- Patreon is a future Myspace Jack Conti just doesnt know it yet.
Patreon got too comfortable, the problem is their business is one that is easily copied. It is the creators who are the customer, by rocking the boat they literally opened up new competition in a market anyone with a laptop and some wordpress/woocommerce skills could hop into. All that was needed was the motivation of the creators to seek a new alternative. RIP Patreon.
One of my buddies watched the video and said, "what inspired me to talk about this on my 3d printing channel" I watched a video from "Naiomi Wu" who produces 3d printing content bring up the topic and how it affected her on her channel. This company is fairly new and I am not sure these guys grasp how vulnerable and weak they are, they are LITERALLY toying with their clients livelihood and it will not be forgotten. A key to protecting your business is understanding who the client is, and what you should protect, buy or sell. Patreon is about to get a hard lesson.
B Smith agreed without a agnostic method of moving money. These guys are free to collude and hide behind many shields. ACH should be usable without needing a third party service.

Hold it! Patreon is going to be sued, because PayPal covered Patreon ass!
I think many people haven't gone Patreon, but it's on their to-do list. I'm one of them.
There are too many completely non-political users on Patreon and they make such a good profit that they won't have any real problem. If an alternative does appear this year then they may not get an employee bonus for a year or two but it won't cause them much issue. However it is Ironic that they managed to injure their own golden egg laying goose...
