@Simbiachi I know fl4k is tempting because having a pet would be so cool. But the guy with the clone ability thing is like a cooler version of the soldier turret from BL1 ! All I'm sure of is I don't want to be a puncher guy cuz I'm too in love with all of the guns.
Borderlands 3 had the hardest choices of vault hunters. Every other game I knew who I wanted right away. This one I debated it. But Moze's mech just called my name.
I played my first play through solo, and I picked Fl4k just bc he seemed to be the most interesting to me at the time and it was a great choice bc having an pet companion was extremely handy
I loved Nisha the Lawbringer, makes me miss the Pre-Sequel. You had me at Lilith, I was going to roll Amara but early on impressions she's a different kind of Siren so I'm rolling with Zane.

Yeah I main Amara and I def disagree. Gotta did agree when he says guns are silly. Just gotta pick the right guns. My favorite thing about amara is I pretty much only have to fight about 1/3 of the enemies they throw at me.

How to play each borderlands 3 character: Amara -focus more on offense and spacial awareness Zane Flynt -plan your attack and use the teleportation ability to retreat or to trick your enemies, and also use the clone Moze -support your teammates and use the mech more often Fl4k - "SICK 'EM BOY! SICK 'EM!"
With Zane ive never used a grenade, I have however instantly put points into the skills to add gun damage for each skill active up to a 40% bonus off the bat, and the skill to speed up active cooldowns, Zane is a damage dealing badass and with the shield and digiclone can basically become unstoppable. At max level I'll be able to deal over 100% weapon damage, freeze enemies with crits and heal from shooting frozen enemies and my clone copies my weapon when I clone it so a badass freezing gun goes a long way with them to basically freeze the entire field.
Got this randomly pop up in recommended and was like they got zane so wrong and then I see this comment and find a like minded person doing exactly what I did
Moze and Iron bear are the best tanks in the WORLD. Moz on her own doesn't do much damage, but if you build her right her survivability is CRAZY, but once you get in Iron bear its like switching on easy mode, nothing can kill you, and nothing can survive you. Reminds me of the 40k Spacemarine Deadnaughts
With Moze, I spec in the green tech tree as some of her abilities allow you to gain ammo with a critical hit, as well as a passive gain of ammo with her last skill in that tree. Goes well with a high capacity mag vladof gun
Zane, Moze, and FL4K all have nice sets of skills that make them good for Solo play. With FL4K being the more obvious choice. A lot more flexibility for solo players this time around, which is always nice.

Funny. I played Zane close quarters, moving to midrange at high levels (and mayhem) with drone/grenade, later switching to drone/barrier. I put focus onto efficiently freezing enemies, and having high damage output through kill skills.
Absolutely, I mostly play Fl4k and I basically use nothing but Sniper and Shotgun. Fire from far 3-4 headshots, drop the action skill and go mad-man with shotgun.

I don't know about you damage minmaxers but Zane with shield and digiclone trees give him insane shield recharge ability and shield capacity. Becomes an OG tank.

when i first played borderlands i chose mordecai cuz i love snipers and i also chose zer0 cuz i like being invisible but when i saw ppl play as lilith i now always play as lilith cuz shes fast and invisible but i still sometimes play as mordecai
Please note that this video seems to of only gone over one playstyle for each character. For example Amara can also be a ranged elemental caster type, Zane can be full support with a shield which heals when people are near by (there's more but just giving an example)
I started with Fl4k and leveled him up to the original level cap, Then I picked Zane and have never looked back, one of my favorite moves is spamming swap with the digi-clone because it does area of effect damage when you swap places. Zane is high speed, high damage, and with mobs of enemies you can pretty much keep the clone and drone running constantly. 👍👍 Plus the voice interactions with Zane are comedy gold.
I chose Moze because I’m a huge fan of Tanks and Mechs so choosing her wasn’t a hard choice to make. Moze’s mech has a few weapons to choose from such as a mini gun, rail gun, grenade launcher, flamethrower and rocket launcher. Spamming grenades from double launchers seems to be the most OP at mid to close range and it’s also really fun.

