feeling I do get when I gain a few 10ths can keep me smiling for days. For me its not about the winning , though it would be a bonus, but more about finishing the race cleanly and taking a bit of pride in my hobby ! I was trying to work out how they were doing this too and more to the point, why ? They must know the truth always comes out !
I don't mind "cheating" as long as you are playing by yourself. At least you're not hurting anyone else's games. I stopped racing online because I got tired of the cheaters or reckless driving in GT, it ruins races for many.
Well, this explains a lot haha. I'm not saying that i'm a particularly good driver, but M2 at Watkins was a combo that really suited me. Ended up doing a bit of hotlapping while practicing for a race, and got within 2 tenths of his lap record. I did slightly miss a couple apexes, but i don't think i had even a tenth in me anymore. Can't remember if there was any other times between his LFM record and my hotlap though. And now he's apparently gone around almost 1,5 seconds faster. What 😂I don't think there's that big of a difference between 1.9 and 1.10
I found this one really easy to spot compared to the one that McCormack got. Braking 100% and having that much turn in makes no sense to me at all. The scary part is when an actual good player uses them to get 1 or 2 tenths faster. This guy would probably be 2-3s slower without his cheats.
See thats the thing, some of us dedicate soo much time to playing our favorite games, we just KNOW when something isnt right. And then we have like the 100 hour or the 100-500 matches guys claiming "oh youre just bad" but here we are, 10k matches in, or 8k hours into a game, and we can just tell when something is wrong.
Great video. I watched this live on your stream and even I am mad retrospectively and thinking at that animal in chat who was a friend of his trolling you all that time
I'm always suspicious of drivers who seem to have insane levels of grip, in exactly the same car that I'm driving in a race. I don't see them that often but unfortunately it can be difficult to prove.
the biggest problem is these cheaters who cannot detect you and came across a cheater who is a bit stupid but if the people who hack do it more discreetly like for example those who win just 1 tenths no one will ever have a doubt they cheat
14:05 "Eventually they will leave too many clues..." You mean, like, pulverising the lap record in quali, while driving in Split 2? :D Happened last season during the Kyalami Endu...
That pc3 clip is hilarious lol he just turned around before the line like 95% of other drivers did too and he was ridiculously fast on pc3 and acc on Xbox I don’t know how you can cheat on Xbox but interesting video about someone who I used to race with on Xbox years ago 👍
@@mtuz8356 You seem really interested. I hope you don't plan on cheating your self. Answer is external device to read and write the memory component. I would like to remind that a playstation and xbox are just computers, just like pcs, only the os is different.
@@sp33douThat's interesting that you don't need a jailbroken PS5/xbox to run cheats. How's the PS5 talking to a modified file ? You can't force consoles running current software to read your modified files game and go online and use it. Any changes to game files from original format just do not work when you download back to console. It detects the changes and says update not supported and then tries to make you download the original game file again from your PS Library. Just like how you can't get online without updating the game. The Devs have to give PlayStation any new files then PlayStation allows the software to use it. anyone or anything using game files can only use it online if it talks to the software. But new files can only talk to the software through PlayStation updates.. I don't understand how you can make the PS5 software read modified asset files If you mess with games files and try to download it back to the PS5 it doesn't work unless you have old software, and again.. old software doesn't allow you online lol I can't see how you can trick the PS5 into believing your modified files are real and then give you an update file to run cheats on current software it doesn't make sense to me. I don't need to cheat, I'm already faster than the majority and I use a controller. I'm just curious how it's easy and if it is easy then guaranteed these guys doing 1:58s at Bathurst and 1:45s at Monza are cheaters right?
It is quite some time I don't race on LFM, but I used to race with M2 and GT4, cause I like those cars a lot. And to do something different to GT3. I am usually around 1 second slower than the aliens, when I am in shape I can do some tenth better. Obviously I raced this guy a lot and as you said in this video, it was a bit sus. More in the race than in qualifying. But as the gap was the usual from the top guys, I thought that was only on me. But I don't care to be honest. And I don't like having an anti-cheat for 2 reasons: on PC they will find ALWAYS a way to cheat. And second reason is the anti-cheats usually can affect the game performance. In a racing game it is easy to spot those guys. But maybe if I was a pro-driver my opinion could change.
