Commenting for the algo: As many bento's as I've seen you enjoy, I'm afraid that if it were me I would have collected all the bamboo boxes and crafted them into decorator boxes for my home lol. It's good to see you again. Have a great day! :)
Such a beautiful train interior! The many patterns and textures compliment each other. Thank you for mentioning the name of the designer (Eiji Mitooka), as I am now looking for more of his work. I enjoy your videos greatly!
Paper cups, plastic bowls, and wood spoons. For that price i'd expect a bit more. Nevertheless a great and enjoyable video. Thanks for taking us along.
If I worked at that sake brewery, I'd be offended that my product was being served in paper cups like that- it really does have an effect on the taste.
Love to see new vids from Solo, particularly these specialty trains! Lovely décor and meal, I love the woodwork in the compartments. That must be old track they're running on to have that characteristic 'clack-clack' as you run over the expansion joints. New track doesn't have those and is thus much smoother and quieter.
For 390K yen, the dining service could have at least offered some metal silverware, huh. The food and drink are fine enough, but the implements really could use a touch-up, even if glass cups are inviable, and the wood spoon just looked cheap.
Another great video, STJ San! This seems like a lovely leisurely trip from Miyazaki to Oita. The bento box was gorgeous! And, what a travesty to offer a paper coffee cup for that sake! At least there was curry... :) Beppu Bay.... "Sunflower... Sunflower...." Thanks!
It's south western Japan, so about the latitude of North Carolina. I've been to Kumamoto, which is also on Kushu, many times, and I had a car. Lovely area.
Yay, a video from Solo-san! I enjoy seeing local sites, but it had been a while since I'd seen a travel video, and those are my favorite. Thank you! :)
I was wondering about the name of the train, but thankfully you immediately explained. The train looks beautiful and the bento box delicious. However, for me, the journey would be too long (in Shinkansen, it would be less than one hour). And serving sake with a paper cup or curry in a plastic bowl are "no go" for me, in this kind of luxury train.
Such exquisite decor. The use of paper cups, especially, for your sake, was out of kilter with the otherwise elegance. The lunch box was a work of art. I think the motion of the train would have made me sick.
Hello my friend I love the beautiful interior and the bento box looked delicious. Its a shame about the curry .Thanks for the video kind regards from Australia ❤
The scenic views from your window were beautiful and varied but the bumpy ride must have been uncomfortable to experience while eating such a beautiful meal. Your compartment was cozy, cheerful and warm. The chicken curry looked portioned to be but a free sample size. Thought the same thing about the price being too much for just yourself.
Those cushioned seats in your seating area kinda reminded me of the kind of seats I saw in a couple of different teahouses I went to. I was halfway expecting them to serve you a full British style tea service!
😂 the sleepng guy. I'm visiting Kyushu in September this year. But I go with friends aaaaaall the way down to Kagoshima. Hope the Sakurajima will stay quiet 😬😅 Thanks for allways sharing your adventures! Keep up the rising of the curry experiance level 😅
Darn! Everything was going so great. One of my best friends from NY moved to Japan in 1988 -- Cape Toi in Kyushu! I even paused in the beginning to understand how 39 means "san kuu". I even wrote to my best friend asking her if she knows about 39 meaning thank you? I then was eating a homemade organic bowl of chicken curry while watching your video... AND YET, YOU HAD TO GO DESTROY THE WHOLE ENDING BY PLANTING A THOUGHTFORM OF THE STUPID SUNFLOWER SONG PLAYING AND THEN, I COULDN'T GET THE STUPID HORRIBLE SUNFLOWER SONG OUT OF MY HEAD FOR HOURS! That's it -- I'm removing the LIKE I put up there. LOL 😛
Your meal looked so fresh and appetizing. Interior of train so warm and inviting. Thank you for sharing your travels STJ. May your journeys be great 🤗 To those who have seen to miss his recent travels....check his recent videos 😎
Great trip. This train route is combining Airport Train with Regular Train and Luxurious Train all in one trainset. That curry on Snack category rather than meal category is bit weird, but when i see the portion, I know why.
Great video as usual. Japan has such great and unique rail experiences. I wish my country had something similar as well. As other people have mentioned, the bento box looks so nice. Does anyone here know what happens to these boxes once used? Are they re-used / recycled or are the passengers allowed to take them home? Looking forward to the next video :-)
Your never going to top the original curry on "Sunflower?", it was a buffet restaurant and you went back for a second bowl of rice and it was a family size bowl of rice to have with the curry.
❤ your videos!! In regards to the sticker, that could FALL off.. Can someone just take a picture of themselves wearing it and that could be your identification? My eyesight is terrible. I would love to go to japan & hear all the différent....
Bepppuuuuu ..... Bepppuuuuu..... Beeeppuuuuuu That curry looked a little average. Definitely as it said on the menu "Snack" not a real meal worth purchasing. Thanks for sharing.
What a gorgeous train! Sucks a bit that it was slow, but it gives you time to enjoy the scenery and food (if you don’t get motion sickness of course). I absolutely love that you’re covering lots of the Kyushu trains because they’re really cool, and I think that more tourists will be inspired by others like you. Also, do you know how many times I get the Sunflower song stuck in my head? Lots. It’s my favourite flower so I can hear that song almost every time I see one. Anywho…thanks Solo-san and see you next time!
I love how each compartment, has a DANISH Poul Henningsen table lamp, very stylish! Drinking out of a paper cup? Plastic bowls? Wooden spoon👎🏼 The curry looked nasty and cheap. What’s with the Japanese curtain? It would drive me crazy, how it’s moving, no idea why there ain’t privacy doors. That’s a no from me!
I agree that it was pricey for that ticket. While the train is beautiful, I would have expected the seating to be more comfortable where you could recline a bit or put feet up instead of sitting upright in front of a table for over 5 hours. And serving a paper coffee cup with the sake? That's cheap. They could've at least given you a glass or even plastic.
Taki elegancki pociąg a sake podali byle jak. Wcale się nie dziwię irytacji. Raczej powinni o detale i szczegóły zadbać. Porcelana z jakimś grawerem linii kolejowej.
Well, that was an enjoyable, bumpy trip. The food looked really nice. The decor was "busy" for my taste, but I got the design era. I don't understand why you must pay extra because you are travelling alone. Now, if the train was packed and they wanted to maximize butts in the seats, okay, because that compartment looked like it was designed for four people. Just because you want to travel upscale and not in what I call "Cattle Class" is unfair. They can sell more seats then. Ask if you want to pay extra or don't mind having some travelling company. And yes, the trip was pricey regardless.
Cruise ships are the same. Price is per person, double occupancy. If only one person, they loose half the cost. Typically is fifty percent extra if traveling alone. I see their point, but disagree.

