My father has a typical white Previa. This car wont die and he had it since 1992. He thinks this car will never die, but we are secretly hoping it does so he can get a new one. I wonder though if Toyota unintentionally created a car with a very long life shell? Because these cars just seem to last so long. Worth the investment though.
I like the kouki model Estimas. The headlights and taillights look so cool! I also noticed that there are a TON of Estimas and Previas in Canada when i went to Vancouver this summer.
wow! almost new one. =) oil system is arranged very interesting. the windows are perfect. kist perfect! if I'm not wrong, front seats can also be rotated 360°. transformer-interior. :-)6 the car has only one disadvantage - the load is limited at about 500kg. cause rear suspension is pretty weak.
Lovely looking Previa, that's what the Estima is called here in North America. My only complaint would be their lack of a second sliding door on the left side passenger door. Most minivans today have sliding doors on both the driver's side and the passenger's side. That would've made it easier to get in and out of the van from either side.
brake master cylinder and air intake box are reversed. 1991 and up to 1992 Previa were bulletproof, built like tanks. I have never seen interior that holds up as good as this car . I have a 26 year old Previa, and the interior is practically brand new and it's always outside in the sun and rain. Whatever they used for the material they need to use it on the Siennas, as my 10 year old Sienna's dash is cracked and I have seen the same problem on every single Sienna.
Hi Derek, i have a small question...you said that this is a 7 seater but i cand only see 6, is possible that on last row of seats to stay 3 persons? Also there are just 2 headreasts...i hope you cand understand me. I am happy to see that you bought a Honda MPV, i have a Honda Stream which means ai got the right car :D Anyway, great work with these videos and greetings from Romania, Europe
+gugurobert My stat catalogue shows it is a 7 seater but I wonder if they were available with both. Perhaps my stats only show the 7-seat version...? There are some vehicles like the Delica that are like that. You are absolutely right... the third seat would have to be right in the back and it looks like there is only space for two there.
why? It has a magnetic bolt at the bottom of the sump, like any other car, and then you fill up the oil tank from the front bonnet, almost all services are at the front. Oil filter is underneath and VERY easy to screw out as it has plenty of space.
I've changed the oil on like 50 of these.. you wouldn't imagine what you find under the seat that the owner forgot to take out.. or what else you might encounter! XD
+Unboxings13 and the later models have superchargers! It is also 50-50 weight balanced and uses a cool driveshaft system to place the alternator, PS, and AC accessories in a rateable place through the hood. the engine engine is almost laying flat on its side and these are known to hit 300,000 miles in many cases.
I am curious, when you say the vehicle needs to be inspected for radiation, does this have to do with what happened at Fukushima, or is this something different? Forgive my ignorance, I just haven't known of an inspection like this.
What ? AWD ?? ,I saw many of these where I live and my neighbors has one too , but I never knew these cars are AWD !! , just when you think you've seen everything 😬 .
Spin seat lmfao!!! chrysler had that option in 2008 but it failed ( good thing tho), and the moonroof, shame toyota didn't carry that option to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Gen sienna ( until it's mid cycle refresh)
Any Toyota 1994-2000 RAV4 - SXA Chassis code (1st Generation) I'm looking for rare parts that were only specific on Japanese models, if you ever see any please check them out! (some came with a nudge bar with Bosch Fog Lamps) Thanks!!!
Yeah, I was wondering if you could ever do a video if you see a nice two door RAV4. I know you must be really busy and whatnot. I know there's a specific model of the RAV4 that came with a 3S-GE Beams engine, those are the ones I'm mainly looking for. Many Thanks!!!!!
Who in the hell is going to buy a right-hand drive vehicle in Canada or the States? There is no market for this kind of vehicle unless it a Nissan GTR or equivalent..
+Aaron Li Imagine back to 1990 and a 20 year old lot boy, earning 5 USD/hour encounters the space-egg Previa, unlike anything being sold in the US at the time. He can't imagine ever being able to afford something like a Previa, much less a Previa Alltrac. 25 years later he sees this 16,000 mile Estima 4WD, and starts thinking...hmm. By now, most US Previas have rusted out and are junked. Out west, there are rust-free Previas, but they have 200,000 - 500,000 miles. Estimas don't pull good money at auction, typically 300-600 USD...this one a little more. So, with fees, customs, shipping and so on he gets what he considers a special car, and could easily be driven as a daily driver, for less than 5,000 USD. ...And of course, one can't deny the "still JDM yo" pull!
+blackout-coyote Back in the late 80s and early 90s was a weird time for Japanese car makers. Imagine you take the school librarian and give her cocaine... she lets down her hair for the first time and does all sorts of crazy things before coming to the realization that this is not sustainable.

this vehicle has no planned obsolescence at all. mine is 25yo, 130.000km and still rolling strong.
Mine is a 1994 4WD with 450,000 Km. Still running like a champ.
I like the kouki model Estimas. The headlights and taillights look so cool! I also noticed that there are a TON of Estimas and Previas in Canada when i went to Vancouver this summer.

