Dior was one of my top 3 favourite fashion houses, since like a decade ago up until now. Their craftmanship, beautiful design and intricate details are always stunning
I recently bought that Miss Dior Top Handle around the same time as the Chanel WOC. I haven't used the WOC yet as it doesn't fit as much as Miss Dior. I'm loving Miss Dior because the leather is soft but not too delicate like the Caro. I can fit quite a bit in Miss Dior and love that I can carry it top handle, over one shoulder, or crossbody.
I was never into the Dior book tote, I felt like it was over priced for being canvas bags. However, after seeing it in person I can certainly understand why it's so popular. The craftmanship really is something special. But it's really heavy as well. It was a good weight when it's empty, I can only imagine what it's like when it's filled.
There is just something about Dior to me that is the ultimate in luxury femininity. When I win the lottery I will buy a mini lady Dior (the only size I like though!). I am not a fan of the book tote but those butterflies make me take a second look…so gorgeous! But I agree, a little overboard on all things butterflies!
❤❤❤I’m in looooove with Dior! 😍 I love it even more than Chanel at this point. Butterflies are adorable, in my opinion, and I’d love it for my baby girl. 👍🏻
I’ve got a condition that I forgot the name of. When there are so many of the same things clustered together, I just get grossed out and goose bumps all over. The small butterflies on these bags make me shiver 😬
I think Dior used Frida Kahlo's name to gain attention for a collection that's inspired by Mexican culture. The looks from the runway reminded me of Spanish gothic fashion styles. They made it lighter by including whites and creams along with black and deeper shades of red. I'm simplifying this, but the mariposa (butterfly) represents a connection to the spirit world. This might be Dior's way of creating an "it" symbol (think Chanel's heart bag) that's connected to Mexican culture. I also saw this launched in my local boutique in late October, tying it to Dia de los Muertos. I live in the southwest and the collection resonated here. The pieces were very beautiful, but pricey. I walked away thinking that Dior was reaching for a price level closer to Chanel and Hermes, especially for the seasonal bags.
Thanks for sharing! It’s very interesting. I always connected the stars and constellations to Dior and the fact that Christian Dior was so superstitious about the charms he added to his designs. Seems this collection is bringing a new element - and of course, I agree, the prices are really getting up there!
I am not a dior collector but happened to love their fine jewellery. I was offered the chance to pre order the butterfly bag but it can't fit much. It is really for decorative purpose lol. But It is so beautifully crafted :)
I can imagine how intricate and exquisite the details must be in person! And of course, these novelty shapes never fit a lot, right? 😂 Thanks for sharing!
Eagle eye! I went back and zoomed in. It’s actually the vertical stitching where the thread is but the angle makes it look like a tear or hole. You’re like a detective! 😮😂
I feel like Dior focuses so much more on intricate craftmanship than Chanel which is so awesome to see. Even though I'm not a huge fan of butterflies, I appreciate the intricate details to these art pieces. I feel these scream luxury more than some of too juvenile channel pieces. :P (normally a channel fan, but these dior collections are so stunning)
Dior’s C’est bucket bag is nice. It is the first bag I consider the oblique canvas because the smooth leather version (I do love smooth leather) looks too formal to me. But I do agree that the oblique print gives a yellowish dirty feel. I am still not sure about spending about usd4k on it yet. So I am still considering the purchase. Miss lady dior is also nice. But WOC is too small for me. I have plenty of small makeup items. So, I will just admire from afar.
I did notice that the show was in Mexico and wondered why. I didn't watch it; I just saw it on Social. Frida has a famous quote in Spanish after a devastating accident that translates to, "Feet, what do I need you for if I have wings to fly?" She also has a lot of butterflies in her artwork but a lot of color. The 3D lace is pretty. However, the concept in DIor would be Frida light.
It says a lot when you are resorting to butterfly. It caters to most people with common taste and very commercial. One can still be impactful and commercial for eg those Rick Owens boots but Maria is not that kind of designer. It’s just luxury Forever21
The butterflies are related to Frida Kahlo, which she used a lot in her artworks. I work with butterflies and moths and 3 months away from my defense, I am thinking of getting a scarf or mitzah as my graduation gift :))
Priced out for what it is…far more luxurious things like mortgage payments, utilities, home improvements, college tuition that I could use that 7 k for lol
I’m not a Dior fan in general. I actually don’t own any pieces from them. Over the years I have thought about whether I should add one to my collection but it’s has ended with a no… 😅 I do however like their Oblique print… lol but it’s not enough for me to buy a piece!
I laughed out loud when you said you aren’t a fan of Dior’s oblique print and I’m literally scouring fashionphile for a belt bag or phone pouch in that print! Dangit ❤❤😂😂
I love the look of the Dior bags, they are making such gorgeous bags. But for having one lady Dior, it’s not totally me let’s say. I don’t like the butterflies, it’s kinda childish to me. One bag that I like and could possibly see myself wearing a lot is the Miss Dior mini bag. But otherwise, I’m afraid I will just continue to admire from afar.
I have regular size miss dior top handle , and love it. The capacity is awesome and durable. I’m all about practicality. Anybody interested can purchase and ask for send from Hawaii, their price at least 250-300 usd cheaper than US mainland.
Dior is honestly so beautiful! The bags are very feminine which I feel is hard for a guy to pull off. I think the prices are too high now. I have a large dior book tote in mizza print - it’s heavy but I love that bag!! I also have a dior saddle (men’s version) and it’s something else. Too pretty!! 💯
I know what you mean. Their designs are often very feminine - even too feminine for me as a woman! Makes me feel I must get dressed up for a Dior bag! 😂
I love Lady Dior bags, but their handles don’t fit into my small hands. Last year I bought a gorgeous embroidered midi book tote, but haven’t worn it because it’s so heavy and delicate. I am ok with butterflies, since Dior does a lot of flowers and animals in their embroidery, but I would never identify this collection as Frida Kahlo inspired - different mood and color palette.
I have two lady Dior, but I find the charm is really disturbing. I hardly reach out to my lady Dior bags, but prefer carry my Montaigne bags more. Chanel is always my every occasions and everyday bags. Hermès is always for some special day use for me.
I'm glad to see that Dior's Lady Dior small sizes no longer have a zipper opening. I owned (and sold) a Lady Dior that I loved, except for the zipper opening. It was a pain to get in and out of the inside of the bag. The flap closure is so much better.
Indeed, I have the flap closure and I find it somewhat annoying but I can imagine the zipper was even trickier to get in and out of with that small opening!
Other than some of the colors (which I love) I feel like Dior has been a snooze lately for me. Nothing new and exciting beyond the classics which are catching my attention.
im sorry but with these butterflies, what are we, children. if im spendy that type of money, i need something classic and timeless. this is not going to age well.
I like the whole vibe of Dior. It feels really luxurious and classy among the other fashion houses, more than Hermes in my opinion.
I think Dior does delicate details quite well and that brings a feeling of luxury in the intricacy. 💕
@@hellocatwalkcity totally agree.. doesn't have to be made of leather all the time to be luxurious

