This Akula girl is good. Not that she won but she is a strategic player. I think Akula can adapt and adjust accordingly to the tactical changes of her opponent. Great win for Akula!
Yes. She has a powerful fh and she keeps it very simple. Use BH to block, place and set up, and use FH to counter and kill. No getting caught in twiddling etc unlike Manika Batra. Manika doesn't have a killer fh like Sreeja

Incredible strategic play from Akula. The constant push to the back hand causing Wang Yidi to lift the ball and smashing right back was seen again and again. I guess that's how you take down giants, by strategically targeting their weaknesses, not a head to head fight. One of the most strategic matches yet for sure
That's the wonder of Akura's rubber, it seems that the absorber effect made the ball returned softly. The Chinese players use to play fast ball cannot adapt it.

What incredible forehand from the little Indian girl. However, she’s got zero backhand and that should have been her downfall. But why is WYD so afraid of looping her blocks and push every single ball, regardless high or low? The slow return gave her plenty of time to play forehand on the whole table.
It's not that she has zero BH. It's her longpip rubber that reverses the spin. So all of WYD's spinning loops come back with heavy backspin. She is forced to push those balls and Sreeja is ready waiting for them to kill

@girish325 forced to push? Don’t make me laugh. Majority of those don’t have the quality to force the push. This is just nerve.
Yeah, right, the nerve throughout the whole match.
If you aren’t comfortable with looping pushes, then the nerve is always there regardless of how many matches. So many of those pushes (actually blocks or touches) have no quality. The balls were too high and long. Look at the match again. Wang loops all of them if it goes to her forehand, and push every that goes to her backhand, regardless of spin or height.
Sun Ying-sha also got hit by Long Pimple, and this Indian player is like a short Pimple. China is good at handling Pimple and China is not good at preparing for Indian players. ㅅ.ㅅ China or India are going to pick the best table tennis player out of 1.5 billion people, so they are very competitive in tactics. The cost-effectiveness is Korea!