It's the same for me. I am going to start with Zane. If you can't choose just randomly pick one and level it to say level ten. If it don't feel right then grab another and rinse and repeat. From what I have seen late game Zane with the right build becomes a force of nature.
I play moze and she is not as coop heavy as they say. Moze with the right build is a fucking TANK and is great with Jakob’s guns because she has a skill that lets her regenerate ammo when she gets a crit. If you play multiplayer every now and then, but still play solo, I recommend moze.
I ain't no newcomer to borderlands by a longshot but I like to play moze because completely leveling the enemy team with grenade volleys and nukes is just so satisfying
I know it's been two years for me to actually play this but I just wanna say, for my first okay through I went with Zane. Not just because he's a total badass, but hes got a relatable personality. And when he's on max there's literally nothing that can stop you.
Personally, I use Amara way differently than the melee build described here. With Ties That Bind and Stillness of Mimd alongside Avatar, you can *very* easily clear out a massive group of enemies with just a few bullets, though its usefulness against bosses is questionable.
@Bblurre theres millions of people playing the game and only 4 characters. No matter what character you play many others are the same character as you. You guys make no sense.
Zane has some of the funniest voice lines I've heard for example "you cant hit a cow's ass with a banjo" and "I've never grave robbed before but it's on my bucket list now so sure why not"
I have a doom guy zane build it's insanely fast pasted and has these weapons the long musket, speedlodin hellwalker, sickle, and fire gunerang xl. This is an interesting experience to play shoot lots of things and bring hell to the borderlands. I also use a anshin shield that has fire resistance as well as the tran fusion longbow grenade mod every time I shoot my shotgun it also shoot a free grenade with this mod on it. Fastest character ever and is insanely fun.
She is miles away from Krieg's Badassitude which makes her totally different from Krieg, also Krieg was actually dying all the time, you had to play him like a total maniac, just remember the dynamite second wind or him hitting himself in the face with his buzz saw axe every now and then to get more aggro / adrenaline :D those are the essential features that are missing.
Going to use FL4K. Only thing is that I used Gaige on BL2 and got her to lvl 55 on UVHM and feel that the two of them are very similar in the sense they both have the same sort of action skill. Really like the look of Amara
Still can't decide between Fl4k and Zane keep going back and forth between the two. Playing solo and both seem good for solo play with Zane's digi clone & drone & Fl4ks pet ugh
I’m playing FL4K with the Master skill tree, and really having a blast. I liked the idea of sniping but he’s super deadly if you get up close behind good cover using assault rifles, SMGs and Shotguns. And I happed to LOVE all the Jakobs guns, I’m at the point where I ignore the others.
Everytime I think I've decided some new video comes out and makes them all seem badass. But leaning more and more towards Amara. Didnt want to go siren as that's what I always do but kreig was too fun too pass up melee again
i already knew i was going to play amara from the start because i love melee characters but i will even more so nowlol.... i did actually play brick in borderlands 1 and krieg in 2.. also athena in pre-sequal but i beat that once and never playd again... krieg is my number 1 character though and i playd 2 like crazy with him, he was just too much fun.. also i heard amara can be like a mania and hellborn krieg... which those were the 2 trees i had the most fun with so im sold a thousend time over on maining amara.... now i just want to see krieg in borderlands 3 in some sort of way that isnt having to kill him or him already being dead. definitely not likely but playing him again as a dlc would be awesome especially with the vault hunters talking in the story now.
Is Amara good if you're solo? I wanna try Fl4k but I always end up using snipers so I may try something different. But having a pet is tempting though.
I play solo a lot due to lack of equipment (No mic to talk to friends). I'm picking Amara first, since i've been a Siren main in every game. (No Siren in Pre-Sequel, so I played Athena). She does something that I've been talking about since Brick called dibs on Siren in Assault on Dragon Keep, A Siren that punches people with her powers.
To give a helping hand fl4k can be used for other things besides long range most of the bills out there are made mainly for melting bosses but Jacobs is the best weapons for him
I ran a pure run n gun drone n clone Zane build with old u. Shredded everything in the campaign with little difficulty. Damage was crazy and the build variety is great.
I chose Amara the first time I played this game. Two years later revisiting this game and chose Fl4k. (btw this game is intended for you to come back to it and it has been an amazing comeback). Almost chose Zane but I was not amused by his clone-based and shield based abilities. I am glad I chose fl4k, maybe not as lethal as Amara but I am thoroughly enjoying fl4k's style.
Whose the support character in this for co-op? I need to revive or heal up my brother lol. I thought it might be Amara, since she's the Siren but she looks overly offensive (I LOVE IT! lol). Thoughts?
I have not found any information have you found any weapons that buff movement speed? I want to see how fast I can get Zane to move because a lot of his skill tree focus's on movement speed.
I have a FL4K build all around damage reduction, health regen/sharing it, and using yourself and pet to draw Aggro. He can be a pretty effective group hug tank.
I like combing zanes clone with the barrier the barrier can give you a damage boost and heals you when your in it it gives the clone a damage buff and gives you time to heal and do more damage being in the barrier im honestly not a gernade person
I like playing as FL4K because if you choose skills that benefit repeat hits or stay still during shootouts, you can wipe out enemies easily. I use automatic rifles and they can be a master if you level up right.
Now that I know everything I can say with confidence that I still have no idea which vault hunter I am going to pick.

