    I have the best wash and gos when I add my products in the shower. The best tip I can share with 4b/4c textures is to let the water run on your hair for at least five minutes to fill all of your hair strands with water. Five minutes. You will immediately notice a different feel in your strands when they are saturated with water; not wet but saturated. Then shampoo or co-wash and then proceed with your wash n go. Remember water is the only true moisturizer. Fill your strands with water and you will see a difference in definition, frizz, and growth. As you said, applying the product on the roots is important. Great video!

      Rubyred USA YES! I have started doing this & you are so correct. Saturating your hair with water b/f you start your wash process makes ALL the difference!!

    Girls get your trapper keepers and #2 pencils cause Miss Lady took us to school. Thanks very much for the detailed explanations. One thing that’s helped my low porosity hair is applying leave in to all the hair first, giving it a chance to absorb, then going back in with the gel. She bout to have me in the shower at 11:16 pm cause I’m excited to try again.

    This was so helpful! I thought the gel captured the curl. I tried a wash and go recently without gel (leave in only) and was amazed with the result. Thank you!

    A Love For Me...The technique you showed in applying gel for Wash-n-Go styling works every single time! I've used several gels since last month & I get a perfect Wash-n-Go every single time & No Flakes!! Thanks for the tip!!! 👍🌟

    Really good tips. I use a leave-in or curl cream followed by a gel. I always use jojoba oil to seal. I rake, smooth, and rake the products into my hair. Followed by scrunching.

    I can only detangle with a brush during my conditioning step but after I rinse that out and begin to style I can only finger detangle or use the “praying hands” method. Otherwise I’m just asking for a big ol’FAIL 🥲

    Excellent tips! All facts! I have experienced all that you have said with my hair! It's a matter of experimenting to see what works and what doesn't work! This is a continued learning process for me to have my Hairstyles at a satisfactory level! TFS!

    Oooh yes! And that lip color is cuuute! But yes I think that’s what I’m doing wrong on my trials of wash n go’s. I’m doing the smoothing method and don’t add water before applying my styler/gel.

    Great tips: you brought forth everything I was doing wrong, turns out it wasn’t the product entirely I was applying it all wrong . I have low porosity hair type 4c and as long as I gently smooth the products to penetrate the hair it turns out great . I two strand twist using the Mielle leave in and twisting soufflé and I was shocked by the results doing this simple step . Thank you

    I like raking and sometimes I shingle when I have the time. But you're right it's all about the technique you use. It's makes all the difference.

    Great tips! That tip about the oil and its affect on the gel is something I will experiment with next wash day. Will add this to my playlist for reference. Technique wise smooth and rake works the best in small sections and in the shower. In this heat my hair drys fast so I try to get my styler in while still soaking wet in the shower. Also not technique but I have found out why my wash n gos always sucked for years. Them dang on all natural sticky botanical gels! My hair needs a strong hold gel. Maybe not all year round but this summer is proving to be the summer of ECO, Wetline, and AMPRO. All those all natural gels don't perform well in this humidity. Those are the gels that were always recommended to me. I will try them again later when the weather cools. I did have mild sucess with OBIA curling custard. But for now I'm done experimenting with those. Looking forward to the gel used in this Sunday's video.

      JenniD this is a great tip. Thank you. Maybe it’s time to put all that Manuka honey and flaxseed to the side, or at least while this heat and humidity is so disrespectful.

      True tea sis, I usually stick to gel's with STRONG hold in these summer months, but I'm doing this for the culture 😆

      A Love 4 Me Great point on using oils. I stopped using oil as part of the loc method and my hair is soft, moisturized, and defined and I also live in high humidity climate, Florida. I credit this mostly to water saturation and then to omitting the oil from my regimen.

    Great tips! Made a mental note of spritzing with water in between layering more gel. To cut back on over usage of gel and to stop the snow flakes☺️I normally rake my gel with fingertips from roots to ends. No tools necessary. Off topic, but Ive noticed you’ve trimmed your beautiful nails. You haven’t picked up your old habit of biting again, right?😉Thanks for these great tips!!

    Thank you for this informative video. I’m trying my hand at WNG’s now. I just bought the old formula of the Wetline Xtreme Gel. What is a good leave-in to pair with that gel?

    • @ALove4Me
      @ALove4Me  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have yet to run into a leave-in/moisturizer that doesn't work with that gel, so choose your favorite.

    How can I tell if I'm putting too much moisture in my daughter's hair, her hair texture is very similar to yours on some parts of her hair. She's a mix of 3c, 4a and 4b. Can I use a hair milk before a leave in and then a creme?

    Thank you for these great technique tips, I will be watching this again and again, I feel like my hair is over moisturized if that us a thing, I say this because as my hair dries it loose all definition, I can sit under the dryer for about 30 minutes to dry the outer layer of my hair then air dry the rest out in our heat here in Texas, not directly in the sun though, anyways I go to bed hair with curls, I don't pineapple because I feel it really stretch my poor curls, so I just put on this satin cap of sorts, in the morning my hair is a hot mess dot Com meaning there are no curls on the root to mid strand on my hair, the tips have a small curl and the front is pretty much the same, however the front looks a whole lot better though, this might be also due to the fact that I just can't work the product in my hair like I can the front, also I have tried smoothing, I have tried the raking method, not sure if either worked better than the other. I was only trying just a moisturizer /leave-in then the styler (gel), then decided to try this week adding a curl cream now my hair is fine, medium density and transitioning gray strands, the products I use most are CR, the curl love/then curlmaker. This week it was JC curls on the go leave-in, the cocktail then the Styling gel from this line, when I tell you this was a fail just like all the rest well it was and my hair feels so soft and not one ounce of hold whatsoever. So I will watch your video over, so if you have any more helpful tips, I would appreciate it much, I am about to just give up and wear buns the rest of the summer, for my Sunday style which is basically when I wear my hair out. Oh lastly after this long comment is do you think you hair has to be trained to do this style? Sounds ridiculous am sure just thought I would ask all the same! Whew, after all this I really appreciate your tips and tricks to helping people like me eventually have a pretty decent wadh n style (go).

    • @ALove4Me
      @ALove4Me  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It sounds like your hair needs protein. Hair doesn't train, but the moisture levels will improve the more you do the wash and go, and then your curls will pop easier.

    I have tried a wash and go, it is not a wash and go! It takes less time and last longer with a 2 strand twist for me, as well as dries faster. I don’t use as much product either with a 2 strand twist. I just don’t understand calling all that work a wash and go! Your hair always looks great, but I don’t have the patience for all that work! You make it look easy.

    • @ALove4Me
      @ALove4Me  6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Just as a twist out is a name for a style, so is wash and go. Twist outs aren't simple either, you don't just twist and go, you have to wait for them to dry. Twist outs or even twists also have a learning curve. It looks easy because for me Wash N Go's are easy, they take me less than 10 minutes. I don't compare the styles cause they both take patience.

      @123456711751 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      A Love 4 Me, I agree with you except for the fact that I get a better look and longer wear from a twist out, or I can leave my twist in and style after a 5 year experience with my hair. To each his own, I love your style!
