Hey Suitonia, I'm the guy responsible for writing the last few months of revisions of the UNIWiki page on Overheating which you show and reference. First off, I'd like to thank you for making this video. This is some information that's been bugging me for a while, and I couldn't get a good lock on until I found Kadesh Priestess's forum thread. I'd also like to thank you for (indirectly and inadvertently) calling me out by showing and referencing that page... because it was a kick to get me to fix a few of the issues that page had. Second off, I'm now going to apologize for... within a few hours of the video's release, pointing out that there's a thing wrong. And it's entirely my fault that it's wrong, and for not having fixed it sooner; and I've just been fixing it over on the wiki. * The Rack Heat Generation per second for modules is not actually split between Prop Mods, Resistance Mods, and Other Mods. It's actually split Prop Mods (4%), **T2 Mods** (2%), T1/Faction Mods (1%) Also there were a few paragraphs near the bottom of the page which were wrong (the ones about heatAttenuation) so I'm glad you switched over to Kadesh's thread for that part. I can however bring the good news that the (previously untested) assertion that heatAttenuation is the driving factor behind damage spread (as opposed to the ship's slot count, which was raised as a possibility after a patch in December 2015 rewrote overheat mechanics "without changing functionality"), and that some ships may have heatAttenuations that don't match their slot counts, is correct. There are some ships (like the Jaguar) whose slot counts don't match their Attenuations. Because CCP. (Also, I fixed the wiki page.) So yeah. Thank you for making a video version of Kadesh and my walls of text, and I'm sorry for not fixing the page a few days ago before you captured screenshots of it. lol.
Thanks for writing the article, it was a great source of information. T2 being 2% and T1 being 1% also explains a 'myth' I've heard too, "Meta guns can be heated longer than T2 guns" is something you hear people say, and it seems like that is actually partially true for non-propulsion modules since they generate less rack heat.
Loved this. Have been playing EVE for many years, and hate how hard it is to find the mechanics from CCP. Decently simplified and not too long. Great video!
I knew you cause I fought against you time ago and we had a couple of talks, but luckily I looked for you today cause I had no idea about the core mechanics you just descrive, thanks man!
Great video. For overheating Is it better to stick a module that can be overheated on the begining or end of a rack. For example putting a MWD on the begining of the medium rack so it only has 1 other module next to it.
Offlined Modules or an empty slot in the high rack have exactly the same effect. You don´t need modules to be offlined in a gap to get that mathematical bonus. But sure offlining something like Neuts/NoSes in the middle of a fight that you won´t need will work and give you that bonus...but the "myth" to put offlined Salvagers and other modules in the highslot gap to gain more Heat absorbing,....is a myth. Leaving them empty is exactly the same heat absorb state. Very significant this hole idea becomes also in using Tackle Interceptors without anything in the High Slots, which can increase the amount of *heatable* MWD Cycles significantly. Another thing that would be interesting to find out,....where to put the MWD/POINT and where to place the Gap in the High and does it make a difference for the Rack Heat to the Modules. Lets say you are in a Retribution, do you want to split the guns and leave the gap in the middle, or do you place the gap in the highslot, to the right 5th slot, and does placing the mwd at the top or lower slot, make a difference in the chance of how many heat cycles you can get out. When you place the MWD in the lower midslot, and the lowslot on the right end is the active repper, is there a difference ? Which leads to the question... Do ACTIVE Modules, like Adaptive Hardener, Points and Armor Hardeners or Sensor Boosters, when they are active, somehow affect the Chance to eat one of the HeatCrits compared to PASSIVE Modules like Shield Extenders, Cap batteries and Damage Controls. I am pretty sure active modules somehow are more affected than passive modules...but only when they are active. Minchurra - How does module spacing affect heat damage? (two Videos he did about heat damage, and where he shows that offlined modules and a gap are identical) Good Video Suitonia, as usual...keep it up.
Suitonia, why have you not put your channel in your twitch mate, i just found this channel. I was upset i could not find a channel of you after watching eve is easy, but then i just found your 7 years old comment unter some AT tournament video where you rekt people with Hydra. It is linked on twitch, although it's a really small link i.imgur.com/YxDRwsH.png I'll see if I can do a better job of sharing it, thanks for letting me know.

Didn't know about offline modules and overheat, interesting!
Thanks for the video. That was really informative, especially with you walking us through the formula and the examples.
good to hear your voice
awesome video, ty for taking the time to make it and sharing

I learned some great stuff today. Thanks for posting! o7
Wow that works kind of a lot diff than I thought. I assumed each overheated module took the listed overheat damage per cycle
Great video!

Pretty nice! Keep up with these videos.
maybe I missed it but I thought that the heat from a module at the end of a rack would also transfer over to the next rack. Is that wrong?
Thanks for this!!!
Something to the power of 0 is 1... Me in a math test: 0^0 = 1 !?
perfect ! I've been looking for those formulas :D
Kudos!
Nice vid man, saved us a job too :)
