His flagship song and the one that shot him to fame in China is SOS and I firmly believe that the one from his 2021 Digital Show is still the greatest of all. Dimash was born in Kazakhstan in 1994. He began studying music at the age of 5, the age at which he was diagnosed with "perfect pitch". Her parents are famous singers in Kazakhstan. Russian composer, Igor Krutoy (playing the piano) wrote this song specially for Dimash at his request. As Igor put it: "Italians like to say that any composer is worth exactly as much as his latest work is worth, meaning that all previous achievements and achievements do not count... I listened very carefully to the fairly controversial and categorical statement made by representatives of this very musical country (both in the past and in the present), and began to look at my new compositions from the Italian perspective... One evening, about three months before 'New Wave', Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him, explaining his desire to sing something in such a stylistic way... It just so happens that I had the evening off, and I was happy to sit down on the piano and, remembering the Italian liability formula, worked inspiredly until I achieved the desired result... After taking a few days to have the song ‘rest’ in my ears, soul and heart, I sent it to Dimash, who literally said within half an hour that that's exactly what he wanted to hear. And, of course, the reception and applause given to Dimash by the audience at New Wave showed how happy it was to do what you love, to write for such a singer who has a genius for music, to evoke deep emotions in the public and to be in demand… In fact, Igor had already semi-retired earlier, but he came out of semi-retirement to work with Dimash. Dimash was born in Kazakhstan in 1994. He began studying music at the age of 5, the age at which he was diagnosed with "perfect pitch". Her parents are famous singers in Kazakhstan. He studied piano and singing. He later graduated in classical and contemporary music. He has a master's degree in composition and is currently pursuing a doctorate in musicology. You might think that Dimash only has a high, soprano type voice by watching this performance, but he also has one of the lowest. Dimash always transports we listeners to other dimensions. He even has a song called, "Across Endless Dimensions!" Hope you will continue to investigate---you won't be disappointed.
Russian composer, Igor Krutoy (playing the piano) wrote this song specially for Dimash at his request. As Igor put it:
"Italians like to say that any composer is worth exactly as much as his latest work is worth, meaning that all previous achievements and achievements do not count... I listened very carefully to the fairly controversial and categorical statement made by representatives of this very musical country (both in the past and in the present), and began to look at my new compositions from the Italian perspective... One evening, about three months before 'New Wave', Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him, explaining his desire to sing something in such a stylistic way... It just so happens that I had the evening off, and I was happy to sit down on the piano and, remembering the Italian liability formula, worked inspiredly until I achieved the desired result... After taking a few days to have the song ‘rest’ in my ears, soul and heart, I sent it to Dimash, who literally said within half an hour that that's exactly what he wanted to hear. And, of course, the reception and applause given to Dimash by the audience at New Wave showed how happy it was to do what you love, to write for such a singer who has a genius for music, to evoke deep emotions in the public and to be in demand…
In fact, Igor had already semi-retired earlier, but he came out of semi-retirement to work with Dimash. In a Russian TV interview, Igor said his mother had told him he needs to write songs for younger singers. But he replied that there aren’t any younger singers who can sing his songs. That’s why he decided to retire... but then he met Dimash. Together, the two of them have created many beautiful new songs. Igor writes specially to cater to Dimash’s exceptional range, ability and technique.

What makes Dimash great is not just his incredible voice, but the man behind it. Many concentrate on the octave range and don’t realize its not just the range that gets them, but his ability to connect us to our own souls. Dimash works hard at his gift and respects and has mastered it past the rest of us. He is free to express without trepidation and gives 100%. Music is important to him. He is without pretense. You just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. Dimash was born on May 24, 1994 in Aktobe, Kazakhstan. He is 1.91m; 6.3 feet tall. Dimash did not fit the traditional image of a singer in Kazakhstan and was criticized. Even his voice teacher forbade him to sing in falsetto (There is a video where the teacher talks about it)... but he was not deterred, won many national and international competitions.
In 2016, Dimash turned down the offer of the National Opera in Astana because he wanted to go his own way ... He created his own genre: neoclassical combined with classical, folklore and other styles such as pop, rock, R&B and jazz. We laypeople say 'Popera'. 😃
Dimash is independent and has full artistic control over himself. He founded his own company named Dimash Ali.
In 2017, Dimash surprised everyone in China. He opened the eyes of his critical compatriots. Today Dimash is a 'cultural ambassador' for his country and a 'national treasure' (not an official title). He himself is a proud Kazakh and patriot.
Dimash plays at least 7 instruments, traditional dombra is a must in his family. He speaks Kazakh (mother tongue) and Russian (without accent, second language in Kazakhstan), is learning English and Mandarin. He says dancing and Mandarin are difficult for him. So far, he sings in 13 languages. He trains his voice for 3 hours every day, ..but Dimash said: "You don't need to know how hard I've worked, you just need to enjoy the results".
Experts consider Dimash to be a lyrical baritone with a typically long range. Dimash says of himself that he is a tenor. Some believe that he does not sing his high notes as a countertenor but as a natural soprano.He is the first singer to sing all 5 voices: bass, baritone, tenor, contralto, soprano.
