Set in post-war England in 1947, the play centers on Professor Robert Linden, a dedicated university professor at the University of Burmanley, who staunchly refuses to retire amidst severe rationing and austerity after World War II. The play explores the theories of idealism versus opportunism, generational divides, and the post-war struggle to forge a new national identity.
More please ! Thank you.!
I can relate to a large and vibrant family filled with strong wills and opinions.
Thank you for posting this.
A family's chaotic struggles amid changing times, events, experiences.....evolution of unique individual worlds within the larger social one.
Beautiful and creatively depicted 😊
Solid Theatre is needed now in 2024. Priestley was solid, and N.C. Hunter and Rattigan. Professor Lindon would be disappointed with what we have become. Excellent production, and I read it as it played. My only criticism too many cuts in the text.

Gosh, my ears with those incessant arguments, talk about dysfunctional family. Gave me a headache so I gave up.
What a lot of waffle,I'm so glad my large family did not behave like that. Our family 11 children mum and dad and aunty Ethel who always lived with us. ww1,ww2,and the 50s working hard.
