    So You Guys! I was trying to remember where I got the picture of my z400 that's in the thumbnail of this video, and I found that place in the video in this link while chiseling this am! Man this video here brings back memories! Lol In Here is where I checked out the dam Danny dug out, its where I first found mother beaver dam #1, and the Monstrous beaver dam, and it's before I got the go pro in which my complaining about needing one and heart for ministry touched brother Randy to buy me a brand new go pro hero 7! Lol So if you need an interesting beaver dam video to watch, this is one! Especially if you haven't seen it already but know how things look now at the monstrous and mother beaver dam#1! Enjoy!

    Can u start it with no valve cover or will it not crank. Cause me and. My step dad have been in this battle he won’t put the valve cover back on he thinks it’s the timing but I think it won’t crank with the cover off ?

    So I know this was posted a while ago. Figured it was worth a shot. Just had my 400 rebuilt and it has that ticking noise. Is that normal?

    • @TerrellSpivey
      @TerrellSpivey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's as loud as this I gonna say no, but a minor tick is normal due to the sound of the cam lobes hitting the buckets. I say no because even tho my valve lash was in great specs it still had a loud tick and in May of last year the crank rod broke and went thru the case and the piston was seized in the jug. Till this day I have no idea how such could happen! Smh

    Worse case from my Yamaha experience; is the rattle is worn out valve guides, springs, and seat. But if there is good compression seating, then I would watch for valve float in other ways (springs, lobes, clearance, tensioner). If a valve keeper/collet goes; plan for a new piston, head, cylinder, etc. Not knowing Suzuki, don't want to say it's a rocker. Or know if it is lower end/gudgeon pin. Since it is not mine, I'd start with new springs and valve hardware.

    • @TerrellSpivey
      @TerrellSpivey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Man! Now you sound like a true small engine mechanic! Lol I really hope it's none of those things because I haven't advanced to the level of inserting springs, valves and valve keepers and I definitely can't mess with the bottom end! Lol I know Z400s are known for having a little tick normally but this is a bit much. I actually had a valve to drop back in early 2018 and destroyed the head, cylinder and piston smh so all of those things are new and then mid 2018 chain came off and bound around the front sprocket and destroyed transmission lol smh so I didn't have the money to get it fixed until 2019 so my quad has been thru! Lol so it's not had a whole Lotta hours since that engine rebuild, but at least 10 blown head gaskets has probably not been good for it.

      @AudioAdvisory38 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TerrellSpivey Just don't want you to go through another valve drop is all then. Yeah, changing springs requires taking the head off, or filling the cylinder with rope. Never tried the latter. And it reads like any chain guides, tensioners, and old chain would be replaced when the wrap grenaded last round. But yeah, if you can live with it, run it. If it breaks again, it will be easier to diagnose than using speculation.

      @@AudioAdvisory38 definitely don't wanna go thru another! Lol if need be ill take the head off and take it to my mechanic and let him check the valves and things. Definitely appreciate cha

    On what I can her im theking that noise is somewhere round the valves im not a 100% positive I am guessing. That tells me how ever put in the hellycoil didn't put it in right I am theking the hellycoil is just spinning in the hole it might have to replace it if it is put in right it won't move

      I probably needed a new one at the time because I'd definitely tightened it! But my baby blew up in May smh crank rod broke, piston was seized in the cylinder and rod punched thru the tranny smh timing chain wasn't broke tho when I pulled it apart
