My brother and I did this when we were 21 and 20. Best 2 months of my life. Never felt more free and had less stress, and we were in a 1973 VW van that broke down all the time. Now seeing an 18 year old do this, is giving my wife and I ideas about how to spend a year or two of our lives. Although we would purchase a bit bigger of a RV. I am 59 years old and she is 55. Thanks for the new inspiration Finn for showing some awesome picture opportunities that my wife would love to take. She hikes/paddleboards all over AZ/UT and is a photographer/blogger of all the things she does, while I seem to never have time because of running my trucking company. Time to let my company run on it's own (I could run it from the road if i really wanted to), and enjoy some of the time we have left while we still can. Would love to do it on a sailboat too, but my wife doesn't like the ocean as much as I do.
Go do it while your young and able, as you said your employees can run the business and you can work remotely to over see it all. Don’t wait for cancer or any another reason to stop you, your wife will love it from how you described her lifestyle. My hubby suffered cancer for 12 years, we too had a business of exports imports, and good employees to manage whilst hubby was at home working remotely.. please go and don’t wait, we missed so many opportunities to travel because of his I’ll health, his now well due to a stem cell transplant and we are now planning to travel Oz by road, we’ve done most of Oz sailing ourselves, or catamaran holidays of up to 30 people maximum.. pls just do it… ❤

I remember this life style before it was called van life…we where called hippies! I was damn proud of it too. Finn live your best life everyday remember to document yes, but also know when something is so meant just for you in that moment to see and experience that cameras can get in the way. Finn, the shot with the barn, fence, and Grand Tetons in the background was epic. You should make a print of it to hang in your van. I think you learn a lot about yourself when you travel alone. You can do what you want, when you want, for as long as you want without hearing others complain or give their opinion, or keep you from doing what you want to do by having to wait on them. I was in Jackson Hole several years ago and it is heaven on earth. Saw the Tetons, stayed at a Dude Ranch which is highly recommended-they have old fashioned cabins with no TVs, near a river, they take you on horseback rides where you go on a top speed cattle chase, you hear coyotes at night off in the distance. They serve the best western style dinners each night with Native Americans doing their tribal dance. Also you gotta go white water rafting on the Snake River in Jackson Hole. The wildest ride and most fun. In southwest Colorado there’s a town called Durango near the San Juan Mountains with peaks above timberline over 14,000 feet. There’s ghost towns there from the 1800s, waterfalls and snow that stays on the ground throughout summer which we went shoe skiing down. The Rio Grande train ride is worth checking out and so are the ancient cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park.

As a 32 year old who’s scared to do it herself, if I could tell my high school self one thing it would be: do it while you’re young. And don’t take out loans in college. In fact. Forget college. Just travel and find cool people to work for. You don’t want to work in an office. Trust me. 10 years into my career with an engineering degree and I dream of seasonally shoveling poop on a farm… Anyway, good luck!

finn....i’ve been watching you for almost a year now. it was the year before my last year of college, which i just graduated from almost a month ago. the comfort that it brought me during that time i wouldn’t trade for a thing. my dream is to buy a van and travel the world with my friends and my future is inching closer by the millisecond,... i’m taking a gap year to work on some projects and hopefully to travel too before going to university and oh man, i just stumbled upon this now, i read the title and my heart sunk with happiness... i am so happi for you...the people that you’ll meet on the road are gonna be really cool people and i wish for you endless singalongs, gentle winds, warm fires, safe drives, calming rains, ripples of laughter and an array of smiles. !!!!!!!!!! all my best and if ur ever in montreal , you’ve got a pal in me !!!! also... there’s this song called "mandonlin wind" by rod stewart and its’s the sweetest thing, it”s about finding comfort in the seasons, which is what i hope will unwind in your road.!

Lowe's is a great parking lot to crash for an overnight park. Great internet and many have security camera towers to watch over you. Someone tried to get into my bus when I parked off in a dark corner. Luckily my dog alerted me. The dome light came on when the door opened. Now I park next to the camera towers. They are motion sensitive and a recorded message comes on when someone walks by. Their lots are also much quieter then Walmart.

I'm only a teenager, but I've always dreamed of this sort of thing. You're basically living my dream life. Since I was four years old, I've been a die-hard sailing kid. All the stereotypes. Cussing like a sailor at twelve years old, being all crazy and adventurous, especially with my friends. I have all these wonderful memories of me as a little kid at sailing camp, staying at the yacht club on the rainy days and watching Disney movies--getting stung by jellyfish and capsizing boats with my friends--basically, those were the good days. I discovered your channel, like, an hour ago, and I've been binging your videos since. My dad was the same way. He's like my best friend. We just moved on from our J105 sailing yacht that I've had for years--I have so many great memories on it. We now have a fresh new J112E. Better for racing, cruising--all of the above. I've always dreamed about sailing around the world. I love everything about the ocean and the mountains. I could live in Rhode Island or Vermont forever. I've always wanted to be free and travel around the world, documenting my experiences through TH-cam, just like you. You're really an inspiration to me. And here I am at 1:00 in the morning on a random summer day, telling a complete stranger that I found out existed about an hour ago how much of an inspiration they are to me. I'm so silly 😭

