- Welcome to Hermitcraft Season 10 - Episode 11! I'm back on Hermitcraft after the massive Hermitcraft charity stream for Gamers Outreach with a new train car! The new train car is going to be my storage room for my Hermitcraft 10 base. Also, we met up with Grain at the Hermitcraft shopping district permit office to get my mobs permit. TRIAN CAR IDEA! Double Long city Busses! You know how those city buses that look like xylophones or harmonicas or-the slinky instrument! To bend around corners with the size of TWO busses in. My son is in the hospital tonight. He had his appendix rupture this morning, He's ok already resting after surgery, but he will get an opportunity to use one of the Game carts tomorrow at the Cardinal Glennon in St. Louis, MO. They were excited when I told them you guys just did another charity stream that me and my kiddos watched last weekend. Thank You all for blessing kids all over during these stressful times.

The caboose doesn’t necessarily have to go on the train tracks.
The caboose could held aloft by a balloon and pulled along - which could be interesting for the silhouette.
To give the silliness some life, it could be anchored to the rail by a single bogie so that it stays in position. Rope ladders to get down etc.
I really hope he reads and take this idea :P

You talked about the "human" element. Could make the caboose into the living space of the train? Sleeping and dining space for the workers who look after the animals.
This is such a good build overall and I can't wait to see the zoo come together.

Oh Scar, with as cartoony as the train is, you absolutely have to build the caboose with a sharp turn in it that matches the sharp turn in the track. It only makes sense that the caboose itself should curve around the track as well.

But then when the train "continues" on the track the curved caboose wouldn't make sense...like at all even if it is comedic and fantastical. He could make it however like those accordion busses, then it would work to be in the curve.

Just remember that Xisuma has the bucket mobs permit so make sure you don’t include those in the mobs shop!
Scar - you don't need a caboose! Trains these days use a device called a "flashing read-end device" or "Fred" for short. It is a red flashing light and some sensors that tie back to the train engine so train engineers have the info without the need of a caboose and a second engineer. Good luck!! Hopefully, this saves you some room.

A possible lore for ore mountain is that the zoo train’s original owner couldn’t help but be a bit greedy and mine resources whenever they went. The weight of all, or eventually cause the train to break. They used the Mobs from the zoo to off load it into a pile. In hopes of getting the train running again.
ohhh, and Scar could build the last car (the former ore car) tipped over where the rails curve because it detached from the train for being too heavy to make the turn! that would solve the problem of not having enough straight track for another car

Scar, i wanted to thank you specifically for everything you did over the weekend and the charity even. It was incredible. I also thanked most of the participants, but you and Zach are really the show runners and the heart and soul of the event. Which shows and explains why it was so successful. Don't forget Scar that the train is in motion based on the smoke From the engine. That said the elephant reminds me of a dog hanging its head out of a car. Maybe there's a fun way to animate that into the design. Also who's to say this train didn't fly down onto the tracks ? Makes sense as it wouldn't fit through the tunnel. This idea could help with the caboose.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE GIRAFFES! Its was so smart using the different blocks for texture on the neck and the lectern for ears!!!

invite all the hermits to ore mountain for a free for all mining competition. they can only use fortune 3 pickaxes and have to stop when their inventory is full
Idea for the caboose: Scar, instead of having that 90° turn you could put one of them big circles that allows train engines to change direction, Idk the name of that, it's something you'd see in Thomas and Friends, which would fit well with the "cartoony" aesthetic and that would allow you to not only have enough space for the caboose, since you'd basically create a new straight-lined section but also allow you to extend the railroad towards Mumbo's base a bit, like a T juction, maybe adding a little building for "wagon storage", close to a "stable for trains". Sorry but my vocab on train related things isn't the best hehehe.
Note, a better description of what I'm saying is as follows: a section of rail, which the wagon or engine sits on top of, across the diameter of a circle, that is capable of rotating 360°, therefore allowing the engine or wagon to rotate along with it.

For the caboose you should have it detached around the corner tracks with monkeys on it that detached it trying to escape. I think that could be fun and add some more storytelling
For your next car, the caboose, I really see only three options. 1) don't build it, 2) build it diagonally like it's making the turn 3) build it after the turn and come up with some disaster or error that made the caboose unhook from the rest of the train. I honestly don't know what I would choose.

Before you mine it, you should make a custom painting of you scaling ore mountain for your future train conductor/ zoo owners quarters
hey scar, for all the mobs shop, maybe make a chimera abomination where all the mobs are deforming. or maybe an underground zoo with the entrance being a spawn egg
Scar, if you want a caboose the answer is simple. Obviously, you just move every car and associated block forward by 10 - 20 blocks and you’ll have plenty of room! What could be easier?
Make sure you have an army of Allays when/if you mine that mountain so you don’t lose anything.
You should probably have the mob permit be a custom order service, with example displays of the sorts of mobs that would be available.
You could also have signs that describe how much each mob costs, the cost of a specific variation, and delivery fees. (Basically a creeper with a nonspecific name without any specific traits that would be picked up at the mob store would be much cheaper then two charged creepers named dinnerbone delivered directly to a specific build in the end)
The format for the order system could work like:

You could do a whole bit where the trauma of the Permit Office has corrupted you into requiring these forms as proof of purchase.
Also as a way to have proof of who ordered what, in case of someone using your services to, i dont know, deliver 2k chickens in the middle of someones base
As for the actual appearance of the lab, you could go for a laboratory theme with the mobs being shown off in giant test tubes, and have the concept behind it be that the mobs are lab grown
I feel like the Ore mountain is a perfect habitat for an exotic Zoo exclusive Mob that scar has gracefully provided a home to.

