At the FREMO meeting in Magdeburg, our Greifenstedt station was a central traffic hub. To relieve the dispatcher crew, the station's control desk was equipped with the Rocrail model railroad software and is operated by means of a touch screen.
Congratulations! Very interesting video and excellent work. Unfortunately Rocrail is available for prototype German model railroads only.

@14skippa Was verwendest du da für ein Display und es wäre cool wen Du mal ein Video machst in dem Du auf die Besonderheiten von Rocrail im Modulbetrieb machen kannst. Werden viel Scripte genutzt? Ich hatte mal versucht das mit entsprechenden Aktionen in Rocrail zu lösen, ist aber sehr verzweigt und fehleranfällig. Da hier ja sehr viel Betrieb abgewickelt wir kommt es ja auf die Funktionssicherheit an. Die von mir verwendeten BIDIB baugruppen mit Rasilcom ermöglichen ja auch noch einiges. Wäre extrem spannend ein Video darüber zu sehen.
Hey @kane2754, das Display ist ein Fujitsu Display E24-9 TOUCH. Es geht aber auch jeder andere. 24" Passt perfekt noch in eine Eurokiste für den Transport.
Für die Start-Ziel Tasten wird in der Tat ein Script verwendet, das ist aber "nur" ein shortcut für die Zielwahl, die sonst auchper Drag&Drop angesteuert werden kann. Aktionen wären mir an der Stelle auch zu kompliziert. Ansonsten ist der größte Teil der Funktionalität Rocrail out of the Box.
Der modulare Aufbau erleichtert "nur" die variable Anordnung auf verschiedenen Treffen. Habe auch ganz lange mit einem normalen (=nicht-modularen) Plan gearbeitet, das geht ebenfalls sehr gut.
Welcher Teil interessiert Dich besonders?
@@14skippa danke für deine schnelle Antwort. Wie hast du den Plan aufgebaut. In welchem Modus Manuell oder Automtik fährst du. Wie werden die Loks im ersten Block angemeldet? Wie im letzten gelöscht? Generell wie du das System auf einer Ausstellung/Treffen bedienst. Der Strand den ich habe ist noch von 20/21 es mag also sein dass in der Zwischenzeit innerhalb von Rocrail was passiert ist.

Der Plan ist modular. Aber nur, weil das rechte und linke Ende sich von Treffen zu Treffen unterscheiden.
Die Zugfahrten gehen im Automatikmodus, die An- und Abmeldung geht per ZNF.

Rangierfahrten machen wir mittels manuellem Fahrstraßenverschluss dazwischen.
Das Ganze hat sich natürlich auch entwickelt.
Danke für die Anregung, ich denke mal über ein Video dazu nach. Vielleicht im Rahmen der Vorbereitung für das nächste Treffen?
Eine Frage noch was hast Du als Maschine dran hängen? Raspberry Pi mit einem Linux oder einen Mini Windows PC?
@@kane2754 haben wir beides schon gemacht. Oder auch einen Laptop mit einem Ubuntu-flavour. Die modernen Systeme unterstützen alle Touch Out of the box.

Hey, we use the regular Rocrail automatic routing. The buttons trigger a little script to set the destination for the loco.
There are two videos on the channel on how to get there. Both have english subtitles.

@@14skippa Guess you can do that (point to point) cause you are using automatic mode ?

@ yes, the basic idea is that there are blocks (places where trains might stop or be in) connected by routes. A train (loco) gets a destination block and moves through the network of routes from block to block based on availability and access rights. The script completely use that by just assigning a destination block and issuing a go command.

@@14skippaI I'am not so closed to do that. I already switches routes with point to point actions. But i dont know how to "lock" route in script and display path in yellow on the computer screen. As you do with the button "verchliessen" on the other video :-) Is there a way to verchliessen / lock rout in Script?
