'94 was a kick ass year to be a kid and have a Sega Genesis! We got 2 Sonic games that year!!! I was 9 years old. I remember coming home from school one day and my mom was playing Sonic and Knuckles! It was my early birthday present!!!! I played the hell out of sonic 3 and Knuckles! It's still to this day my favorite game of all time!
F yeah me 2 that's why when I found out how to debug, you best believe I went up there at the water fall with that bridge button and transformed into super wishing he could fight back.
I really wish they’d used that animation in the cutscenes, instead of chuckling at you he could’ve taunted you with the emeralds you hadn’t collected yet by juggling them right in your face.
To answer the question, yeah, the sample is Michael beatboxing! Just like in the beginning of Strager In Moscow, the song this was based off of (or vice versa maybe?)
When I was a kid and I finished Sonic 3 for the first time I heard the music I turned up the volume on the TV very loud my parent told me to turn it down. I said I just finished the game. I didn’t get the Knuckles and Robotnik bit. I got all the emeralds and got Super Sonic.
I have no idea why this Sound Driver sounds like this when running in PAL. Sonic 1 was slower, Sonic 2 was the same in NTSC and PAL, Sonic CD uses CD Audio, and the PCM Tracks sound the same, and then in the last instalment, they mess it up!
@@Nekiplex The first few are, although the sudden speed up of the later special stages can throw people off guard and also the risky jumps that has to be made in some of them.

After collecting all of the emeralds your save game always has Super Sonic unlocked, even if you start from the first level. Also, the big special stage rings will give you 50 rings instead. As for the ending, you get to see Sonic and Tails rather than Knuckles and Robotnik
I'd really hate to break it to you (and be late by a year), but MJ passed away June 25th, 2009. Also, another small correction: "Thomas" is Takashi Yuda's nickname, as well as him being entirely Japanese. With these fixes, the Brazillian flag will be sent back to where it belongs. Also, I don't know if the Chinese flag deserves to be here...

It's not just Sonic 3 that wasn't fully optimized in the audio department. Sonic 3D suffers from it too...
@@gengar-1997 Oh yeah! They both share the same Driver.
Sonic 2 wasn’t exactly the same in PAL, it also sounds slightly off.

It was just slightly lower pitched.
That Sonic 3 end credits song was probley the best in my opinion. Thanks for updating the video!

This is the tempo that I'm more used to. Listening to the NTSC version after listening the PAL version for too long just makes NTSC feel.. off.
I'd like to know if there is a reason why this has suddenly gained 500 views in a month. Could someone explain?

No, the sample is not MJ beatboxing. It's supposed to emulate MJ's voice, but it's actually from a sample library.
Do you know which sample library it is from?
When those fucking endings are good❤ or bad the emeralds gather together with knuckles right?
I think the sample library is from Sonic 3/Sonic and Knuckles. Like the samples in the mini boss theme
That's true of the voices in Launch Base, the S3 miniboss etc. but of this theme? Don't know if the origin has been found.
@@mrboost4186 The samples are all the same in-game.
Stranger in Moscow?
Yup
Exactly
Yes, this Brad Buxer tune became Stranger in Moscow.
Wouldn't this be good for knuckles since he is the protector of the emeralds?
The problem: he’s still working for Eggman at this point.

Is this recorded off a pal machine? I know this sound engine was optimized as best as possible for 50hz but was still a smidgen slower
Yeah, exactly that. I used my own PAL machine to record this. I didn't even know the music was slower until recently.
What instrument is used for the main melody?
I think it's just a synth. I don't think it's supposed to be any particular instrument
@@andyukmonkey I think the main instrument is bass. iirc there are preset instruments for the chip
I am assuming that this was on a pal genesis because of the speed. But I wonder if it actually is. Is it on a pal genesis?
Yes I was using my own original PAL Mega Drive. It's a very late model 1 from about 1993 and I recorded it through the headphone jack.

Yeah it's a PAL console.
You know what, I might just change the video title to make that more obvious since people keep asking.
