      As a piercer and someone that's been in tattoo studios for agessssss this stuff never happens in reputable studios! Piercer have to train and no studio will never let someone Pierce that hasn't had extensive training and licencing! Good things to look out for is that the Piercer used titanium jewlery, autoclavable tools such as metal clamps that are titanium or surgical steel, if you get 2 piercings they WILL use 2 needles even if its lobes as even that is considered reusing needles, correct PPE (Gloves,aprons,masks ect), the needles must always be opened in front of the client and they will always walk you through the process before during and after. And the aftercare is fully detailed and they stress that you do not use salt water but saline and its WOUND WASH not contact lense solution! The best advice I can give is If the piercing station looks almost medical then chances are your in a safe environment. Xx

      Not only that, but people do make mistakes and it's also about how they own up to it and how they take the feedback- that they'll educate themselves to do better or not do it at all. Plenty of people don't take criticism and feedback well but in this industry, they need to take that stuff seriously because they are potentially hurting people, not just their reputation.

      I remember when I went to a tattoo apprentice. The studio had offered free tattoos to be done by this apprentice artist. You had to submit idea and placement proposals and the studio would pick the ones they liked and you'd get it free, in return for the artist being allowed to publish photos. I applied, and I was shocked that when I was contacted to be told I was selected, they said I was the ONLY person who had asked to see a portfolio of work this lady had done thus far, and the ONLY person who had asked about her certifications eg blood-borne pathogens. Turned out great; one of my favourite tattoos.

    I went to get my septum pierced, and she pierced it wonky the first time. She was so apologetic and asked if I was okay to let her do it again. She did it again, and now its perfect and I'll never go to another piercer besides her EVER. Her honesty really impressed me. I was so thankful she didn't let me walk out with a jacked up septum ring.

      I got my septum pierced wonky the first time too, it was so low down I couldn’t chew food without it touching my upper lip. The piercer made the excuse that “you can change it to a smaller ring and it will look better.” Like he didn’t completely mess up and pierce too low. I went to another shop a few days later and they said it was so low that it was just going to grow out. I ended up taking it out and getting it done by a different piercer in the same shop because they promised upgraded jewelry.

    • @CapnCrimson
      @CapnCrimson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My first one was wonky as well. Like I sat up, and my piercer told me: "oh, I'm not too happy about that one", and then yeah, did it again. It's perfecly healed and fine now, and it's still my studio of choice. Same guy did my conch a week ago.

    • @ophilianecr
      @ophilianecr ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had my septum done back in 2004, along with my bf at the time. The piercer examined our noses, BEFORE he even took out any piercing equipment. He told me mine would be a breeze, almost painless and quick healing (and said i had dream cartilage for piercing, lol)☺️. My bf, however, told him it was going to hurt, his cartilage was thick, without a sweet spot, and it would take a few months to heal well. We both went ahead (we already had piercings).
      True to his word, my septum healed within a week, painless, easy! The bf, well, the crunch of the cartilage I heard during the piercing was LOUD!😨 His septum healed slowly, and took over 3 months. I had 3 more piercings done by this pro until I moved. He set a standard of care I look for with other pros. 😌
      Get yourself a real professional. Somebody who knows their stuff explains your anatomy to you and the procedure BEFORE doing it. A professional has seen enough body parts to make educated guesses on how your body will take the piercing and heal.

Well while she was getting everything prepared she was telling me about all her credentials, how she's been piercing for 16 years, is certified in 6 countries, etc. After the piercing was done I saw it was pretty crooked. I mentioned it to her and she said it was perfect.. basically made me feel crazy. So I sent a pic to the shop owner and a few friends and everyone agreed it wasn't straight. I decided to let it heal for 2 weeks at her recommendation and have it redone. I understand that ppl make mistakes but if u do just own up to it. I paid $100 and if I didn't know the owner I doubt she would have even redone it.

