I have the V730 on order, and was concerned with the lid flipping over due to winds. This is a perfect solution and you did an excellent job of explaining and demonstrating how to install.

@@MasterofNone365 Took me about 3 hours, and 2 cups of coffee. I like to take my time and enjoy working on projects like this. Followed your measurements and it cane out PERFECT!!! One thing iI did differently was to screw in the hardware first, then once all set up take out one screw at a time and insert the pop-rivet. Works beautifully. Cant wait to use it this weekend, great place to store my fly rods, vest, etc. securely.

Just did my V800. Used your same measurements. Since essentially they’re the same box, mine is just a bit longer. But width is the same.
    Worked perfectly
    Thx!!

Gonna follow your advice on this build. I have the V800 and aside from the length and weight of the lid being slightly bigger, it should work out just as well. My question, based on the fact I've never riveted anything before, is, couldn't you have inserted the 3rd rivet from inside to hold the side pivot?

Ahhh, a second look shows how close it is to the angled plastic. I had originally thought it was inside the hollow section.

You'd have to put it into the calculator to get an accurate length. I've found that it's ok to go a little shorter or longer as long as the lid isn't being obstructed by anything when it opens. Thanks for watching!

Are there any issues with water or condensation?

I personally haven’t but my boxes don’t live on my truck. I only use them when I go on longer trips. I’ve heard mixed things from others about long term uses. Some have said they’ve had leaks and others said they’ve never had a problem.

@@fransiscon I think you’d be fine if that’s the case. Plus, leaving them on all the time when you don’t need to kind of sucks because it’s a little louder and might hurt your gas mileage. Thanks for watching!
