As an owner of a Vizsla, I'd like to mention that the average Vizsla needs at least 1 hour of rigorous exercise daily (if not more), and they frequently get the zoomies. Plus, they are not very considerate of people's boundaries when they are active. If my dog was the size of Clifford, I do believe she could level Manhattan in about 20 minutes.
Evolutionarily speaking, although clifford grew due to the power of love. Species that make their way onto islands typically experience dwarfism, or gigantism over many generations. Which has nothing to do with clifford, I just wanted to bring this up because Islands and Big animals were mentioned in this video.
I like to think that Clifford was made by someone that wanted him to be a war machine, but escaped and got adopted by Emily.

Well that means that his metabolism needs to be slower than that of a smaller dog. And since metabolism speed correlates to lifespan, you could expect Clifford to live a life comparable to that of an elephant, maybe longer.

And the bigger he gets the longer he'll stretch his limited heartbeats, growing older, bigger, more prominent and more loved by earth's inhabitants, until he consumes everything, the planet unable to support the giant red god worshipped by his fearful human followers. And with no following left he'll shrivel up and disappear, no longer any love left to keep his physical body in our universe.

Clifford would overheat extremely fast, and considering he can only release heat through his mouth, he would die of heat stroke the moment the weather went over freezing.

Ok, after giving some thought to the "One Question", I've come up with two possibilities:
1: There's an area in either the local sewage plant or landfill specifically made for when Clifford does his business.
2: He just goes in the ocean. I mean, fish do it all the time and the ocean hasn't changed because of it.
One issue with possibility 2: Dogs are not fish.
Yes, fish go straight in the water they swim in... but fish have very different diets from dogs, and there are animals in the ocean that have evolved to feed on the waste fish produce that prevents it from reaching dangerous levels of filthy. Dogs however do not have very sanitary poop. Most parks have rules that you have to clean up your dog's poop if they do their business on the park grounds, because dog poop can often be harmful to those environments if not properly disposed of. Specifically, the bacteria and germs within the poop can have lasting negative effects on living creatures in the area (humans included).
i am so conflicted right now, I always thought that a giant red dog was a possibility as I watched this show instead of attending science classes,
since that time I have spent years looking at every dog I have been able to find and imagining at what point in their life cycle, do they turn red and grow a few stories taller.
this video has changed my life completely and shifted my views of the world to points I did not think were possible.

Clifford's real big movie is the only thing involving Clifford I ever remember watching, and I remember it being one of my favorites.
Um actually I distinctly remember the lore detail (from an episode I would have watched like 18 years ago...) That Emily Elizabeth and the Howards don't have to pay for the Dog Food out of pocket. Clifford is the mascot for a dog food brand and they pay the family in the form of *massive* bags of dog food.

i'm written this a few times now and i think i've calmed down enough to talk about my criticisms without resorting to petty insults and retorts. it really bums me out to see people who are so uninterested in exploring the possibility of what is real, and applying some pseudo-intellectual arguments to the existence of clifford the big red dog without thinking critical to what has to be wrong about science, rather than what is wrong with clifford the big red dog. do you think mark eaton appreciated being told he was too tall? or ralph sampson that he was also in fact too tall? or that clifford that he is too big and red? the boundary of what science currently understands is pushed by people break the mold and show people others that they are wrong. instead of coming up with faux pas arguments that debate the science and "physics" of if clifford is real, we need to be accepting of new things we don't understand. clifford did star in a movie after all, so it's really annoying me (i was the 3rd stunt double backup costume designer btw...) when people just pass that off as cg.
