@@oriondoublecrossed I am not surprised seeing that, coming from the biggest Automotive company in thr world. And hefty debt doesn't always translate into a problematic situation for a company. Maybe they get better control when they borrow instead of using their own equity. They have efficient financial departments who are generally smart enough to assess their capital borrowing and what sources to do so. But, That also doesn't signify that they should charge among the highest money only from Indians.

those are america exclusive models and not as good as the japanese models. toyota does not even sell their best models in usa, american market is different .
we would love to have the model line like aus but that is kind of impossible as they can not make that many models in india without having decent chunk of sales to invest in all the parts supplly chain and assembly plants.

Lc 30/ gr sport with all the bells and whistles cost $160,000 australian but the people there have better choices and simply dont wanna spend too much. But despite that they buy 13 percent of the total land cruisers sold globally and the sales keep on increasing. . The top spec fully loaded lc costs 95 lakh rupees in australia. And here it costs 2.4 cr. Nuts. Still australians complain its overpriced. Because they have better choices. And in the middle east they have fully loaded patrol which is better than this car.

2.2 crore ex showroom is extremely over price
In Australia LC300 equivalent varient priced at 65-70 lakh in indian currency and MERCEDES GLS 400D at 1.1 crore in indian currency.
But in india MERCEDES 400d price is 1.25 crore and LC 300 is 2.2 crore. Land cruiser is extremely over priced in india.
Tell that to the government

Automobile manufacturers need to go MG way and start manufacturing in India. The cost for these cars are not justified, when compared with other corners of the world. Esp. when one needs to wait for part for repairs. Just not practical.

Expensive cars come with expensive problems Even if it is a toyota and 2.5 cr for a land cruiser is an expensive problem.
Assuming "If i have 2.5cr" just lying around at my place, whats stopping me from buying a Defender, X7 M40i or an XM XDrive🤷♂, all of them are capable of similar stuff "if not better".
I know that TOYOTA is known for its relibility and all, but if i can buy any car at this price point wont i be able to take care of the service cost for any one of them. Moreover, with the latest mandates form the Indian govt of scrapping cars older than 15 years....whats the point of buying this toyota ( No offence to anyone, just a thought to consider for the people who have that kind of money)🤓
It's not mandatory to scrap vehicles after 15 years. If the pollution level is controlled and vehicle is in good shape. You can renew it for every 5 years paying green tax. Once the car is 50 years old it then comes under vintage category after which you cannot drive it on road.
