    Fantastic review, only one I have seen to mention both the environmental impact (good bit of extra waste) and also the security impact!

    Quality... yes, hazardous... absolutely! I rather the polaroid zip, wich all you need is the sheets of paper and that's it! After all, those mini photos are for the solely purpose of creating mini/portable memories, or stick them on your fridge. Thanks for the wonderful review!!

    This print seems nice but I don’t know I feel less « magic » to use it than and old polaroid 600. But could be fun ! So why not ?

    I wanted to react on your other video about the polaroid mint (but got distracted I guess?) You can use the best paper in the world, but if your printer isn't up for the task, you'll get sh*t prints. Love your video's btw!!

    My concern is that the cartridges are disposed of in the trash. If Polaroid offers some sort of recyclable cartridge program, I would definitely be interested. Our environment is already messed up as it is.

    I'm in the market for a portable phone printer. Bluetooth connection preferred. What is a pocket, portable printer that is best for battery life, connectivity, and I easily could buy quality film prints at a physical store or online store in 2022 or 2023?
    Polaroid Hi-Print, HP Sprocket, Instax Mini Link or Instax Mini Evo?, Canon Ivy or Selphy Square or Kodak P300R???

    I just got mine in the mail and I quickly realized I didn’t do the appropriate research before investing. Maybe “investing” is a stretch for some but for me $100 is a lot. Anyway, I have the Polaroid zip and I’ve been happy with it but it’s not working anymore. I love this technology because I scrapbook and this makes it so easy to put memories on paper. But the cartridge system is a huge turn off. That’s just much waste and not enough prints for the price. Thanks for your video. I really appreciate this content.

    Thank you for making this video :D
    I really liked the concept and the way it prints on paper...it looks so freaking cool to look at it create the print. But it's great that you mentioned the environmental impact :( Looking at the size of the print and all the waste it creates, I don't think it's very worth it.
    Sure instax minis produce alot of waste too, but I feel like it's more worth it at the end? I guess because it's an actual photo and not a print?
    not sure haha maybe that does not make sense
    But I still love the design of this little printer :)
    PS: Do you have any knowledge about the environmental impact of zink printers?

    • @JustAnotherChris
      @JustAnotherChris  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you liked the video! As far as I know zink paper is way better for the environment since there’s way less waste it’s just the wrapper it comes in however the quality isn’t as good.

    • @JimIBobIJones
      @JimIBobIJones 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Evoking environmental impact of waste disposal is such a hipster-feel-good point that is blind to what is actually impacting the environment.
      As bad as landfill and waste disposal is, it is a miniscule issue compared to all the other shit that is going on environmentally - such as global warming, deforestation and destruction of ecosystem diversity which are genuine paradigm shifting crises rather than a "nice to solve" problem like landfilling. Focusing on waste whilst all the other shit is going on is like mowing the lawn when your house is burning down. Even in terms of your own, individual environmental footprint, it is a drop in the ocean.
      There are no solid calculations of how much space landfills take up across the globe, but there was one of how much space the US's waste for the next 100 years would take up in landfills (assuming the population doubles in that time) and it was 250 square miles. Which is a lot, but that's 0.000004% of the earth's landmass. The US accounts for 12% of the world's waste and landfilling has been around for just over 100 years (started in the late 1800s).
      Being very "generous" and assuming that waste production has been at modern rates since inception, that would put 0.000003% of the earth's landmass as landfill sites. Which by the way is a massively exaggerated number - waste generation has grown exponentially as time has passed - due to both increased populations and increased consumption and the estimate used above was based on future (higher) waste generation than modern or historical numbers.
      Also FYI, instax minis are digital cameras with a dye sub printer attached. They aren't like polaroid cameras - where it is the physical exposure that creates the image on the film. With Instax, it is a printer doing it after the photo is taken digitally. So you aren't getting any more of an "actual photo" with Instax compared to using a portable printer.

    I might pick one of these up, my only issue is that $17 for 20 shots is expensive for 2x3. I agree, the ZINK paper is crap. Returning my Canon Ivy Cliq 2, so a Dye Sub 2x3 printer would be great. Im also returning my Kodak Smile Classic camera too because its ZINK but I LOVE the size, which is 3.5 x 4.25 Its larger than any Polaroid or Instax prints, its awesome, they just need a Dye Sub version of it. The camera is huge, no reason why they chose ZINK for it. But at least I have the Kodak Mini Shot 3 Retro which is a Dye Sub 3x3 camera/printer.
