    When current generation of M5 went out and did 0-60 in 3.3 it was mind blowing. But this, RS3 - small sportback, doing 3.4 is just incredible

      @gregs8685 2 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      Impressive no doubt, but 0-60 is more of a headline figure. Obviously out in the real world an M5 would slaughter an RS3 speed wise. Quarter mile trap speed and in gear/ roll acceleration numbers give a better indication of a car’s real world speed.

    Thanks - excellent review - well balanced factual and informative. I have an RS3 carbon sportback on order, so it's good to know I've made the right choice. Interior is OK for me and in the RS3 I looked at last week, the ambient lighting does a good job of brightening things up. No one seems to mention that, but you can customise the colours and wotnot. The tech is great as well. Thanks again, most informative review I've seen of this car to date.

    Very good job with your two Audi RS 3 videos and I've sent links to friends who admire our 2019 Audi RS 3. We've put 33k miles on it thus far and aside from putting much better 18-inch 245/40/18 wheels/tires the RS 3 has been a significant pleasure. The stock 235/35/19 tires/wheels were a very poor performing arrangement which we replaced within 3 days of buying the RS 3! We're retired so spend typically 3 days a week running country back roads and now have 33,109 miles on the Audi. Great machine indeed and certainly glad we bought it.
    Keep up the good work and reviews, certainly great to learn more about high performance aspects, versus the typical foo-foo nonsense other many automobile reporters/writers waste my time with. Keep up the great detail reporting that you do!

    • @rodpaine7552
      @rodpaine7552 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Now at 42,217 total miles with 30,396 miles being fast country back road runs 3 days a week as weather permits, the Audi's performance has been flawless and we're very happy with its performance. New Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 245/40/18 tires going on very soon, as the current Michelin A/S3+ 245/40/18 have just about reached their end at 3.5 mm remaining tread depth. A great vehicle indeed and certainly the best I've had during my now 64 years of fast automobiles and driving on many country back roads in VA, W VA and southern CA. Certainly a great automobile!

    As a serial BMW owner, I have to say, this is the first RS3 that I feel a real 'want' for.
    Seeing as BMW have ruined their own hot hatch line up, I can see one of these as my next car.
    I don't get the whole obsession with 0-60 times that owners seem to be so fascinated with, I couldn't give a shit if I'm honest, anything under 6 seconds is plenty, but the driving experience and fun-factor of a hot hatch is what attracts me.

    • @final_mile_music9713
      @final_mile_music9713 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the 0-60s BS is about comparison to EV’s (the only trick they have) and that, is many places, it’s the only fun you can have. That, and bragging rights. Make no sense to me.

      @@final_mile_music9713 I can see what you're saying.
      I think racing from one set of red traffic lights to the next set, is pointless and boring. I suppose women in sporty SUV's might get some sort of satisfaction from beating other cars doing this, but real drivers will be laughing at such low skilled drivers.
      I'll be out in the countryside drifting the back end out around corners thanks :-)

    I can understand people going on about the price of the RS3......the same is said about the RSQ3 and the TTRS. But that is the price you have to pay for a bit of exclusivity. The superb 5 pot stands alone in a sea of turbo 4 pots and a few 6 cylinder competitors. The 5 pot is not a beneficiary of mass production and, unfortunately, a premium will have to be paid in terms of a bit of that rare exclusivity in todays car market......It's an awesome piece of engineering!

    It is hard for an ordinary person to be that objective about the ability of such a car. My last car was a manual Golf GTI performance which was a lovely car. I traded it in for an RS3 last month which was my first automatic. I am not a good driver being a bit erratic but both vehicles make me feel good and possibly improve my driving. They are just nice cars.

    the RS3 is ideal if you need the 4 doors and take passengers and stuff around often. But I'll still take the m240i all day if that practicality is not required. Nothing beats a straight 6 coupe.

  • @joeblacc8573
    @joeblacc8573 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's tough to justify the RS5 from a speed perspective. If it's just about space then class up to the RS6/7 etc....but I would have to imagine the RS5 is gonna get a significant upgrade soon. It's been outclassed by the competition for years and now it's kid brother is stronger and much more exciting.

Have u heard or perhaps driven an Audi RS3 with an Akrapovic Exhaust on? Also would you advise doing a stage 1Software upgrade on a RS3. I'm considering ordering 1 in January, so just wanted ur professional opinion. Thank You and al the best for the holiday season keep safe.

    Great review as always Joe, I'm looking for views or thoughts on would you buy the RS3 with no sunroof, head up display etc over a B9.5 RS4 Vorsprung which is fully loaded in Nardo Grey that carries a mountain bike about on the roof and does everything really well? as that's where I'm at, I've ordered an RS3 Carbon black and I'm having second thoughts as the RS4 is still a cult car and a great all rounder............

Following from this I genuinely believe if you changed the way you speak to your audience and not have a monotone ( if you catch my drift) you could potentially see over 500k subs it’s your way of sending the information that doesn’t appeal to younger generations as they’re more rowdy and stupid.
