As a Zambian I can tell you that the previous regime was so stupid and greedy that the current president is trying to put things in order and he's kind of doing a good job although the procedure is slow but at least we are moving
This narrative is simplistic. The previous government made great infrastructural changes which cannot be denied. We are seeing and enjoying the effects of those. Previous and Current government are both facing and being hindered by Global challenges like effects of the pandemic and its after effects. That was the reason there was a default which has excercerbated economic woes. Please stop saying these political soundbites, the truth is we were going in the right direction and we to need support the current government to go go go forward with plans to renew Zambia. No sell of iron ore, greater control and share of GDP benefits from this genius plan, which will aid Zambia, especially if money does not go into private hands but into good for all. Caution on corruption and Tribalism causing inner strife and war.
Congratulations to Zambia from Nigeria. The president is renovating and modernizing the mining industry in order to increase the value of their minerals and get better prices from foreign partners. This is good economic development. This is the kind of leadership we need in Africa.
Zambia should actually build refinary to process her minerals and stop selling crude materials to the West. Only the end product will bring more revenue to the state coffers.
Yes THIS is what we need IN all resource rich nations. Why not? The oil giant nations get paid handsomely for their resource. SO SHOULD AFRICAN NATIONS. This is EXCELLENT news.
although its an ambitious plan, its also a necessary one if zambia and other nations seek an ultimate goal of economic independence and once the mining sector is secure and established, enough wealth and specialization will exist in those countries to develop a more robust social market
Canada wanted to do this post NAFTA, but the USA through political manipulations of our conservative party and weak leadership here in Canada, lost the plot. We will remain carriers of water, and fallers of wood... Best of good wishes to you in Africa... Stay strong...
Time for Africa to take control of its resources and to he'll with these 100 year agreements with imperialists. RETALIATE AFRICA YOUR PEOPLE NEED TO SURVIVE AND BENEFIT FROM AFRICAN RESOURCES

Fantastic prosperous days ahead of us.With this brilliant move the government will not need to borrow funds. And please despatch investors to Mushindamo district to exploit the cobalt for the electric car revolution. The cobalt ore body at neighbouring Kolwezi extends into Mushindamo.
The first domino has fallen, soon this will continue to every quadrant of the continent as the people demands more of the benefits from their resources, as they find new markets, as you develop new usage for their resources. Food will be the final domino to go, soon they will announced the continent cannot afford to feed the world while its people starve. 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
As long as its not lip service from the presedent because african leaders love to talk but when it comes to real action then they have problem. It is a good idea, now execute the plan, it is definitely the right direction and the best for people. Control your resources, use it wisely and u will never have to beg. One love Africa
Sounds like a plan to become a copper speculator. The Zambian government has no competitive edge or information advantage that will allow it to predict the copper market any better than existing traders. Mining copper and speculating on it are two different things. The government is just creating a lot of risk and potential additional costs to enter the field of commodity speculation which it has no expertise in.

Great to hear that.
The previous regime was led by the same guy that is your president now lol

Wake up African and stand up for your peoples one love to the peoples of Zambia 🇿🇲 ❤1💐❤❤❤❤❤🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Well done Zambia! Showing the way forward. Why should Zambians not enjoy more rewards from their own minerals!

We do have an oil refinery. It's overhaul is underway.
He’s learning from Africa youngest President
It doesn't matter where you learn from if it's a wise move, peddle in it. This will save the almost suffocating economy of my country
@@edwardmwila7964 I hope I live to see 1 African president and satellite state governors controlling all raw materials and free from outsider control
This is great for the Zambian people. Key is jobs for Zambians.

May our president live long enough to see to it that zambias face changes forever! Great leader of all times my country has ever seen
In zambia we do have natural resources & some we have access, am happy to see this & may he continue even the next term.

Except there are 6 other nations to get it from with cheaper transportation costs. America and china both produces more copper.
Next step we want 51% plus share or nothing
Good report man and big ups to the current president
They used to get a measly 7 percent royalty.
Stop with the poverty narrative.
One love you are now our King for mother Zambia hope for our Zambia . Africa unite.
A step in the right direction
This is a kind of a indigenisation copied from Zimbabwe, though the west slapped illegal economic sanctions on Zimbabwe.
What are you talking about? You are completely clueless. Just sit down.
Africa rise up! ❤🙏🏾👍🏾💯