I remember when a famous pro driver did a live broadcast on Twitch and his pressures were fixed at 27. It's not the best, especially because at the beginning of ACC things like that weren't seen. the biggest problem is that a naive person like him can get caught. if you go to a championship where you find aliens, how do you understand who is possibly cheating? you will never know if he will use any advantage. the biggest problem comes from acc which is easily moddable on these things.
@@code60 I have no interest in talking about it, I'm 37 years old and if kids want to have fun like this, that's their business. Good video, M2 needs more love, enjoyed the M2 cup at the Nords by LFM. Think I'm mildly better at trail braking as a result. It is worrying when you read a lot of people do it, maybe i should make more time to check the replay a little closer.
Hi George, I'm loving that your uploading alot more now. Would it be possible for you to do a video explaining how you use/analyse your motec data? I've been stuck in the 101% of times for ages now and it feels like I've hit a brick wall with my times. Thankyou
Thing is, i raced him alot a while back in GT4. Never suspected anything (and never checked). Getting beaten by 5 Seconds on a 25m race always just motivated me to practice more, work on the setup, work on my driving... Kinda have mixed feelings rn.
Can the likes of LFM not run the motec data into a car simulator and feed his inputs and see how it would behave on a clean install? An un-modded/cheat would surely just run off the track.
Not much into Sim Racing, but I do know there was a controversy about a Grip Hack in a competition for the F1 games. Definitely needs to be some sort of anti cheat for the games where the inputs are tested and if they don't match the time is rejected.
Holy fff also in assetto - Online gaming is finish - The f1 game yes the laps is not possible . Is so bad now that 2025 online gaming is FINISH - crazy
Cheating sucks. PERIOD! Imo it's even more sad if people cheat when nothing more than their own honor is at stake, say a open lobby etc... like what's the point?? Where's the sense of achievement winning when you know you haven't done it without "enhancements" to the game. for the record, all acc aliens are cheating, in fact all that are quicker than me are.... (the last bit was a joke obviously) On a footnote though, it's sad that nothing but GT3s are raced in ACC, the developer puts time and effort in to create fantastic cars and content and they are raced for a week or two at release and then left to rot. I guess GT3 is the main thing for ACC (as with almost all other sim-games) but it's sad. That's one advantage in iracing in my opinion, you can find races in many different types of cars and classes, . The downside is it's quite costly, the graphics engine is dated and it has had their own controversies in the past too, like grassriding, using apron in quali to gain time etc etc, and I'm sure there have been and still are cheaters too.... but for variety, it's unmatched.
I always say that those who cheat are just cheating themselves. I'm pretty sure I have come across this guy in ACC in a public lobby, that name looks familiar. Last night I started 12th in a race and finished 4th, not because I'm fast, but because I just drove consitstantly and enjoyed the race, I even gave way to a much faster guy who started late.
These guys are starting to figure out cheats I absolutely hate this. What's funny is he sucks at driving like really bad. Sad others were saying oh he's a god he's so good. Yeah because he has a crazy OP cheat.
When you can go in and change code it will always be possible to cheat!! And as long as there's winners and losers people will cheat!! I've definitely suspected it on a few occasions. Especially when watching people's inputs. I like to compare my laps to other faster drivers. Seeing where I brake in relation to them. What our apex speeds are and how quickly they are able to get back on the throttle!! There's definitely times I see people getting back on the throttle when their car and wheel are in a situation where it should spin and didn't! I always assumed it was the set up.
Imo best anti-cheat is a legit top 0,01% player watching and analyzing the data. When you think it is sus, it is generally cheats. I have experience in this kind of cheating and I have a good guess what he was doing there. This issue is not going to be fixed any time soon, if ever.
I've played against cheaters before, but they're always the obvious type, the one's who use super speed or instant-aim shoot through walls sort of thing. That sucks, but it's the ones who subtly cheat who are far worse and more insidious.
Im happy that the racisting community does things like this and (some) of the game developers take actions against cheating, at least more than in cs2 for example which is the worst, when it comes to this problem
Damn I remember the M2 + PCup race on the Nürburgring where he had absolutely no competition and I was really impressed by him… Sad to see that he was cheating
Is there any reason the end-of-game cannot save all driver inputs from all players, then permit after-game individuals to replay a local SIM version of the that race? If all input data is saved then the simulation should exactly match the game played.