I picked Zane for my first playthrough almost solely because I very rarely use grenades, so I saw it as essentially an extra ability with no downside.
I didn’t even realize he was the only one who could use 2 abilities.
I am so glad I picked moze first, since it was a blast mowing down my enemies in a huge mech suit

Right now I’m loving the character Fl4k. Using his companions has been making quest a whole lot easier.
I picked FL4K. The pet is basically like Roland/Axton's turret that distracts and helps you kill enemies.
Hard to think this was that long ago, I ended up going with Zane and did not regret it, funniest character imo and after the buff very fun to play.

They mean that while she does get a good amount of buffs in her skill tree, all of her abilities focus on her mech.

Mordecai and Zero are by far my favorite borderlands characters ever.
Fl4k is pretty beast too (no pun intended).

Pick who you want. I'm playing FL4K solo and Zane co-op.
I play moze and she is not as coop heavy as they say. Moze with the right build is a fucking TANK and is great with Jakob’s guns because she has a skill that lets her regenerate ammo when she gets a crit. If you play multiplayer every now and then, but still play solo, I recommend moze.
I ain't no newcomer to borderlands by a longshot but I like to play moze because completely leveling the enemy team with grenade volleys and nukes is just so satisfying
I know it's been two years for me to actually play this but I just wanna say, for my first okay through I went with Zane. Not just because he's a total badass, but hes got a relatable personality. And when he's on max there's literally nothing that can stop you.
Personally, I use Amara way differently than the melee build described here. With Ties That Bind and Stillness of Mimd alongside Avatar, you can *very* easily clear out a massive group of enemies with just a few bullets, though its usefulness against bosses is questionable.
Was going to pick fl4k as my first character then I saw about 50% of the community pick him. So I’m thinking about switching to Zane or moze...
That's exactly how I feel as well. and I'm still stuck on fl4k and zane . Zane seems pretty fun and possibly op

@Bblurre theres millions of people playing the game and only 4 characters. No matter what character you play many others are the same character as you. You guys make no sense.
Zane has some of the funniest voice lines I've heard for example "you cant hit a cow's ass with a banjo" and "I've never grave robbed before but it's on my bucket list now so sure why not"
I have a doom guy zane build it's insanely fast pasted and has these weapons the long musket, speedlodin hellwalker, sickle, and fire gunerang xl. This is an interesting experience to play shoot lots of things and bring hell to the borderlands. I also use a anshin shield that has fire resistance as well as the tran fusion longbow grenade mod every time I shoot my shotgun it also shoot a free grenade with this mod on it. Fastest character ever and is insanely fun.

I feel that Zane is gonna be the new meta like Sal was back in BL2 but I think Moze is gonna be the most fun.

She is miles away from Krieg's Badassitude which makes her totally different from Krieg, also Krieg was actually dying all the time, you had to play him like a total maniac, just remember the dynamite second wind or him hitting himself in the face with his buzz saw axe every now and then to get more aggro / adrenaline :D those are the essential features that are missing.
As someone who grew up on borderlands 2, I’m really excited to play this, just been waiting for the right moment, think imma choose flak ngl