While you should not mine it, what's stopping the armor stand stuff? Maybe you could put up a cordon around it as a "National heritage site" that is meant to be protected, with armor stand guards around it but rogue sneaky armor stand bandits (*cough*Grian*Cough*) trying to mine it in secret

Instead of a tunnel through the fish area, it would be cool if you had to swim all the way through. Maybe with a feed bag and squeegee next to one of the doors as if you go in to feed the fish and wash the inside of the tank glass.

shape wise, those giraffes look PERFECT incredibly realistic. But making it all out of wood makes it look like a vintage kids toy, and not an actual statue.
I thought that it would be cool if you could buy the mobs from the zoo directly! You’d be able to show off your base to the hermits, and all of the mobs would have their own cool custom display!

I think the mob shop should either be a zoo, Disney toy shop, or a mobster restaurant where you order your mob via menu. Can’t wait to see what you end up building!

The train is coming along very nicely! In the future, please extend the track, make bridges and tunnels and maybe build more than one train. Maybe there can be a diesel train. I think season 10 deserves a railroad. It could be the first ever railroad in the history of Hermitcraft. So many possibilities, Scar.

Heya scar! For the train segment, why not do a small segment that's square-ish shaped that'll house a large crane! I know you mentioned human aspect and storytelling so my reasoning is the following:
- A crane on the storage box caboose sort of makes sense cause its to move stuff but it looks small compared to the boat which sort of seems like it's unable to pick up the boat. Seems like its to help load stuff into storage only.
- Right behind the storage caboose is a turn on the rail and you mentioned you would like to add another big caboose but kinda stuck so this smaller caboose that only houses a crane on it could help to be a transitional caboose so you can build a proper caboose behind it on the other rail without taking too much space/it's harder to do a long caboose in diagonal to fit the turn
- it being a smaller caboose that houses a crane no matter how large should not take up too much space cause the crane bottom isn't too big. instead you can upsize it vertically to show it's able to pick up further/heavier stuff.
- your train has a small caboose to house a crane specifically because not all places a train heads to may have their own cranes/technically all caboose is interchangeable/removable so it could be that just on this journey to wherever you're heading, you needed one so you brought your own crane along.
- a crane on its own caboose so its easier to detach whenever you don't need a crane for the trip and/or a crane on its own because maybe today you need to move your boat on/off the storage caboose, tomorrow you need to move a different thing off a different caboose, makes sense why this crane is on its own so it can disembark/disengage and be moved/attach to a diff caboose for use since other caboose don't seem to have their own mini crane for pickup/drop off purpose!
Not sure if I'm making sense but think of it as:
[train engine]-[train carriage]-[train carriage]-[train carriage]-[storage unit]-[small crane unit]-[caboose] or
scar, what about your shop being some track with another train car on it, and it can have your mob shop be more interactive and related to your base.
whatever you decide to do with ore-mountain, do it quickly before it becomes comepletely hollow inside!

You could definitely make it into some type of temporary hermit gambling game… knowing how the hermits are.
Could make them guess how many of each ore is there, additionally how many when mined with fortune 3

hey scar i was thinking why not keep ore mountain as it is and make holes in it where birds come and nest (eagles and other birds that live in rocky mountains) you could build them throughout the mountain and also put the birds in the middle of the sky as if they are actually flying, and since this is a zoo you could also put an outpost from which visitors come watch the birds using binoculars.

The fundraising weekend was such a wild ride! The surprise of 15 hermits coming together IRL was insane! So much fun to watch!
I feel like the new carriage on the train makes the silhouette look like it's out of a children's book with a Zoo Train that starts out being like a normal train and gets more ridiculous as you go along. "And the next carriage has an elephant and a family of giraffe's"!
On what to do with Ore Mountain : since every hermit is already used to taking parts of it, you could make it a game and turn up a profit !
They start at the bottom of the mountain with only a (lightly used) gold pickaxe and some dirt blocks to scaffold, and can keep whatever they mine before the pick breaks down ! Of course you can sell them upgrades like better picks or even a beacon
The train looks like it’s come right out of a story book for children and I love it.
Also you have the caboose around the corner having disconnected from the train and fallen behind
I don't know if you'll ever see this, but Scar, I want you to know the jungle cruise boat genuinely makes me so happy. It's a small thing, but it's pretty special to me as my Grandfather worked on the Jungle Cruise ride at Disney world!
He passed away a few years ago, but every time I see that boat, I'm filled with good memories about my Grandpa and Disney.
Just the menory fills me with a lot of wonder and zeal that man had for life, and so it means a lot to me this boat was carried over from season 9 :)

if there's not enough room for a normal caboose on the train, you could have a floating caboose held up by balloons or a single big blimp-style balloon. Just have it attached and being pulled being the train, that way it could extend past that corner that turns towards the mountain
My idea for the caboose:
They say that music soothes the savage beast, so you could make the caboose look like an accordion bending around the track. Could also maybe have it filled with the birds dancing to music from a jukebox

I think scars train tracks should go all the way to the shoping district and his shops could be different carts
Something that will never fail to impress me is how good you builders are at stylisation! I get stuck a lot with technicalities and what something *is* and *isn’t,* rather than thinking of what something *could* be. Those animals, and texture, and everything! It goes into all of that, and it’s so impressive! I consider myself a creative by practise, and this is way of thinking is something I would really like to dedicate some time to learning someday :D It’s very inspiring. Such whimsey
I think the crane should be somewhere else or not interacting with the train. To strengthen the feeling of the train moving forward , like what the smoke does- the crane changes that & gives the feeling of standing still.
An idea to this is if the elephant held an apple for example, and you built a tree with apples on it further back- that would give the expression that the elephant snatched that apple while also saying ‘this train is moving’, it’s a living structure.
And the giraffes look great btw!!
