Well, it's that time again, time for a legendary matchup between me and Ukrainian player Alex, where we go Tinker PitLord, and manage to get this pesky goblin to level 10! All systems GO!
Hey Grubs, for future reference, when you have doom up on pitlord, that is the priority to cast before a howl of terror, very likely could have won you that game. Can't revive a knight who got imploded and turned into a demon.

I was, I clawed my face "doom is up, doom is up use it, USE IT NOW!" he wasn't listening though :)
It's not that he didn't, he couldn't. Pit Lord was stunned while Grubby tried to make the doom cast and died a few milliseconds after coming off of stun.
@@Salted_Fysh No, he had plenty of time both before and after the stun - he even cast howl of terror instead of doom right before he died.
@@Salted_Fysh bruh are you joking, his doom was up the entire duration of the fight from start to finish, not just the couple seconds he was stunned for. He was constantly forgetting to cast doom throughout that game. Could have just won by knight attrition

Friend convinced me to buy this game after never playing a RTS. Needless to say I suck major butt.... but I'm HOOKED on this game.

Tank games always end up being closer than they look, but I think Breath of Fire would have just won the game. The economic damage you do to towers and peasants is nuts, and of course panda doesn't die to holy light.
Always think your NE performance is way more creative and entertaining than ORC play, great works!! Would like to see more NE's games in the future if possible!

Man, those Human Towers were doing Blademaster level damage to Grubby. His tinker was taking less damage from the 3 enemy Heroes and a half dozen knights wailing on him than he was from four or five towers.
Based on how close the game was, grubby probably would have won if he had a different 2nd hero. Warden, Panda, Naga seemed like they could have been ok, or DH to keep Paladin out of Mana and use immolation.
Man, what a game.
Grubby's superior army killing build VS raider strats. Mid - late game it looked like grub might've had red on the ropes a bit but, man, that red player. He just KEPT GOING.
"Am I losing an expo? Eh, I'll use my tanks to take one of his." Red was stone cold. GOOD GAME!

It's really hard to counter tanks specially when your NE. Maybe 2 dragon may change game but its too slow to move..anyway ggwp
This guy likes to be a pain in the ass to the point it makes the other player go insane from frustration. It is an effective strategy

Ahahaha yeah, would have been super easy too if grubby hadn't played extremely trashy this game. Constantly forgetting to use doom when it was up. But especially bad at that last fight. Also putting two talismans on pit lord which do not stack. And letting his tinker lose most his hp just afk taking out towers in the bottom left expo.
grubby DUDE, pls make a control group 9 for all utility units (zeppelin, shredder etc) in case you lose them since it happens frequently on big maps.

got a lvl 10 tinkerer once. played half the game with just him because all of my units were focused constantly. he couldnt beat tinkerer :D then as i am mounting the final assault, he gets a single chimera out before i land the last hit on the roost. i have no orb. he precedes to level my base and i survive with only 1 tree of life on an expansion before i find an orb. but then i cant leave the tree and he just rebuilds and kills me.
intense game even it was an 1hr game.

I haven't played WC3 for more than 10 years now and just reading the line "lvl 10 Tinker" still sends shivers down my spine.

Pitlord was not the best pick vs MK and Palading. nice game
Perfect combo is Tinker + dryads. Only thing is should have used mg instead of bear. Since mg is more resistant to magic.
Resistant to magic but rekt by knights. Not unit choice but hero choice is what lost him that game.

The human technology was too much even for Grubby...
So hard to counter attack tanks, even with resources.
You can repair tinker in tank form :D

I'd be interested in seeing a list of heroes where you usually don't take their ultimate at level 6. I find that interesting.
I've seen Grubby take lvl 3 aura vs reincarnation on the chieftain during one of the final fights of the match to maximize firepower and speed. Also seen him do this with Death Knight.
It would be very battle and unit dependent especially if your hero needs lots of mana for an ult.
From the top of my head: Death Knight, Naga, Firelord, Far Seer. Sometimes Blade Master.
@@JJmanUkulele he usually takes reincarnation. I've never seen him take Earthquake though. Firelord he doesn't play often, but he took Volcano at level 7 instead of level 6 when I did see it.
Would be interested in a comprehensive list/rundown. Maybe including the situations where the ults are worth taking.

Every time PL got anywhere near hu heroes he took 500 burst damage and a stun. AM kept pally and me with plenty of mana.
the moment he hired pitlord i was like nooooooooooo hes gonna be nuked! :D Panda clearly better choice cause not undead and breath of fire is good against tanks
i also dont get why did he sell +300hp item. Also, perhaps howl was good since human didnt go priests, but rain of fire was not good at all and cleeve with tripple claws would make it greater imho

@@florelessproudmoore3994 not against knights, lol, knights have counterMG attack type and upgrade that gives them bonus damage to MG. Grubbys army was fine, it was just the pitlord and kinda passive tinker (with ultimate he must go destroying enemy's economy)
Floreless Proudmoore mountain giants dont do splash. They have medium armour which means they take additional damage from knights melee damage. Knights also have a tech (added to the game last year i think) which increases this effect even more.

Doubt it, gyros, tanks, hawks all reck chims. Just look at Ne vs Hu in FFA and you'll see what i mean :) Tinker definitely helps vs gyros though
overtime, figuring out which narratives work, over time, you could suggest certain story possibilities unfolding,

Maybe you'd want to introduce WCIII mods, that make the game easier to follow, or spectate? Or, that highlight where the player's mind was, on a different WCIII attack sheet?
Some of the things I think about, watching Tinker get to 10. Is it worth it?
Sometimes hard to find the positive catch, climbing the mountain.

Why didn't you go for chimeras late game? I think you'd annihilate him like that.
Chimeras are expensive and require a lot of tech. Not that easy to do if you are constantly being raided by tanks and having to rebuild your base.

tanks are too cost efficient for what they are able to do. the amount of resources it takes to stop them is too great compared to what they cost to produce.

Naw. Elf v Tanks is one of the most fun match-ups once you figure out how to play it, and elf has lots of tools (especially how we can use any tavern hero better than other races).
If you play as elf, you need to be expect weird ass strategies played against you.
@@neonKow Not exactly weird. This has been a common strat in Hu Ne for 10 plus years, particularly by Sky. Its always been extremely hard to counter if both players are at a similar skill level
