Great video with beautiful footage, really enjoyed it. I too was in Alaska coming a long way with my RV-8 and did pass some of the same spots like Dawson and Talkeetna. It is so much safer flying with two airplanes. You were lucky with the weather as I remember around June 22 the weather in the South of Alaska turned ugly.
Lots of planning was done for sure but there was never any worry. Our pilots always had access to solid information and worked perfectly together to make sound decisions.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed the video. Flights are only tiring when you fly long distances...maybe 5 hrs at a time. Yes, there is heat in the cabin. If the engine fails you can glide short distances, depends entirely on how high you're flying.
At the 11:01 mark of the video you get a good look at the tail camera boom/mount. The Max360 is just under his elbow. At the 7:00 minute mark you get a good look at the front boom mounted Max 360 camera.
We were only in the very southeast corner of Alaska. I believe that the majority of Alaska is still wild and unsettled. Yes, all of AK will see snow in winter.
Beautiful videos my family loves them. CAN T BELIEVE TOU NEED A PERMIT TO HAVE A A GUN FOR PROTECTION. YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR PEOPLE IN CHARGE OR JUST NOT PAY ATTEBTION TO SUCH STUPID LAWS.
@@rickhiebert7352 It's absolutely a good thing. I've never been so mesmerized by a voice as I have by his. On the other hand, I've never felt less like a man than when I watch his videos. I've actually been to his cabin on Upper Twin twice and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
Well thanks then, lol. I totally hear you about admiring Dick’s strength and talent. Definitely humbling. When I was in my 20’s I dreamt of doing what he did.
I can't decide if they are brave or fools. I'm leaning towards the latter. Not prepared to go down over a mountain in a single engine deathtrap, in subzero weather is not being brave. There are old pilots and bold pilots, but no old bold ones.
Lived there in the 80's, loved it. It was the most interesting and beautiful place I've ever lived.
Yes, it truly is a unique and beautiful place.
Great flying, planes, commentary, videoing, scenery and WEATHER! Loved this. Thank-you.
Thanks so much. Pumped that you enjoyed it so much!
I haven't flown in nearly 30 years. This is giving me the bug again. I absolutely love the videos. Keep em comin.

Thank you! Yes, we were beyond fortunate.
Amazing adventure for sure!
Thanks for watching!
That was very cool, thanks
...and thanks for watching!
Beautifully done. Loved the video ❤
Thank you and thanks for watching.
What a beautiful trip. The logistics in planning must be extensive. Lots of "what ifs" to worry about.
Lots of planning was done for sure but there was never any worry. Our pilots always had access to solid information and worked perfectly together to make sound decisions.
Very interesting n great scenery
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video.

Awesome Vid! I noticed that you used the Sentry portable on this trip. Did it work well in the remote areas?
Glad you enjoyed it; thanks for watching. The Sentry worked flawlessly where ever we flew.
How is the camera behind the tail of the Bearhawk attached?

Great....thanks for the prompt reply.
Is all of Alaska settled now and does it all get snowed on in winter time ? Australian !
We were only in the very southeast corner of Alaska. I believe that the majority of Alaska is still wild and unsettled. Yes, all of AK will see snow in winter.
Thats my kinda woods lol
Glad you enjoyed the video!
!!!!!!!!!!!
The voiceover is kimda brutal. Looks like a fun trip tho
It is exactly what I expected and wanted to hear. You mind your manners.
Yes, awesome trip. Sorry you didn't appreciate the extra info...can't please everyone. Cheers though.
Great video! How did the two different planes match up for speed’s?

Thank you and so glad you enjoy them. Yes, silly rules/laws.
Amen I hearing a bot?
Your narration sounds like Dick Proenneke
Is that a good or bad thing? 😂 This is funny as I’ve actually watched his videos a number of times. It wasn’t intentional though.

@@rickhiebert7352 as do I. Alas, life gets in the way. I don’t anticipate being able to live like he did. Sigh
On this episode of White People Who Can Afford Airplanes
There are plenty of non-white people who own airplanes. Troll
