Max Howard that is not the wing, well half of it is but when the plane touches down,it touches down on the back wheels which gives the plane a little height, so the wing drop is the nose or the plane coming down on all its wheels
Actually, the wing does droop after touch down, as it is no longer creating lift. You ought to see this viewed from behind the aircraft on touch down. Its impressive. The wing droop, or relaxing, can be seen easily on many of the large aircraft. Ever seen the wing bend B747-400 on take off?
Beautiful video! You can see the water vapor heavily forming above the wing on short final because of the lift-generating vacuum. And of course, when the huge plane's weight is transferred to the landing gear from the big wings after touchdown, the wings droop down because they are no longer lifting the plane.
This video at 7:19/25:29 you can see the intersection of Grand Ave and Amar Ave at the bottom and middle of the picture, Mt Sac college at this intersection, Cal Poly University on its right, freeway 10 on the top across the entire picture. At 8:05/25:29 you can see the intersection of Amar st and Asusa Ave at bottom of the picture, in the middle those are the new baseball fields, Target store, Home Depot and BKK land fills on the right side of Asusa Ave
A friend of mine works at the LAX Control tower and I have been up there! I love listening to them line up the planes over Palm Springs in a concerted effort! The LAX Ground Controllers are also fun to listen to! I want a job working in the control tower or at NORCAL approach!
+Dantorp Aviation You must be very rich to be traveling around the world like this!Im jealous but keep up the great videos!Ive been a fan for almost 4 years now!
Hey Daniel... Nice as always. FYI - as you are on a straight in approach (more or less) for 24R, the flight path is over the San Bernardino Mts (basically over Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead area). The Hollywood Hills, which are part of the Santa Monica Mts., don't start until you pass just east of Downtown LA. If it was a clear afternoon, you probably could have seen the Hollywood sign on the hill side, as you got closer to LAX. (I know you can see it from Imperial Hill). The captain must have touched down around the 1K foot marker, as reverse thrust was applied as you passed the Lincoln Bridge. I've seen an A380 of Korean Airlines touch down at the Bridge. That was scary... The guy got it stopped, though, even using max reverse thrust, I'm sure the brakes were smoking hot at the end of the landing roll. I've got pictures.... Cheers, Tony
I really enjoyed watching the plane landing, some stunning scenery.Maybe you could turn the camera around sometimes so that we can see what the plane looks like from a passenger's point of view.I doubt if i will ever fly on this one.
People who only film out the window and totally ignore the interior and food service etc irritate me. In this particular video I understand why they didnt show all that....the idea was just to film the approach and landing, and not the journey in general.
This is the 1st time I've been up in a plane since 1966 when as a kid my father who was in the British army , as a family were flying back from a 4 posting in Cyprus to dear old blighty . The plane I flew back to the UK in was a VICKERS VANGUARD I think it may have had PROPELLERS . It didn't half rattle if I remember correctly .
mooie gave video, voor mij is deze vlucht met UA boeing 777-300ER in 1998 op 2 6 oktober, met de Royal Dutch Airforce Asosation 50th anyversry. 16 day aroud the U.S.A. militaire air fields visiting.super cooool.also 1 visit on the U.S.S. John.C.Stennis Aircraft Carrier Nimitz class.
like the sound of those corkscrew jacks doing their thing on the flaps. Who'd would of known that just not adding a little grease to those jacks would cause a plane to go down. Example...Alaska Airlines.
$400 million aircraft....would have been more, but Airbus saved a ton of money by not bothering to soundproof the hydraulics that operate the flaps. Geezus, that's loud. At least it only goes on for a few seconds. Nice video, by the way.
As an Angeleno, I have to point out that what you're seeing at 4:55 is actually the San Gabriel Mountains. The Hollywood Hills just refers to the area around the Hollywood Sign. Fantastic video, Dan!
+IsoscelesKramer Yup. San Diegan here, I was looking for the Hollywood sign and not seeing it. I finally thought this is just the San Gabriels, probably north of Rancho Cucamonga, Glendora, etc.
Right, the video zooms in on the racetrack in Fontana, that's south of the Cajon Pass separating the San Bernardino Mountains from the San Gabriel Mountains. The flight path parallels the 10 FWY all the way into LAX, the Hollywood Hills are the eastern most part of the Santa Monica Mountains and don't come into view until the camera zooms back out from a close up of DTLA at about 13:40. There's too much haze and not enough resolution to get a sharp image past the wing, it might have been possible to spot the Hollywood Sign on Mt Lee with the naked eye from the plane if you knew what you were looking at.
Ty for sharing your awesome vids! I LOVE em! I could just watch em all day!! What’s up with the car with its roof flashers going on after landing? Some criminal on board they’re getting ready to apprehend?
Thanks for posting these two vids. You left a green and pleasant land and came to this smog-shrouded coast. I've been photographing BA85 arriving in Vancouver, BC. What a noble beast. How's the legroom on the main deck?
Another fine video Dan. Would you please tell us how you get to fly so often, and to so many places? Somehow, after several years. I haven't read your explanation if you made one somewhere else. I do enjoy all of your vids. Just wondering about how you do it.
YOU'VE TAKEN US FROM LONDON, HEATHROW TO THE USUALLY HAZY LAX WITH "TOPNOTCH" VIDEO OVER WING TO GREAT GROUND SHOTS FROM ABOVE IN THE A380 AIRBUS. NO ISSUES, NO WORRIES, AND NO BIGGIE...JUST A GREAT "AIR WORTHY" AIRLINER! THANKS.
Hey Dantorp Aviation, I watched your review before I flew to L.A. and it turned out I was scheduled to be on the same exact BA a380. We booked the same row of seats that you were in and I agree that they are probably the best economy seats. Thanks for the review!!
Nice video of the decent into and landing at LAX. I live in Southern California and I have flown into and out of LAX many times. Thank you for your excellent videos.
Yeah that was a quiet landing alright. You know , 380 's are going out of business production. Any avid fans of the 380 can probably start to buy one at a cheap price. Couldn't you imagine having one of your very own. You could deck it out with so many really nice bed rooms and then have a flying home to travel the world. Your friends would envy you to the fullest.
One thing about the A380 is that it has an awesome flap extension/retraction sound.
What an amazing aircraft. It does everything so slow and gently. It looks effortless. It's got class.
Nothing like the feeling of touching down in a foreign country.
Daelin Lis gary glitter said the same
if your a American its not