It’s definitely heavy! I agree.
Too heavy for me + the name splash is tacky😮
I am loving the sequins sparkly bags that they’ve been doing lately. So stunning!
Seriously stunning! I saw another one at the Dior store yesterday and picked it up just to see how it catches all the light. ✨

I tried the Miss lady top handle. The champagne gold looks like silver in person. I chose Caro at the end
Love the new bags.. look so lightweight and airy. The butterflies are cute but also very juvenile.
Well said.
I love the gold studded lady dior in both black and white. Stunning. I think people who like VCA jewellry would love this style.
Oh interesting!
i love them rn it’s fr giving LUXURY BAGS!!!!! instead of the the stuff other designers r making

@@hellocatwalkcity Dior honestly makes beautiful bags, but practicality triumphs for working mums like us :p
Love all of it.
Maybe I am the only one but I think MGC has given all that she can to Dior. Would love to see a new appointment.
😯 😯 😯
I can see why they used a butterfly to represent Frieda, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to say on the tubes lol
🤔
What are your thoughts on the Dior Montaigne? Is it worth it? Or are there similar bags out there at a better price point?
Thanks for sharing! At 1:17, there seems to be a small torn leather below the CD handle ring of the emerald Lady Dior….

Lovely video! I love the colors, BUT the white and gold are not for my lifestyle, but lovely. Thx for the video! 😊
Ditto! So pretty to look at, but I know mine would get dirty in exactly 3 minutes. 😂😅
I wonder how the butterfly one looks in person. Photos and videos don’t sell the bag well.
I agree. Photos usually lack the depth and detail.
❤❤❤ I like the book tote esp medium size

My experience with Dior customer service has been subpar more than once. I don't purchase from the brand any longer.
Oh that’s a shame. I had a lukewarm experience at one of the Dior boutiques in Italy and it nearly put me off the brand for life. So I understand.
