Very appreciated for the relaxing moment in time, we all need it. This is a piece of music that brings to mind a man meditating on life when I listen to it. Thank You!
One of our favorite tunes. We play it together, my wife on the harp and me on the guitar or low whistle. Her ancestors and cousins come from Ballinakill in East Galway, and they are friends with Gerard Fahy, the composer of this tune, who lives in their neighborhood.👍
Lovely! As lovely as emerald green Ireland itself! Of Irish background on my maternal side and damn proud of it! Was in Ireland many moons ago....definitely magical! Thanks for sharing~
This is soooooooo wonderfull played and a what a nice video. ********* stars for you. Hope to play the Irish whistle one day. A beautifull instrument. The sound is so warm.
I like Joanne Madden's version of Magh Seola the best. Her melody flows smoothly, her pitch is right on, and the harmonies and chord progressions are impeccable.
What a beautiful air and lovely video brings back some lovely memories of my home county of Meath I recogonise so many places Ths Cairns especially as I spent many a happy day as a child playing around them. I am gettingt a Goldie E Alto whistle soon and was wondering if you have notations for this Air or just the tune on whistle without backing so I could pick it up by ear. Many Thanks
A lovely air very well played, do you know where I could get the music for it?. I play a low D folk flute and some whistles and I would love to learn this piece. Thank you.
I would really love to have this version, including the extra instruments. I know that it is an aural tradition but as a classical piano player my ear sucks! Any chance that sheet music exists for this??
+halveyp That's great to know. Thanks. I was trying to decide whether to get a Susato or another brand, and liked the sound of yours more than any other I listened to.
Brenda Drew... in reply... please go home... if you do, there you will find yourself and all that has been given to you what you are. This is the land of your birth... of ancestors waiting to greet from the Irish soil. We all shall return to the soil of our birth... Creation . God bless
@musicmental85 send me your email address in a private message and I'll send you what I have. It might just be the main melody with chords but if your piano player can improvise at all it should be good.

Low G whistle gives it a mellow feel. Beautiful with the harmonies.
Beautiful - one of my favourite tunes, so well played and love the low whistle harmonies!
