    I am so glad this place was saved from oblivion. It came close a few times over the years. Went there is a child in the late 60's. Very magical.

    What a sad looking place. It needs a lot of love and some modern features and it can again be a popular place for the young and young at heart. 🎅🤶🎄

      @@Amazing_80 Oh, I meant sad as in it can use some sprucing up with new paint and adding more attractions. I still miss Santa's Village from when I was a kid and that was a long time ago now.

    I can't believe this place still exists. I had pretty much forgotten about it. I grew up about a half hour south of there and I remember going there when I was a kid (mid-late 70s to early 80s). I really wish I'd gotten to see it when it was abandoned!

    An excellent place, ahem...as... I would also say as the Christmas and/or Winter Holiday/Break song... "It's the Most Wonderful Time (and Place) of the Year"... I wish we had a place like that in my neck of the woods. Anyway, I appreciate you and your significant others for sharing this marvelous seasonal place. 🤜🤛💪🤙👍🖖

    I remember going here with my mom and dad back in the early 1990's. They used to have an igloo shaped restaurant. Watching this just brought back so many memories. Thank you for sharing your family's experience ❤

      i am from MA and iremember going too around that time i was like 8 or 9 and my sis(4 years younger), it was nice. my stepdad would drive around bit longer to make my sis think we were going to the north pole. we just went this past weekend to there with our parents and my 7 year old nephew. i remember eating in that igloo too. the slide was fun for my sis and i but some reason my nephew was traumatized. it was a pain for me getting up the hill due to hard packed somewhat iced snow. i am 42 and not as agile as i was in childhood. i didn't fall but it was a miracle i made it up. i feel like the place could have built some stairs. we didn't freeze we dressed extra warm. my nephew got two trips on the antique cars the guy asked him and of course he say yes. there was no line waiting either. he went on the carousel himself because the rest of us are fatties. kiddo went on fun house and then wanted to go again and wanted me to come with him. we made our day longer as the trip was 2hrs. we ended up at Yankee Candle village, then we had dinner. oh it was nice and our parents paid for all yes us 2 big kids too. he got a lollipop from chatting with santa and then my sis took a pic of him with the big guy. nephew konked out minutes after leaving to head back and my shoulder was his pillow. it's good he wore himself out.

    Tom, what a nice video you have made! We took my daughter there when she was three in 1998 and she loved it. She enjoyecd feeding the deer, she rode on the rickety large scale train, the igloo restaurant was separate from the structure you showed us and it was not open and looked old and neglected. They had just made a rough dig out of the land before the large slide was put in , I thought they may have had a post office there where they would stamp Santa Land on your mail. Glad they saved this place it will nice for future generations!❤😂 Nice job!!!

    That might have been the one in the building across the street from Astro land.. I rode that carousel many many times, and I have done restoration on a similar carousel in Cooperstown .. it’s an Allen Herschel carousel.. the reason for the weight limit is the horses are next to impossible to replace.. older carousel horses are either hand carved or casted , newer horses are usually fiberglass
    You’re about right on the funhouse .. mid 70s early 80s and looks like a funnifrite funhouse

    • @thaismatsumoto
      @thaismatsumoto 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We have a carousel here and it was moved here and restored over the years. The horses were all hand carved by local artists and opened. Unfortunately, where they finally put it wasn't ideal and it's now closed. Basically it's in a CVS parking lot.Shame ,because there is nothing wrong with it other than location.