"Maybe the portion of curry was proportionate... to disgust" 🤢 ... In the next video/trip I hope to see you enjoy a nice bowl of excellent curry!! 😎 🤣 ❤
"my curry experience level went up" is a great way of saying this curry was not the best you've ever tasted ;) ^_^
He likes curry
@@hamdinger7145 imho everyone likes (or should like) curry 😅
The train was beautiful and the curry looked delish! Thank you for another fabulous trip❤

I wonder if it's a cold box lunch he got.
If I worked at that sake brewery, I'd be offended that my product was being served in paper cups like that- it really does have an effect on the taste.
Yeah….Wood spoons are fine at McDonald’s (in Canada they have to be) but not on a nice train like that…
Sunflower, sunflower…
make it stoooohp
I always know when the food is good if I see ‼️ lol! Great video as always STJ 😊
Love to see new vids from Solo, particularly these specialty trains!

Thumbnail brought me here :) I couldn't wait.
I love this channel.. so relaxing ..😊
I love these japan trains ❤❤❤❤❤
We always look forward to traveling with Solo-sensei.
Thank you STJ. But, for $238, the curry needs to be !! Nice views and very relaxing.
Beautiful train and journey. As soon as you said Sunflower song it popped into my head and now I am singing it at my desk lol Have a wonderful day. 🙂
I love placemats, yours on this trip is especially beautiful.
Beautiful train!