@@Simplymike2024 - 'If your a American'.... 😄😃😂
Yeah, completely feel you
love the flap sounds
the sound of the wing flapping?
hughaxton no the flaps the things that get out the wing go make it bigger so the plane can slow down and can fly at slow speeds
@@kfl16mm
Mmn
Totally agree with you, I'm sick when I fly on this plane, it's my favorite place to sit near the flaps.
WTF?? YOU LOVE FLAPS SOUND??? YOU CRAZY????
i love the wing droop right after touchdown! Great vid!
Max Howard that is not the wing, well half of it is but when the plane touches down,it touches down on the back wheels which gives the plane a little height, so the wing drop is the nose or the plane coming down on all its wheels

I love the flap sound!
The a380 is amazing!
The sound of the engines spooling down on landing is beautiful
Love this bit whenever I fly into LAX from London
Wow .....now that is a LOT of wing flex!
Probably the smoothest a380 landing i've ever seen, absolutely stunning approach!
+Andreas Richter BA sure have competent pilots!
Yeh I dont doubt that for a second.
The view is awesome and british airways is my favorite airline.Like. ;)
Amazing, gorgeous and wonderful A380. The sound of flaps is so good!
Amazing. Nice Video. :-)

What a landing 😍

Great video and awesome wing view! Liked :)

Matthew Gut I'm referring to another Video, where a BA A380 is taking off from London Heathrow to LA and wondering if this is the same flight.
Mesmerising. Beautiful filming, thank you.

Thank you so much for taking the video. Really good. Enjoyed every moment of the approach and landing. brilliant.
Faultless! Well done guys!
great flaps sound after landing!
I did this exact flight last year, It's almost like a flashback watching this.
Nice video. I love the ones that end at the gate . Thank you
I really enjoyed this!
Very low cloud layer just before landing, awesome :)
That’s a very good landing. So smooth.
Touchdown was so firm! Absolutely amazing video! 👌
Again, superb!! :-)
Very clean video. Great camera-manship!
Great vid. Love flying to LA. Shame you flew through the Sandersons back yard barbecue right at the end......
Nice video and nice landing indeed but a cloudy, crappy evening in LA!!! And it was nice and sunny when the plane was higher up and on approach.
fantastic video
Completely stunning video!
It's really hard to describe something so good... keep it up man!
I am always fascinated watching the spoilers and flaps doing their thing.
As usual Dan, awesome!
Excellent catch!!!
And, thank you for flying Dantorp. Quickest flight ever from London to LA. Good stuff, young man. Keep up the good work.
Beautiful!
BA, the best pilots ever.
Oh the Wing Condensation..... That is a sight to die for
Absolutely amazing video as always
Have to come down to Australia one day :)

Ps I enjoyed that clip, it brought back memories of Feb 2015 on that flight (82A)
Absolute amazing wingview! Nice video!
There is such a nice feel on the A380 and 747-8i no matter where you sit but when on the a350 and 777 you need to sit in the front for the engines.
Lovely video mate!
love your videos !! high quality ;D

My favorite angle-clever fat flaps on the biggest bendy wing, accompaniment by piano key ailerons :-)

Notice in 18:08 that Thai Airways B777-200ER. Thai Airways got terminated from LAX in 2015.

Hey! We don’t have much smog
anymore!! Used to be a lot worse!
The tanklike objects under the wings on planes. Are they fuel cells?
Now the landing 😍😍😍😍😍🛬
