    I’ve talked to guys that use a Zman floating bait. Any of the larger ones. They pitch it to docks and instead of the bait hitting the bottom it floats up. After they give it a few seconds to float up, they pull the line, the bait heads back to the bottom and repeat. It’s like a reverse drop shot.

    This works so well for BFS - even works in Saltwater
    Finese 1/16 or 1/8 weights 4lb braid straight to the hook.

      Hi Fredrick, we always use fluorocarbon as a leader. Why Is braid straight to the hook better?

  • @LimitedGunnerGM
    @LimitedGunnerGM ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Try it in pads with a Zman GOAT. It will actually pull line as it floats up (the weight stays in the bottom). You can actually go UP and DOWN repetitively among the stems/stalks. Great for pressured areas.

    I believe this is the best fishing rig ever. You can customize it to any situation imaginable. You can probably even catch shark with it if you scale it up.

    • @simplyengineering2350
      @simplyengineering2350 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best fishing rig depends on the scenario it's being used in. But I would agree that the bullet weight and this weight are awesome. I've used this many times when i've ran out of bullet weights. Been doing it for a very long time. I think a lot of people have been. It's not new to the United States that's for sure. Maybe new to youtube.

  • @tilfliegel
    @tilfliegel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's really like a t-tig with a different sinker. I also like to use those sinkers for a c-rig because they are just more sensitive, as the line goes through much more easily.

    • @LimitedGunnerGM
      @LimitedGunnerGM ปีที่แล้ว

      It is like an unpegged T-rig… somewhat. But the bigger benefit is that the line isn’t banging into the rocks and cover. Way less line damage versus T-rigging.

      Yes, overall I was happy with the result when I tried it. No lie my very first cast with it I caught a fish 😂😂😂 small one but still fun when that happens. I think it’s fun when you can change up the game and throw something different.

  • @gordjohnson70
    @gordjohnson70 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hold the bait in your hand and allow the weight to sink straight down to the bottom. Then let your bait free fall ALL THE WAY from top to bottom. The bait is in my hand and the weight is 20' down before I ever let the bait go.

    This functions literally the exact same as a texas rigged worm/craw/lizard with a bullet weight unpegged. I have no idea why everyone is acting like this is a new revelation in bass fishing.

    • @artillerylife
      @artillerylife  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is very very similar but I wanted to test it out regardless. The biggest difference I found was that the swivel sinker moves a lot more freely on the line which allows the bait to go straight down with out the slight arc an unpegged Texas rig gives you along with some other subtle differences. Just another option for over pressured fish in my opinion, I usually only throw this on tough bite days

    Looks exactly the same as a regular-ol' Texas Rig, except maybe a bit snaggier. I don't get the point.

    • @artillerylife
      @artillerylife  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s very similar but the big difference maker is the “swivel sinker”. This allows the weight to move much more free up and down the line giving the bait freedom of motion. Gives a bit of different look when the fish are highly pressured. Hope this helps

    • @artillerylife
      @artillerylife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      As for the snags I don’t recommend throwing is in “grassy areas” I’ve had the best success with it under docks and on drop offs.