After the race we saw the replay, he managed to do the fastest lap at the end of the race missing 2 apex in 2 corners and end up winning the race
(He was 10 seconds behind us)
So even IF he was legit on the braking side he still uses cheat for increasing his grip and for cancelling tyre wear

Its simple to proof its what i did.
Go to this track grab the M2 without TC and try the same he did.
Spoiler: You go off everywhere
He could still have been cheating.

I'm convinced it's widespread in every genre
Some of these cheaters are doing it as a business/work. They will do boosting services or win competition prizes with cheats. What pisses me off is when game publisher doesn't take it seriously and is unwilling to monitor their top players.

I'm sorry :'(
I simraced competetively exactly 20 years ago, and though I had clear suspicion of cheaters at the grid, I never-ever-never dwelled in it!
2 years of blatant cheating before he got caught
he would have gotten away with it forever if he had been just a bit smarter
(like a notable percentage of top players)
Remember way back in the day racing on rfactor on Race2play there were a bunch of Brazilian guys using tyre hacks. They would do a 40 minute race with no tyre deg. Years later I heard what I always thought, they were using tyre hacks, sad people.
Very easy to lock tyre temp and wear on client side games 😔
I think one of the best anti cheat could be a bit like the one Track Mania does, that when you drive online on a server, that the server runs a copy of the input in a game and if the lines match, you good else you get the Ban hammer....
The game just has to record the inputs and setup, allowing anyone to download the replay who suspects. If the replay is different you know it was hacked.
Of course, there's more subtle ways of cheating in Trackmania that can't be caught by replays. Such as custom pressure curves on analog keyboards, or that new rule they made about minimum input runs.
Trackmania have deterministic physics...
I raced this guy in a fairly major Console league before 2023, he always drove the Audi R8 Evo, I always wondered how he was so fast on console, now seeing this I am honestly in disbelief🤷♂️.

Never play a racing game on PC. Even the e-sport racers cheat.
we had a guy in a Pitskill race once that was suddenly WAY faster than everyone else and he used to be near the back of the grid. This is why I don't want to ever put any cash prizes etc up in any races I organise
hardware changes might not affect the game performance on the straights... so, yeah, he was cheating.
"overclocked motherboard"? He picked pretty much the only component that doesn't have an overclocking feature as his excuse?

100% braking, wheel turned 90 degrees, car still rotating... that's suspicious as hell by itself

This is why I play gt7 , yes there's dirty drivers, but no cheaters, and you can always send a dirty driver to the shadow realm 😏

As someone who plays FPS games I understand the cheating and how it's achieved in that genre but am not grasping how it is achieved in Racing games
Maybe that's something you could explain in a video for us Racing Layman's out here

Imagine how much faster he would be if he was actually good. Wait, if he was good, he wouldn't be cheating.
Devs should implement more server side cheat protection to combat cheaters
Can the likes of LFM not run the motec data into a car simulator and feed his inputs and see how it would behave on a clean install? An un-modded/cheat would surely just run off the track.
Not much into Sim Racing, but I do know there was a controversy about a Grip Hack in a competition for the F1 games.

On a footnote though, it's sad that nothing but GT3s are raced in ACC, the developer puts time and effort in to create fantastic cars and content and they are raced for a week or two at release and then left to rot.
Many kids are using similar grip hack in AC.
They should make a kernel level anti cheat it would eliminate 98% of cheaters in this game.
funny story Masterlooser was a ACC and RRE cheater and many other games and works for AMS2 now
When a player got banned for cheating, are all his laptimes removed?
When you can go in and change code it will always be possible to cheat!! And as long as there's winners and losers people will cheat!!
I've definitely suspected it on a few occasions. Especially when watching people's inputs.
I like to compare my laps to other faster drivers. Seeing where I brake in relation to them. What our apex speeds are and how quickly they are able to get back on the throttle!!
There's definitely times I see people getting back on the throttle when their car and wheel are in a situation where it should spin and didn't! I always assumed it was the set up.
Goldeneye music is good n all but real gs know its all about that Perfect dark OST
Imo best anti-cheat is a legit top 0,01% player watching and analyzing the data. When you think it is sus, it is generally cheats.
I have experience in this kind of cheating and I have a good guess what he was doing there. This issue is not going to be fixed any time soon, if ever.
with that braking you will dart straight out of the corner
Do they just change the tyre settings in the game? It would be interesting to see how good the tyres would have to be for me to be competitive.
He clearly had no idea the cheats were on his computer…. Clara strikes again.
+1 For Goldeneye N64 Music
I've played against cheaters before, but they're always the obvious type, the one's who use super speed or instant-aim shoot through walls sort of thing. That sucks, but it's the ones who subtly cheat who are far worse and more insidious.
It Loopks like the real world...
Im happy that the racisting community does things like this and (some) of the game developers take actions against cheating, at least more than in cs2 for example which is the worst, when it comes to this problem
Damn I remember the M2 + PCup race on the Nürburgring where he had absolutely no competition and I was really impressed by him… Sad to see that he was cheating
did you try to cpoy his drivng and see if you get the same results?
Is there any reason the end-of-game cannot save all driver inputs from all players, then permit after-game individuals to replay a local SIM version of the that race? If all input data is saved then the simulation should exactly match the game played.
I hope ACC can adress this it can destroy the sim. I'm disgusted by it. Love this video btw the evidence you provide awesome
I dont care about the cheating but you Sir, You are ADORABLE wearing your big boy racing gloves at home...just
WTF them cars you need to steer with pedal input 🤣, no way he turns that smooth with no trail braking 😆