I have a ‘93 Previn, same color with dual sun roofs on mine. 150k miles on it, runs like new.

Want one, can you find one for me? Best regards from The Netherlands
Wow, what an awesome video Derek, thanks for sharing
i have one AWD too very nice SAME COLOR RUN ON SNOW SUPER GOOD
We have one and it has 320,000 miles and its supercharged rwd
One of mine is 340k AWD, and the other is 191k AWD I bought recently as an upgrade.
"the power steering fluid is on minimum that might be a little bit low" You think?
the us comes with a sunroof and the other thing is that the door is on the other side
is the holy grail version the awd supercharged version that came in later years? i only read about them never seen one in person...
Yup. That's the Holy Grail version. They are very good, it's true.
Still JDM yo
+Eddie Is Satan I like the way you think.
also if you have captains chairs in your previa or estima they can turn

+PacificCoastAuto ok, thanks for answer
Live in Jamaica have a 1994 Toyota previa love it where can I get some off the market parts
Changing the oil on these things-- what a rigamarole.

do the cars have to have their petrol tanks drained? or can they be sent to the USA with petrol in them
I know I am a few years late but my mum thought the sonar sensors on the Lucida were cool
So its basically an Audi R8 because its mid engined and awd?
+Unboxings13 and the later models have superchargers! I think he meant front-mid engine, not mid engine. So not R8
+PacificCoastAuto Dayuuuum.... The word 'Auction' is spelt wrong in the title :)
What was the end cost of the auction and import on this vehicle?
What is the coolest car that you have seen in an auction?
Hi. We're desperately seeking some mechanical advice on this vehicle. Anybody have a suggestion?
Any classic mini's down there?
here in Australia they call these a toyota tarago and are fwd I feel like we got ripped off not getting awd haha
+Jacob Mahoney And no ice maker...
PacificCoastAuto yes total disappointment about no ice maker haha
In the us they are rwd
+Jacob Mahoney
previa in the us we got rwd or awd on ours but i am pretty sure some of the jdm ones have a stick shift 5 speed.
No, this model was rwd, (apart from the 4 x 4 version, rare in Australia) the next model introduced in 2000 was fwd.
Iv got one of those but it is a lusida estima lx
I am curious, when you say the vehicle needs to be inspected for radiation, does this have to do with what happened at Fukushima, or is this something different? Forgive my ignorance, I just haven't known of an inspection like this.
+rml695 Yes, after the Fukushima thing, the radiation checks started. They are 1500 yen at my main port but it varies.
me gusta muchos la toyota previa cuanto vale esta en buena condición
How to transfer parking brake to the middle from the right side near the door?
LHD conversion in the Philippines
Francis Litan you need custom fabrication
you cant do that and it's not in the middle in the first place because of the hump in the floor because of the engine
What ? AWD ?? ,I saw many of these where I live and my neighbors has one too , but I never knew these cars are AWD !! ,
just when you think you've seen everything 😬 .
Not all of them are awd
how could i get job importing cars?
over 20 y.o. 20k miles?
how to riset sliding door?
It’s a 2 seater in the back, that is strange, normally it’s a 3-seater
Spin seat lmfao!!! chrysler had that option in 2008 but it failed ( good thing tho), and the moonroof, shame toyota didn't carry that option to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Gen sienna ( until it's mid cycle refresh)

+.XeviouS. We don't deal in parts at the moment (but that might change). though- there are a lot of Rav4s here and they sell for really cheap.
+PacificCoastAuto i was wondering why you guys weren't importing engines? seems to be an infinite market there.
I used to have one... cool car but importing one???
+twitch01 Ice box
+PacificCoastAuto hmm but mine had two rows of bench seats. TWO
+twitch01 I am trying to think of something clever and funny to say but can't think of anything. Sorry to let you down.
+PacificCoastAuto oh don't worry about it. This Estima actually made a cameo in my dream last night.
Nice
Is it an automatic car?
we have the same 1990 estima like his and it is automatic
Who in the hell is going to buy a right-hand drive vehicle in Canada or the States? There is no market for this kind of vehicle unless it a Nissan GTR or equivalent..
Nice :)
Good van but sry to say this is suck bad on a crash the front wheel always push in to the floor and brake your feet
Why would anyone want to import one of these to the US???
+Aaron Li To have the only one in the USA... and the only one with an ice making box in the centre console.
+PacificCoastAuto weird how Toyota just decided..hey let's put an ice box, of all thing to put, in this car because why not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
+Aaron Li Imagine back to 1990 and a 20 year old lot boy, earning 5 USD/hour encounters the space-egg Previa, unlike anything being sold in the US at the time. +PacificCoastAuto Where you that librarian Derek......... Go on Derek.......You can tell us.....lol
ГДЕ ТАКУЮ КУПИТЬ?
why would anyone in the US want this?
why would anyone in the US NOT want this....
they were sold in the US so they aren't exactly exotic?
Не может она быть 1989 года