Started with Zane and LOVING THIS GAME. DUDE THE GAMEPLAY IS SO SATISFYING.
Going to use FL4K. Only thing is that I used Gaige on BL2 and got her to lvl 55 on UVHM and feel that the two of them are very similar in the sense they both have the same sort of action skill. Really like the look of Amara
Also as Zane you can use 2 action skills at a time, but you lose out on the ability to use grenades
So I installed BL3 already, but haven't played the first two. Should I play 1 & 2 first or is it something where it doesn't matter where you start?
i'm playing my first game run with FL4K and i'm really enjoying it..this borderlands is just amazing.
Still can't decide between Fl4k and Zane keep going back and forth between the two. Playing solo and both seem good for solo play with Zane's digi clone & drone & Fl4ks pet ugh

I’m playing FL4K with the Master skill tree, and really having a blast. I liked the idea of sniping but he’s super deadly if you get up close behind good cover using assault rifles, SMGs and Shotguns. And I happed to LOVE all the Jakobs guns, I’m at the point where I ignore the others.
When ur using zanes shield and your holding it and shooting does it do more damage like when it’s on the ground?
When Moze is killing killavolt I love how he is just screaming at the top of his lungs
Everytime I think I've decided some new video comes out and makes them all seem badass. But leaning more and more towards Amara. Didnt want to go siren as that's what I always do but kreig was too fun too pass up melee again

i already knew i was going to play amara from the start because i love melee characters but i will even more so nowlol.... i did actually play brick in borderlands 1 and krieg in 2.. also athena in pre-sequal but i beat that once and never playd again... krieg is my number 1 character though and i playd 2 like crazy with him, he was just too much fun.. also i heard amara can be like a mania and hellborn krieg... which those were the 2 trees i had the most fun with so im sold a thousend time over on maining amara.... now i just want to see krieg in borderlands 3 in some sort of way that isnt having to kill him or him already being dead. definitely not likely but playing him again as a dlc would be awesome especially with the vault hunters talking in the story now.
Is Amara good if you're solo? I wanna try Fl4k but I always end up using snipers so I may try something different. But having a pet is tempting though.
FL4K is gonna rock. I just hope we get to see Handsome Jack, as a plot twist

I play solo a lot due to lack of equipment (No mic to talk to friends). I'm picking Amara first, since i've been a Siren main in every game. (No Siren in Pre-Sequel, so I played Athena). She does something that I've been talking about since Brick called dibs on Siren in Assault on Dragon Keep, A Siren that punches people with her powers.
To give a helping hand fl4k can be used for other things besides long range most of the bills out there are made mainly for melting bosses but Jacobs is the best weapons for him

I ran a pure run n gun drone n clone Zane build with old u. Shredded everything in the campaign with little difficulty. Damage was crazy and the build variety is great.
Currently free on EGS, gonna use Mose, the mech playstyle really wets my whistle

i hope you won't be disappointed with krieg in dlc4. because so far, gearbox has given horrible treatment to bl2 vault hunters in bl3 (except zer0).

I chose Amara the first time I played this game. Two years later revisiting this game and chose Fl4k. (btw this game is intended for you to come back to it and it has been an amazing comeback). Almost chose Zane but I was not amused by his clone-based and shield based abilities. I am glad I chose fl4k, maybe not as lethal as Amara but I am thoroughly enjoying fl4k's style.
Oh yes my original comment also takes into account purple skill trees added in the Arms Race dlc. Zane is more fun with Cannon and drone.

Whose the support character in this for co-op? I need to revive or heal up my brother lol. I thought it might be Amara, since she's the Siren but she looks overly offensive (I LOVE IT! lol). Thoughts?
I have not found any information have you found any weapons that buff movement speed? I want to see how fast I can get Zane to move because a lot of his skill tree focus's on movement speed.
I have a FL4K build all around damage reduction, health regen/sharing it, and using yourself and pet to draw Aggro. He can be a pretty effective group hug tank.
Definitely going to play Amara with my buddy who’s gonna play Zane. Melee is the real deal in BL.
That's what im doing but i use the grab tree when we have to fight mini bosses but otherwise i use the phaseslam
I like combing zanes clone with the barrier the barrier can give you a damage boost and heals you when your in it it gives the clone a damage buff and gives you time to heal and do more damage being in the barrier im honestly not a gernade person
I like playing as FL4K because if you choose skills that benefit repeat hits or stay still during shootouts, you can wipe out enemies easily.
I use automatic rifles and they can be a master if you level up right.