It's almost 3am and I've been watching these kinds of videos for a few hours now... I really can't wait to get out there and explore the wonders this world has to give me. I've got less than 2 years till I turn 18... Which might seem scary but It I know that it will open a lot of doors to life and experiances when I get to that point of life, For almost a year now I have taken a liking to living that van life and traveling the world, and after coming across this video, It embarked a spark in me to try my best to strive for a life like this. Oh man, I can't wait! Great shot of you, the barn, and the Tetons in the background. Several years ago my son visited the Tetons and sent me an photo of him sitting on top of middle Teton dangling his legs over the edge. Here’s a suggestion for a place to visit: after you tour Yellowstone (which you MUST!), take the Chief Joseph Highway through Cooke City and on to Cody, Wyoming, to go see the Buffalo Bill Center of the West (it’s 4 museums in one) at Cody, Wyoming. Then travel south to Thermopolis, Wyoming - there’s a beautiful campground there. Before you go to Yellowstone, invest in a decent spotting scope, tripod, and camp stool - you’ll be glad you gave them to look at the wildlife. You can get a decent spotting scope at Walmart for a reasonable price.
Take it from an old man, don't stop enjoying those times and keep documenting your story. You'll always have reminders and memories. Fun times.

finn....i’ve been watching you for almost a year now. it was the year before my last year of college, which i just graduated from almost a month ago. the comfort that it brought me during that time i wouldn’t trade for a thing. my dream is to buy a van and travel the world with my friends and my future is inching closer by the millisecond,... i’m taking a gap year to work on some projects and hopefully to travel too before going to university and oh man, i just stumbled upon this now, i read the title and my heart sunk with happiness... i am so happi for you...the people that you’ll meet on the road are gonna be really cool people and i wish for you endless singalongs, gentle winds, warm fires, safe drives, calming rains, ripples of laughter and an array of smiles. !!!!!!!!!! all my best and if ur ever in montreal , you’ve got a pal in me !!!! also... there’s this song called "mandonlin wind" by rod stewart and its’s the sweetest thing, it”s about finding comfort in the seasons, which is what i hope will unwind in your road.!

Have fun on your journey and stay safe! Also you might be able to pick up some black out curtains at a travel plaza for the front of your van. When I drove semi-trucks we had they to block off the cab area for more privacy when parked & that's where they were sold & they were easy to install!

Lowe's is a great parking lot to crash for an overnight park. Great internet and many have security camera towers to watch over you. Someone tried to get into my bus when I parked off in a dark corner. Luckily my dog alerted me. The dome light came on when the door opened. Now I park next to the camera towers. They are motion sensitive and a recorded message comes on when someone walks by. Their lots are also much quieter then Walmart.

I'm only a teenager, but I've always dreamed of this sort of thing. You're basically living my dream life. Since I was four years old, I've been a die-hard sailing kid. All the stereotypes. Cussing like a sailor at twelve years old, being all crazy and adventurous, especially with my friends. I have all these wonderful memories of me as a little kid at sailing camp, staying at the yacht club on the rainy days and watching Disney movies--getting stung by jellyfish and capsizing boats with my friends--basically, those were the good days. I discovered your channel, like, an hour ago, and I've been binging your videos since. My dad was the same way. He's like my best friend. We just moved on from our J105 sailing yacht that I've had for years--I have so many great memories on it. We now have a fresh new J112E. Better for racing, cruising--all of the above. I've always dreamed about sailing around the world. I love everything about the ocean and the mountains. I could live in Rhode Island or Vermont forever. I've always wanted to be free and travel around the world, documenting my experiences through TH-cam, just like you. You're really an inspiration to me. And here I am at 1:00 in the morning on a random summer day, telling a complete stranger that I found out existed about an hour ago how much of an inspiration they are to me. I'm so silly 😭

Good for you Finn. Make everyday an adventure! I did that myself about 30 years ago. Utah was my favorite place I think. Moab, Zion, Bryce, Arches and Capital Reef should go on your list. Just driving along the Green River is amazing too. Have fun wherever the wind takes you!

It's almost 3am and I've been watching these kinds of videos for a few hours now... I really can't wait to get out there and explore the wonders this world has to give me. I've got less than 2 years till I turn 18... Which might seem scary but It I know that it will open a lot of doors to life and experiances when I get to that point of life, For almost a year now I have taken a liking to living that van life and traveling the world, and after coming across this video, It embarked a spark in me to try my best to strive for a life like this. Oh man, I can't wait! Im a people person and love to visit, hang, and meet new people. I think when i hit the road in my ambulance Conversion to live the van life, the meeting new people and making new friends all over, is the second thing im looking forward to, right behind seeing all the beauty around the country.

Great shot of you, the barn, and the Tetons in the background. Several years ago my son visited the Tetons and sent me an photo of him sitting on top of middle Teton dangling his legs over the edge. Here’s a suggestion for a place to visit: after you tour Yellowstone (which you MUST!), take the Chief Joseph Highway through Cooke City and on to Cody, Wyoming, to go see the Buffalo Bill Center of the West (it’s 4 museums in one) at Cody, Wyoming. Then travel south to Thermopolis, Wyoming - there’s a beautiful campground there.
Before you go to Yellowstone, invest in a decent spotting scope, tripod, and camp stool - you’ll be glad you gave them to look at the wildlife. You can get a decent spotting scope at Walmart for a reasonable price.
