At the start of the video I thought to myself you’d put a swimming pool on your table. 😂 What you created is lovely. It looks like a shot of earth from the space station. Even before you flipped it over, the bottom was so shiny,it was like black glass. ❤

Before you added the oil, after the mini leaf blower: it looked like a river running through a pastoral scene. (With a lake on one side of the river). The oil has created an umph that wasn't there before. Tracey, this bowl is so unique and beautiful!❤❤❤

Awesome video Tracey. It looks beautiful. I wanted to suggest that a needle tip bottle with a little lite cause to the tip to make it a little smaller would be good for placing the silicone oil. Thank you for sharing and i can't wait to see what your next video is going to be
Good thought,that would actually increase the amount applied dramatically per spot. This was a lot smaller than a drip from a needle tip bottle, this entire project took one drip. Would be interesting to see what much larger amounts like drops from a needle tip bottle would do though, good thought. I think, massive cells, which could be interesting

Beautiful! If it's hard the next time, you just immerse it in hot water and it will soften. I watched this on Petra's channel. give it a look - pretty cool method.
Yes I mention I might need to use heat, that is the easiest way that I have found over the years. Thankfully it wasn't necessary this time

Fantastic idea, it looks great. I have one of these blowers, I used to do similar with alcohol inks with it then then use the dotting tool in alcohol and dot the ink ☺
Cool, I plan to try it with alcohol inks soon. Do you have a TH-cam Channel? I'd love to see what you do with this
@@miniscenesgb no, I don't have a channel but if you're going to try it, practice on the back of photo paper, it works well. Not the front as the inks won't move

OMG TRACEY!! That song you used!!! I need it!! Where did you get that from??!!! I want to hear it all!! Did you get dips/divots in the resin from the oil?? If so I know an oil that will cause lacing and not leave any dips! The bowl is gorgeous as expected very planet earthish! You know I adore you! Always here to show support any time I can! No the oil didn't do what I hoped but it was interesting anyway. Oh the music - I make it using Suno AI. I just tell it what I want and it spits out songs. Yes I had a great time at Makers. The best bit was the hotel bar at night, so many fab people to hang out with
@@miniscenesgb I'm so jelly!! Id love to have been there! Meeting all my favorite art family! Did you get to see Claire?? She's so lovely! Try mixing a few drops of the oil in a few of your colours then pour them together and blow them around! It gives amazing effects! I found that a low viscosity silicone oil works best in resin because it doesn't leave dips/divots at all and creates the most amazing effects! I absolutely have to try that suno AI that sounds amazing!!

I think any oil l would but I used silicone as I knew that wouldn't damage the mould. I know some oils - like whatever is in baby oil, definitely degrades latex and possibly silicone so I stuck with silicone oil :)
I wonder how it would look to use a mister spay bottle to add the oil!?
Not tried that but would be interested to see what covering the entire surface with an amount of oil hundreds of times ore than what I did. Might be an interesting experiment.
