      Car Seat I can pay more attention when learining in TH-cam than my teachers teaching. Ofc, my teachers are good at teaching, some are bad, eh. But my point is, I can repeat and repeat the videos so I can understand much better. While school on the other hand, well, it's only one time, and if you're absent, you're fvcked up, plus noisy classes. I don't know why, but I learned more on the internet than my school for real.

    It Helped Me a lot, Returning senior (dropout, graduating a year late), you did a pretty good job at explaining things, but next time you make a video, use your mouse as a pointer to show your viewers exactly what number you're referring too, instead of just saying " then add the exponent" ,because people are going to wounder what number you're talking about and will be so busy looking for the number, that they'll miss the actual lesson and will have to rewind, some people get the terms confused so basically just point with the mouse at what number your talking about when talking about it so people aren't looking for it, also the speed , you explained it well, but were to fast, because you're explaining it, but don't give the viewers enough time to take in the information, try to find good pausing places, so they don't get overwhelmed and just say "f" this sh*t (a lot will). Overall Good Tutorial.

    I'm doing Dividing Polynomials in my Alg B/Trig B class, and one of the problems is: (z^4-3z^3+2z^2-4z+4)(z-1)^-1. I didn't know if I should make the fraction and distribute or just put it off till the end and have all fractions! Though, distributive property is technically "parentheses" since you do it first to remove the parentheses, even though you multiply...

    Only one comment, when x is raised to the zero power, it is 1 in nearly all cases except that x itself can not be equal to zero. Because zero raised to the zero power is "undefined".

      +Mark Keller anything with an exponent of two will have the answer of 1. no matter what

    • @markkeller5990
      @markkeller5990 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jordan Vasbinder That is simply not true. For example if you have 3 with an exponent of 2. That would mean 3 x 3. In this case, 3 x 3 is = 9, not 1 as you suggest. Furthermore, the commentator says at about 7:06 in the video that "Anything raised to the 0 power is 1". By rule zero can not be raised to the zero power because you would then have a zero in the denominator which is the very first rule of math which is you can not divide by 0.Here are 2 links to further your horizons on zero raised to the zero power (forward to 3:22 mark on khan academy link);

    I just saw something elsewhere that confused me. I want to know if you have a video addressing this >> -3^2= -9 but (-3)^2 = 9 WTH? LOL!! The explanation is that the exponent ONLY applies to the base not the sign unless there are parenthesis. Is this true?
    I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else. Do you have a video about this?
    Thanks in advance. :-)

    • @mrs.roberts1961
      @mrs.roberts1961 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your are correct - the exponent only applies to the base. The negative is ONLY part of the base if it is INSIDE parentheses. You can think of -3^2 as "The opposite of 3 to the second power" or "negative 1 times 3 to the second power". And exponents come before multiplication in the order of operations. Hope that helps!

      Bc anything you do to the bottom has to be done to the top of the equation. If you are asking why not Y^6 be Y^3.... Then why not Y^1? The reason being, the top of the equation does not have a "Y" value. So you can't take away .