I have told lots of people about your channel, but I haven’t seen one of your videos for ages. Very happy to find this today.
The semi-compartment was gorgeous. Hope the seat was comfortable. Thank you for sharing this ride with us all.
What a beautiful Bento box. The food looked delicious 🎉🎉🎉 0:53
Now this train looks fancy :)
Very nice ride. A little shaky but that is part of the experience charm. Love the countryside.
With those palm trees it reminds me of Florida or California more than japan
I immediately thought of San Diego
I agree, I live in California and that's the first thing that I thought.
It's south western Japan, so about the latitude of North Carolina. I've been to Kumamoto, which is also on Kushu, many times, and I had a car. Lovely area.
Think of the Japanese climate as being similar to the US East Coast. They have snowy mountains in the north, and tropical beaches in the south.
Wow, a fresh upload! Looking forward to the train ride, Solo Travel-Sensei!
Wonderful scenery!
Alright, my friend, embark on yet another incredible adventure! Embrace every moment and savor life to the fullest-you truly deserve it!
That was a very dark curry sauce. Looked like gravy with curry powder in it. I was really amazed you managed it with only one serving of rice 😂😂❤❤
I hope you were able to enjoy some chicken nanban in Miyazaki as well. Lovely video!
So happy to see you today!
I always find those local send offs to be heartwarming, but also kind of sad.

Gorgeous! How do you find these lovely luxury train journeys?

Say what you will, but you had the shiniest train on the Island! 😹
is this a train or a work of art? I was particularly impressed with the 4th car. I want a room like that.
Great trip. This train route is combining Airport Train with Regular Train and Luxurious Train all in one trainset. That curry on Snack category rather than meal category is bit weird, but when i see the portion, I know why.
Nice trip
Agreed - sake should never be served in a paper cup unless it’s a cheap hot sake. But a Junmai Daiginjo??? Never! 👎😮
Why did you have to mention the sunflower song at the end??! Now I won’t be able to sleep and will have nightmares. 😬
Thanks!
Beautifully appointed train cars! You should have brought your Mother or Father for the longer ride!

I think you were a bit disappointed with this trip. Looks like an interesting experience anyway. Thanks for your video.

“Sunflower, Sunflower…”
The train is clean lunch look great the curry,?
suflower song foreshadowing next vlog to be sunflower? hehe
I’m subbed to your food channel but I didn’t know you had a main channel

All that gorgeous food, but with the train swaying, I would not be able to eat..I’m afraid I would bring it all back up.
I am sorry, the swaying made me feel unwell. I enjoyed the part I could watch. Thank you.
Didn't even notice the snoring guy because my dog is also snoring.
Lovely , but $$$$😳
Bepppuuuuu ..... Bepppuuuuu..... Beeeppuuuuuu
That curry looked a little average. Definitely as it said on the menu "Snack" not a real meal worth purchasing.

Almost like Trans Siberian train 1st class wagons.

5 and half hours to go 120 miles, slow train to Oita.
curry for 450 spotted....... Will Solo travel Japan buy it.......?
I love how each compartment, has a DANISH Poul Henningsen table lamp, very stylish!
Drinking out of a paper cup? Plastic bowls? Wooden spoon👎🏼
The curry looked nasty and cheap.
What’s with the Japanese curtain? It would drive me crazy, how it’s moving, no idea why there ain’t privacy doors.
That’s a no from me!
Okay, I really have to learn not to watch these things when I'm hungry.
Извините, не поняла, у Вас произошло изменение названия канала!? Была подписана , а теперь подписки нет! Снова подписалась! И значок на аве другой! 🤞🤷
Now all they need to do is weld all rail with thermite so it is silent 🙂
Nnnoooooooom Not the sunflower song!

heeee, I was unsubscribed! wtf!
I wondered, when the next video is comming and searched and found me unsubscribed. Not cool yt!
Now back to video... 🥰
They are missing out by not selling "36-5" (~Sandwich) on the "36+3" (Thank You) train.

So was the chicken curry a !! or !!! rating? lol
So, clearly, the shuddering as the train travels makes this the diet menu... right?
high maintenance customer

Whoops , the curry wasn't good , they should of known solo-san curry expert was a board ..
Only 1 meal included in a 5.5 hour journey is as bad as being given a paper cup to drink your Sake in! 😞

This is smooth compare to U.S. Amtrak rail services.
