Oh but there's a good route up from Penygarreg dam over the hill and down the old golf course byway back to town. Definitely a better return than down the family trail or road.

Hi. I used the route plan on Komoot (see link)but it is quite well sign posted when you get off the initial road section. Thanks.

I did this very ride on my 60th birthday last summer though the track up to Claerwen was too waterlogged. Excellent ride. Are you on an e-bike here?
