Great atmosphere at the cowboy-themed restaurant - the only thing missing was some country music. You provide such a nice description and video of the places you visit, and the drone footage is amazing, offering a fantastic overview of the surroundings.
It’s the SCTEX, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway. Been to Texas Joe’s a few times, good bbq there. My first visit to Subic was in 1986 as a young US Navy sailor. My eldest daughter was born in Olongapo a year before Mt Pinatubo erupted. I have relatives in my birth father’s side that still reside there.
So the old base is actually called - SBMA. Which stands for Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority. A government agency in the Philippines that manages the development of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBF). The SBMA was formed in 1992 to develop the former US Naval Base Subic Bay into a self-sustaining economic zone. Harbour Point is a nice modern Mall, Opened in 2012. With a lot of the Brand name shops, but also at the normal Brand name prices. Also a larger size American Premium Brand Outlet (Level2). There are also some large Brand name Sport outlet shops on the way into SBMA. The place to go swimming, is at All Hands Beach, Next to the Runway, or all the way around to Camayan Beach. Water quality should be better here. A lot of the beaches in Subic Bay are not ideal for swimming, due to water quality issues. A pool is still the preferred option, unless you can get away from river outflows etc.
Informative. Do you know if there is a grocery store there that carries US foods? Here in Bangkok, we have one store that has some but extremely limited US items (mostly Aussie brands) and crazy expensive.
@@brucehuddler7518 thanks for the info but not a military retiree so I have no access. Was wondering more about local stores trying to draw expat customers.
Wow the food looks good! That's something we don't have here in Bayambang Pangasinan. As a former Vancouverite, I miss a good steak, poutine and pizza. But I've fully adapted to the local cuisine here - especially the street food and bbq - something that barely exists in Canada! Enjoying your vids!
They also have 2 sm malls ,one which is very new and big....also an open concept golds gym right there beside the lighthouse and circle and the huge victory gym
Mike I live back in states right now but have restaurant right out front gate called Vegas cafe make right on Gordon Ave. go try the pizza on me Terry. I will let them know lol
You’re so funny with all the cowboy terms 😂…I think your girlfriend might not get your humor but it’s still funny…your daughter is adorable as well.. fun video
Michael cud be an honorary Texan. He says he spent lots of time there for his job/prior company. This is just my opinion as an American: one of the beauties of Texas is anyone in the world can love it & claim it as their own if they have a heart for it …deep in the heart of Texas…💛

I don't know how Luzon became so overlooked by so many vloggers. The north of the island is great with almost no expats if you're looking for that. Some of the areas south of Manila are also very nice while it puts you within distance of the big city and those conveniences (minus the god awful traffic). Even in Cebu it's just too hard to find some things but as long as you are willing to pay a delivery driver most things around that area can be on your doorstep in a 2-3 days or less and you skip the hit or miss experiences with couriers.
Do you know if there is a grocery store there that carries US foods? Not one or two items but a clone of a US store. Here in Bangkok, we have one store that has some but extremely limited US items (mostly Aussie brands) and crazy expensive. Or do you know of one in Manila or Cebu?
Nice video!! Just to let you know Laura is not crabby as you always say! She is spolied and needs a little correction by her mother. You think its bad now wait it will get worse she might need a little pat on her butt or time out at home to nip her bad attitude..and i notice she doesnt listen very well either.
Don't know if it's the case here. But generally speaking, I'd say it's the problem of the "modern family". When parents split up, which is quite common both in the Ph. and the West today, the mother often becomes the most influential person in kids' lives, hence all the confused gender roles, etc, etc. And often when parents are no longer together, each parent, assuming they at least have visiting rights may feel a good relationship with their kids are very important, since kids in some ways get the power to influence which parent they wanna live with after a divorce. Hence single moms tend to discipline their kids less, since they don't want them to get "any ideas" about living with their fathers instead, which is considered a "disaster" for many ladies in the West, since they'll lose the child support if that happens. As for divorced fathers, at least in the West it's quite common they feel the need to "open up the wallet" and buy their kids whatever they want, so they won't become estranged, like many fathers have before them. And then you put another guy into the picture, mommy's new bf or "the stepdad", they usually don't have much saying over the kids that ain't theirs and also often compensate by "opening the wallet". It's a bit of a shame the way things have evolved in terms of relationships, no wonder so many turns to social media instead of real connections.
In these area you can own 100% of a Philippines corporation and corporations are there own person just like in the USA since it's its own person and it's Philippines it still follows the rules. That's how it was explained to me. Check out here boi.gov.ph/resources/faqs/

I heard something about the US. Coming back to the Philippines due to some Chia issues.
They have started to put bases within bases here instead of building a whole new base they are adding to existing Philippines military bases
You can rent or lease the houses in Triboa Bay area for 30 years . That's the way you can live in Subic . SCTEX is beautiful going to Subic .
Nice hats! Luv the color of Cat’s! Oh Larra wud be too too cute wearing one, maybe blue …or lilac! too bad. lol. Blessed Xmas greetings to y’all ❤️💚

Soon to be a new AirForce base and revitalized naval support base with U.S. Subic will be very busy again in no time.

Go to City Spa in Olongapo.
Wait , which camera you use inside Joes? It went poor quality when you went inside.
Usually your camera does great in darker places.
