Carter you were so highly recommended by a friend a while ago. He said you were the king of sharpening. I look forward to looking back over the playlist to find a video of your earlier sharpening videos

I'm glad I came across this video! I was hoping to buy Shapton stones but I'm definitely going to get these instead! These look incredible and I believe in Carter's reputation and I know these will be just as good, if not better, than Shapton stones!

I thought a major japanese philosophy is to stick to nature and simplicity?... I really loved your original videos carter.

    - The only way to cut them, is with diamonds.
    - Yeah."

      The point is
"the ONLY way to cut them, is with diamonds"
I hate misinformation, myths. People get confused and frustated. When you are a big man, your words have weight, people listen and learn from them. That's the point.
Yes, hi-end alloys, "engineering" steels and extreme hard materials are more difficult to manage, requires more effort or non-conventional tools, but they are not from another world, they still can be grinded and sharpened, just like diamonds are.
Every tool has an application, and diamonds are no different, but they're not the only way, there are several ways to sharp hard steels, including better and faster ones than diamond plates.

Oh, btw, who has a SiC knife? lol
SiC are designed to make things like breaking discs for Ferrari. Just for the fun of it.

@@kappablanca5192 oh, I never saw this coming, nor I knew that such a thing existed. Thanks a lot, I'm gonna check it.
Here in Brazil we barely have decent whetstones, good ones are rare and very expensive. Anyway, it's been a long time since my last reseach on this topic.
About maxamet, if one have a 70 hrc knife, I would pic a soft and fluffy King 1000, just to make my evening more interesing and busy lol
For me, anything above 62 hrc is just too serious stuff. Ok 65 hrc, just because of some japanese knives. Tooling steels, maxamets and carbides don't make me laugh.
