The chords at 1:59, 2:06, 2:14, 2:21 always give me goosebumps while listing to this marvelous piece by Rachmaninoff. I could listen to that song in an infinite loop and would be amazed every time it repeats. Thankfully we have access to this piece of music
I do think he is right not to do the repeat, I've never understood it - and though some pianists do play the repeat I have never been completel convinced. This is a wonderful performance with marvels such as the left hand octaves in the''funeral march' section' and the slow tempo which never drags.

@@aidandoran8551 there are 10ths, so it's quite hard to reach sometimes

You can use the soft pedal, too, but it's not a requirement, it's an option.
