I have a westfield myself and you're driving style looks like mine, like being on rails. I also find it hard to get it on the absolute limit.... Still alot to learn
yeah the best racing channel I found on youtube so far he gives valuable information I got much faster and more consistent on the sim after I watched his videos
I totally agree with Paul Keeble, these vids are priceless, I never imagined I could learn so much from every single one of them whilst still sat in my armchair at home! Epic Scott, please please keep them coming!
These latest series of videos from Driver61 are pure gold. I’m learning so much. I’ve also always wondered why F1 drivers seem to always notice track evolution lap to lap, especially in Qualy. Now it seems to me that they are proactively exploring the limit on every corner. Knowing this has made my viewing of F1 more enjoyable. Thx Driver61
Brilliant! The bit you're explaining about going closer to the limit is well reflected in the quote "if you don't fail from time to time, you're not trying hard enough" - where failing may not mean a spinout but a bit of oversteer that is caught and expected next time around. Great stuff Scott!
Thanks, Scott, this is a next year great analysis.I`m doing Roadsport next year. The biggest thing I learnt here is being patient about when and where you overtake, and also having the confidence to drive to the cars limit. Something that helped me with the latter, was doing car control, and drifting lessons. When one loses it on a fast corner is always the scariest!
I've recently got your channel recommended and i like your analysis a lot, one can never learn enough in this life. I use a phrase that I don't remember where i have read it or listen to it (probably in one of Chriss Harris videos or maybe viperconcept youtube channel) and it says: *if you don't hear the rear wheels squeaking and struggling a bit for grip it means you're not fast enough*
I absolutely love these videos! I've been watching them the last couple weeks, and even though I don't race a real car, these videos have helped me with my driving technique in the games I play. Again I love this, great stuff!
Just watching you I have learned so much. Im a rookie for sure. But, im working on getting good enough for F1 Esports. With just two months ive got within .6 of the World Record At Austria. Could only imagine how much better i could be actually in a class of yours
Great video! Really interesting to hear your thoughts and strategies. Only annoying thing was the constant 'subscribe' message and bell sound, once or twice is fair enough but not every 90 seconds on a 17min video haha.
@@Driver61 All good mate, keep the content coming! I've been following your work for a number of years, even subbed to your university email list. You've genuinely made me a better driver, so seriously thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks Scott, I am racing production cars down here in Australia, having difficulty in finding the limit so really appreciate the tips, I just wish I could get to one of your physical classes!! But thanks for these valuable resources
Tricky corners, tricky straights, and if you're really lucky, tricky traffic as well. Spa is definitely one of God's gifts to drivers. Guaranteed to be on a short list for "Best Track Ever".
Wasn’t your dad or grandad an old F1 driver, it’s so easy to spin out on the turf on that odd left hander after no name, you gotta drive on the limit to be fast, consistency is also key out all my wins I’ve never ran the fastest lap of the race it’s all consistently slow lap times that I win with ya there drivers that can do one ultra fast lap then there next lap is 4 secs slower there lap times are everywhere just repeat what you did on your fastest lap dur
I think that 'driving at the limit' in the middle of the corner and generating a little bit of slip is the hardest thing to do. I'm pretty certain it's one of the things really fast drivers are good at. Do you have any ideas of how to get better at that?
You will get better advice from Scott, but here`s my experience for what it`s worth. Book up some drifting lessons, then when you`ve got the feel of it try it at a good circuit, on a slowish corner with safe run off. I think Scott mentions this bit.
Gotta love seeing you upload many videos lately :D Btw: I’d also love to know the tire dimensions and tire model you have on your master-class Mx-5, since I am planning to buy a good cheap car to practice myself^^
A toe is when you follow someone. The guy in front clears the way, punching a hole in the air, and the guy behind goes faster because he is behing toed by the guy in front.
Thank you Scott! Very much noted - and yes you are quite right, I'm not one for getting the car much out of shape.....hmmm
i know I'm quite randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to watch new movies online?

This series of videos where you analyse laps is fantastic, please keep doing them.
I'm loving them
Glad i'm not the only one
This is expert racing lessons for free.
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! I don't think that there are videos about racing as informative as yours

More than just a few nuggets 😉 Very valuable stuff, pretty helpful in particular for me knowing Spa
Just seen your race at Brands Scott!
Race 2 was a lot of fun!
Aweeesome!!!
Spa is such an intetesting track imho. There's some very tricky corners.
