Yeah, to elaborate on the Den split, the voices you get depend on how you handle the Beast chapter. Hunted's there either way, but if you manage to strike the Princess back on one of her pounces, you get Stubborn, and if you either try to talk your way out of things (as you did) or play hyper-defensive with dodging, you get Skeptic. Of course, this only accounts for approaches to the Den. There's other ways Beast can end. Turns out this game's pathing can get kinda complex!
Spoilers: You have to strike her after moving once or twice. If you do it on the last one, stuff happens. Also he only ended up with Den via talking to her because what would normally happen would lead to an ending he already got, even though it also leads to another. She even says "You spoke when you needed to act."
I think I know what the last scene of The Stranger is about... Remember when you beat the game the first time, and it showed you flashes of some of the vessels you'd brought... only through _her_ perspective? It's possible to engineer ANY route to be one of those. The reason you didn't get that "perspective" scene is that you used that vessel for the very first loop, so it got used in the cabin ending instead. Preferable from my perspective, but does mean that the unlocked "perspective scenes" were for others.
If this goes to the Chapter 2 I think it does, I'm looking forward to how rao deals with it, as this is one I've wanted to see him play since he started the series.
I will absolutely forgive you your absolutely hilariously botched den experience given you're going to go give it another look down the line. Like you said [about her sticker], she's so cute!
It says you dropped the knife, but when she was... beating the crap out of you, you had it in your hands. I can't believe they would have that oversight in a game with like, 200+ alternative paths.
It's not an oversight, it could imply that because we dropped the blade ourselves we're able to pick it up and depend ourselves but it wasn't enough. Plus if you try to kill her she breaks your hand, rendering you unable to grab the blade with the one that's closest you do she easily kills you on the floor. In an inverse, if you hesitate before slaying the give up after wounding her you drop the blade and she kneels on you, whereas if you hesitate too much she'll knock you to the ground before beating you on the floor then kneel as she's smiling. So yeah, it was definitely intentional that we have the blade after dropping it and it lends itself well into a certain chapter 3 which I hope he gets.
True, the contrast is staggering now that we've gotten used to the more passive princess. It's quite interesting that the aggressive princess fails to dodge the blade, though, unlike the passive one. It's the opposite of what I'd initially expect, but we haven't seen enough of this version of her for me to get a good impression of her. While this was otherwise a close counterpart to the sequence leading to the Witch, the sequence leading to the Razor was completely different, and there can't be (close) counterparts to the actions taken before the Nightmare and the Beast, so there's a lot to look forward to.
The way raocow absolutely cackled at the game removing the option to take the blade was wonderful
Tags: but seriously though, this whole dark mirror effect, that happened because of past runs, is fascinating to explore

Shifty does say "I am sorry that you met this vessel so early in your journey" to indicate this.
raocow your reaction to the sticker of the den made me full of joy and wonderment

Truly the dating sim experience.
Ok, raocow, I gotta admit, as soon as you clicked on that sticker, my reaction was also "... Oh."

There are different sequences for the same princess that are similar or completely different from each other.
