Don't forget also about facial muscle lost and facial muscle and fat you can significantly reduced it using fillers especially permanent filler like silicon based filler but bone lose their some invasive treatment stimulate new growth of bone but all of this are just to minimize not fully reverse there is no way to fully reverse aging currently
I'm 67 years old power lifter and fitness trainer I don't have wrinkles and no sagging skin either. Skin problems people eat too much sugar junk food and smoking, process food and trans fat and that damage collagen and cause premature aging of the skin, diabetes and stroke .Taking supplements and skin care don’t help when collagen are damage.
You and I follow an identical skin protocol. I convinced my husband to use a reputable, but inexpensive over- the -counter cream at night that has retrinol, urea and ceramides, and 50+ sunscreen in the daytime. His skin improvements are remarkable.
All sunscreens break down within 2 hours. Why dont any doctors recommend sun protective clothing and wide brim SPF 50 plus hats? They protect the whole time.
Sunscreen, Tretinoin/adapalene, alpha hydroxy acids, resistance training exercises, nutrition plus collagen/HA/B3 supplementation, and a moisturizer with ceramides. I do all of these except in the summer my skin can't handle moisturizers. I could probably do more RT and less sugar for improved results.
@@bobgatewood5277 I'm very happy with the results. The only difference is I rarely do the acids now and have added monthly microneedling. My skin looks great, small pores, little discoloration, no pimples or other types of bumps. I don't even need makeup unless I'm getting dressed up or taking photos.
“Ceramides are lipids associated with atherosclerotic plaque formation, hypertension, insulin resistance, and obesity” (Mayo Clinic) - Anybody know if the ceramides in lotions can be absorbed to cause harm?
You didn't mention microplastics and nanoplastics in sunscreen. Microplastics and nanoplastics which are now found in plaque and associated with heart problems. The latest information I can find is that the amounts vary widely in people and sources are not well understood. Microplastics and nanoplastics are also common components of cosmetics. I would like a video about your thoughts on this.
I think you're confusing microplastics in cosmetics and polymer plastics in cosmetics which are two different things. If you have a citation I'd be curious to read it!!!
Absolutely would love to hear more in-depth information on all of those procedures and devices- I am already doing almost all of them and seeing amazing results!
Not a study, but there is a short podcast from ‘BBC Sounds’, called Sliced Bread. There’s an episode called ‘Bedding’ that touches on it. Also available on Spotify.
Thanks for the video. Please make one talking about red light therapy and these more advanced treatments and their effectiveness and scientific studies on this 🙌🏼
I'm very interested in learning more about Tixel, the thermal ablation procedure that Bryan Johnson found the best, for example. It is supposed to be as effective as RF micro needling, but without the danger of destroying subcutaneous fat.
I started collagen peptide supplements and notice improvement in less than 2 weeks. It's crazy how effective this is. I only add one thing at a time so will soon be moving on to other things. Edit: I did answer three questions below, but those answered simply disappeared. TH-cam is strange sometimes. Maybe they didn't like me mentioning the brand. So: 1) Mid 60s, 2) Looked at one specific part of my arms that showed wrinkles when moved and compared that before and after. Would advise others to find a wrinkled spot and take pics before and after. Don't rely on "plumpness" or other more subjective measures.
@@elephantintheroom5678 I held my arm straight out, bent it in at 90 degrees, this causes the skin on the forearm to crunch together. Before starting, this caused a series of lines near the elbow that were very visible. When I do that now, there is really nothing there. Without analytical equpment and expertise, that's the best I can do. So I think it's objective, but since this is an observation, there is a possibility of self-deception. I do think it's important that anyone using this should devise some similiar test, focused on specific areas. I wish I had taken photos. I also would not use a general test based on "looks better" "plumper" as those are easier to self-deceive.
Yess i would like hear and what devises would be good. Any recomendations I've been looking redlight devises but so many of them and not sure if they are a scam.
Absolutely I believe all of the human beings want to hear from your deep research about photo modulation and skin aging! I also want to know if there are any news about the rapamycin trial that you operate!!!
Great video! Is spray on sunscreen Okay; we get a lot of sun in Miami, lol... I remember hearing that any SPF over 30 (I think), had no benefits; is this true? What about hydration? Is simple water the best option, or something with electrolytes / minerals / alkaline /etc, a better choice? .
As you suggested in the end, I would be interested in hearing what you have found in your research into laser treatments, photodyanamic therapy, radio frequency devices and red light therapy.
What about oral elastin peptides in form of powder or pills? If hydrolyzed collagen is improving the skin, hydrolyzed elastin should do the same thing. We need more studies about elastin supplements.
@DrBradStanfield Thank you for this video Dr. Stanfield. It's great to have all of this information in one place. I notice that you use the Sodium Hyaluronate form of Hyaluronic Acid in Micro Vitamin. Is Sodium Hyaluronate a high molecular weight form of Hyaluronic Acid? I am looking into various supplements and it's not clear to me if this is the case.
Hi Dr Brad. Thanks for your excellent series of quality, science-backed videos. I pretty much adhere to the various topical and supplemental suggestions you have made over the years. One question: I acquired Paula's Choice AHA and BHA (as per this video) and I am about to include them in my regime: twice per week as per your own practice. However - I note that the Directions on both products state that the products (one or two pumps) can be applied "once or twice daily". This is a lot more than twice weekly. So I am wondering if I could use these Paula's Choice products every day AND THEN continue to apply my Retinal product every night with no breaks - - as opposed to applying these Paula's Choice products twice weekly and, on the day of application, forgo my usual retinal product. These two potential regimes are very different and I was wondering if you had an opinion on this. Kind Regards.
I've been doing at home micro needling for about 12 yrs. I absolutely recommend, but do your homework/ research before you start. There's a lot of info on YT about it.
Very effective, including for hair growth, but if anyone is doing it at home follow hygiene guidelines otherwise you're going to destroy your face and likely get an infection
My question about collagen building treatments is whether "stacking" them actually provides an increased benefit. For instance, if a retinoid is used, would vitamin C serum or glycolic acid multiply the effects?Would adding LED or micro-needling provide significant additional benefits? I cannot find an answer.
i would love a video on the concentrations/types of substances. like i have a soap bar with glycolic acid. is that good enough? i also use a serum that has 2% glycolic and lactic. with niancinimide and salicylic. Do I need stronger versions?
Skip retinol; go big: try retinaldehyde instead. I like Naturium. The Ordinary recently released one that is twice the strength of the Naturium. I would start with the Naturium .05%, next tube go up in strength to Naturium .1% and then possibly move up to The Ordinary .2% . Edit: the above is great in the U.S. If you are in Europe or have access to the European market, you could seek out Geek and Gorgeous. I’ve heard they have a wonderful (and quite affordable) retinaldehyde as well.
I’d like to know about the absorption and possible side effects beyond the skin of applying retinoids (on skin, of course), if they could be as bad as the oral supplementation of vitamin A for the liver for example.
Another excellent video covering all the main points Brad. As a professional Aesthetician I would expand on your mention of Red Light/NIR therapy as a well proven addition to help reverse skin aging and I have seen excellent results in clinic. I personally use a sunscreen that has DNA repair enzymes in them and these have had significant studies showing their benefit in repairing sun damaged skin. But as you stressed - prevention is better than cure 😄
Hi Brad, for those of us who are vain and still would like a sun tan, what are your thoughts on a peptide like Melanotan to achieve this, which would allow for a tan with limited sun exposure?
what about sauna and cold showers? doesnt that act a bit simular like moisture creams? I really dont wanna be thinking about putting on stuff on my face :)