She's the goody-two-shoes type which is great we are total opposites but make great friends because we both breed ball pythons. Anyways she thought I was going to jump off the table but I laid there is still as could be. My friend was pretty impressed by that. I've had plenty of piercings so I know what to expect but after hearing all of her credentials and all of that and the fact that she tried to convince me that it wasn't crooked when it was obviously very crooked really got under my skin and I got more and more irritated about it. I hated contacting the owner I don't want to get her in trouble but if I hadn't have done that I guarantee I would never have gotten that piercing redone. She had me come in the next day and then she finally admitted it was crooked. I don't have a ton of money to be spending $100 on a genital piercing. Not to mention I'm not sure about this maybe you can enlighten me but from every picture I've seen the jewel goes on top and then the ball or flat round metal piece goes on the bottom. She says that the jewel goes on the bottom and that's where the L shape in the bar is I have never seen it that way in any pictures so I think she's doing it upside down. Either way it was just so annoying. It was a pretty painful piercing but I've had natural childbirth so nothing compares LOL. I just hope the second time around goes better. Wish me luck!

He has 4 pairs of gloves for every session. 1 to mark my piercing, 2 for sterilising the instruments (1 putting the instruments into the machine and another 1 to take them out) and another 1 for the piercing process itself. Very hygienic and I couldn’t ask for a better piercer.

    this is so validating watching your reaction to these. I got my septum pierced a month ago today, and it was SUPER painful, the piercer pierced it in the wrong spot, blamed me for it, and then repierced again. I tried my best not to panic and freak out, but even when I was a little nervous, he showed no empathy at all for what had happened. I accidentally screamed from the pain when he was making his "normal adjustments" and all he said was "I'm literal;y just screwing the ball in. I'm not even doing anything. you're gonna have to stop" I kept saying "I know" and trying not to panic but he didn't care. He was very cold and indifferent. needless to say, I didn't tip him.

One of my first memories is my mom repiercing my ears when I was two or three... at home...with a sewing needle... while holding me still on her lap. I've been trying my hardest to convince my mother not to pierce my two siblings' ears so early (ages 3 and 4). She just will not listen, and she brings up how many piercings I have. I am an adult who fully consented to--and paid for-- all of my own piercings and can look after my own piercings, unlike how she will take care of my siblings piercings if they were to get some.
    I think if she could see an entire video on why it's not something good to do, she might change her mind.

She didn’t know what he meant and said yes, after a few months her piercing wouldn’t heal, and she got pressure bump on her piercing. My dear Roly. I watched your reaction video today and I agree with you when it comes to piercing babies ears but I also have to honestly confess that around June or July 1987 I did in fact, pierce my oldest daughters ears. She was born in March so she was 3-3 1/2 months old. At the time it was something pretty much all baby girls got (I know your thinking "and if everyone jumped off a bridge".....haha). I learned my lesson and by the time my other daughter was born I realized this was a huge mistake and I did not get her pierced. I know it really upsets you to even read about it let alone talk about it but I just wanted to say that when I got my daughters done I did have kind of an odd excuse for doing it. About a week before I was at the mall and of course getting groceries with hardly any sleep the night before so I just didn't have the energy to put velcro bows on her almost bald head and a pink dress on her so when some woman saw my stroller she came over wanting a peek at the baby, she leaned in and said what a handsome little man you have there I just about started to cry right there. I remember mumbling something like thank you and got out of there. I went to the bathroom and in a stall I cried for what felt like an hour. Post partum depression really sucks. For some reason, I still don't know why, I was furious, hurt, and about a dozen other emotions and I was determined no one would call her a boy ever again and that afternoon I booked an appointment and well the rest is history. Now I am a grandmother of 6 grandbabies, 3 girls and 3 boys and none of the girls have any piercings. All 6 kids are under the age of 4.
    I just wanted to tell you my story. I let my emotions control my actions and my poor girl paid a price but at least it was a small price and she was absolutely fine 5 seconds after (I had ice cream waiting for her lol). Looking forward to your next reaction video. Love to everyone!!! TTYL.

      You are luckier than I was, I had my nose done with a gun years ago at the time I thought it was fine but there was no Roly to save us then! 😀

    Could you imagine going into the doctor for a procedure then his nurse comes in and touches the scalpel but says don't worry I'm not putting my fingers in the wound..... pretty similar to the woman touching the needle with her bare hands if you ask me

    To those now worried about going to a professional:
    I have 17 piercings and have 4 piercers I go to regularly (one from a shop closer to me and the other three all from the same shop, just depends on whose working when I go in). I've never had a problem with any of them or my piercings :)

      Also, trust reviews! If it's super cheap or has bad reviews, even a few, dont go.
