As a Zambian I can tell you that the previous regime was so stupid and greedy that the current president is trying to put things in order and he's kind of doing a good job although the procedure is slow but at least we are moving

This narrative is simplistic. The previous government made great infrastructural changes which cannot be denied. We are seeing and enjoying the effects of those. Previous and Current government are both facing and being hindered by Global challenges like effects of the pandemic and its after effects. That was the reason there was a default which has excercerbated economic woes. Please stop saying these political soundbites, the truth is we were going in the right direction and we to need support the current government to go go go forward with plans to renew Zambia. No sell of iron ore, greater control and share of GDP benefits from this genius plan, which will aid Zambia, especially if money does not go into private hands but into good for all. Caution on corruption and Tribalism causing inner strife and war.

Congratulations to Zambia from Nigeria. The president is renovating and modernizing the mining industry in order to increase the value of their minerals and get better prices from foreign partners. This is good economic development. This is the kind of leadership we need in Africa.

Zambia should actually build refinary to process her minerals and stop selling crude materials to the West. Only the end product will bring more revenue to the state coffers.

although its an ambitious plan, its also a necessary one if zambia and other nations seek an ultimate goal of economic independence
and once the mining sector is secure and established, enough wealth and specialization will exist in those countries to develop a more robust social market

The first domino has fallen, soon this will continue to every quadrant of the continent as the people demands more of the benefits from their resources, as they find new markets, as you develop new usage for their resources.
Food will be the final domino to go, soon they will announced the continent cannot afford to feed the world while its people starve.

Sounds like a plan to become a copper speculator. The Zambian government has no competitive edge or information advantage that will allow it to predict the copper market any better than existing traders. Mining copper and speculating on it are two different things. The government is just creating a lot of risk and potential additional costs to enter the field of commodity speculation which it has no expertise in.
