I have a doubt, I have a soprano flugelhorn with a 9mm American fletch receiver and 2 mouthpieces, the original that I found with the flugelhorn and a Denis wick 3BFL which has a shorter fletch, I want to know if I play with the original mouthpiece which has a longer fletch do I have to pull out the tuning slide much more than when I insert the Denis wick 3BFL with a short fletch?
@@GarotMichaelConklinLike I said before, I’m 68 and I feel the same way about not wanting to go out and do anything social. Just very comfortable at home and doing my own thing. Didn’t feel that way when I was younger. I think it’s a natural way to feel as we age. My 2 cents. 😊
Great video. Recently bought a Getzen Capri flugel with a bach 1 1/4 CFL mouthpiece. It has been difficult to get it to play in tune. I'm going to check to see what type of lead pipe it has to see if that is a factor.
Flugels are also "known" to sone degree to be challenging when it comes to intonation so it may not just be the mouthpiece. I have also found that becoming familiar with a horn and hot it plays allows for some degree of compensation in this context as well, and over time you will just play the horn better despite intonation issues :)
As an alto sax player who doubles Soprano, I ask myself this question every moment of every day.
It's like a plague lol !!
I'd like a video on tuners or tuning apps.
