'Fraid not. There's a big window between when PKA matches began airing on ESPN (1979) and when the company ceased to promote events (1986), but that's the best I can do. The graphics make me think it's earlier in that span rather than later.
@@mouseboxersclassickickboxing I got up with Frye in the summer of 1983 and we did very intense boxing sparring sessions for a few years. I spent a lot of time with him sparring into 1986. This looks like it is before we became sparring partners. He was U.S. Kicking boxing champion when I knew him. Thanks for up loading this fight.
You're welcome, and thank *you* for the anecdote. I didn't know much about Frye before you commented - still don't, to be honest - but I did some research and apparently he went so far as to win the KICK World Lightweight Championship in 1991. He was the real deal.
By the way, do you know if Dale also boxed professionally? If this is the same Dale Frye listed on Boxrec, apparently he's refereeing in the Myrtle Beach area, these days.
@@mouseboxersclassickickboxing Yes he did some pro boxing and is now refereeing boxing matches. He also did stunt work for the movie industry. That is him in the boxrec. When we did sparring we just did boxing because I did not do kick boxing. He fought out of Greenville N.C. and was in the same stable of fighters Oaktree Edwards, Curtis Crandall, and others. I once sparred with Oaktree. He was built like Mike Tyson, in fact when I met him he had just got back from N.Y. sparring with Tyson. You can see Dales fight with Paul Vizzio on youtube. Maybe you can find a more clear print of that fight.
Dale was to strong for Williams, he was pretty strong for 135 lbs.
Do you know about what year this fight took place ?
