Ren was misdiagnosed for years, he had Lyme disease. Since they were treating him for everything and anything but that with different medications that did additional harm. The entire time the Lyme disease was attacking his body crippling him and his mind, double vision, , headaches. They also treated him for whatever mental illness they thought he might have this week. His body reached a point where it was totally rejecting food. He’s just gone in for another round of intensive treatments since the last 18 month treatment failed and the Lyme disease is once again making him very ill.
Ren doing things his own way and man is it refreshing! Really enjoying your journey down the rabbit hole. I warn you! It just get better! Glad you caught this before the Kujo beat down. Big backstory which is linked to this song.

Lyrics are available on other sources too. Also, Bartonella is the bacteria that is passed from tick bites that causes Lyme's disease and because his went UNDIAGNOSED for around 10 yrs and THAT'S what caused his psychosis and other brain damage. Subsequently the meds prescribed before they knew what was going on caused damaging side effects because he didn't ACTUALLY need them.
Ren was signed by Sony as a teen, before he started getting sick. He tells he story in “The Chapters”, a series of videos about his personal journey. He would have to rest a lot to gather his energy before he could go in stage, and then he would completely crash right after. That’s what the bit about the industry being cutthroat and having to push his suffering down “for the pic” is about. Eventually, he was just too sick, and they had to dissolve the contract. Honestly, I think it’s a blessing in disguise that they dropped him. He wouldn’t have the same artistic freedom. Being independent, although being a lot of work, has served him well. Ren has a chronic disease called Lyme disease. After years of going undiagnosed it tore up his body and his organs. It caused him to have a few autoimmune diseases (MCAS, POTS). The disease moved up into his brain causing brain neuropathy and brain damage to his memory. He has relapsed hard (in the last few weeks) and his symptoms have come back hard. He is at a (private)specialized medical clinic in Canada getting aggressive treatment for who knows how long. The medical industry (NHS) told him for years it was all in his head and he just had mental issues he had to deal with and that was making him sick. This is what this song is referring to. The greedy "pig" represents the medical industry and big pharma in this video.

Such a good one, I'm glad you got to hear this original version of the song, there's no telling how much longer we'll have it. I know Ren was planning to create a new version and replace this with the new soundtrack on the anniversary of the album release, which was mid-October, but then he got sick again. So we still have this one for you to hear! Also, regarding the pig mask: Ren is big fan of George Orwell, and the pig represents everything that the pigs in the book Animal Farm represented: greed, hypocrisy, systems of power, betrayal, etc.

Realize you're just starting your journey, but he's releasing the first track of his forthcoming album on 21st November called Slaughter House, which he's been working on most of this year. It's likely the only real Hip Hop track on the new album (direction will be more song/guitar-based than the last), so you might want to jump in to react to the Premiere for that. There's often funky countdowns etc.. It's always a ride and the chat goes crazy, really fun. You should really check out two songs back to back by Aesop Rock. The songs are "Get Out of the Car" and "Shrunk". They were one after the other on his album "The Impossible Kid". The first song is him trying to convince himself to get out of the car and go to therapy. The second song is his experience in the therapist's office. Verse 1=filling out paperwork, Verse 2=waiting in the lobby, Verse 3=talking to the therapist. If you''ve never heard of Aesop Rock, he is an undergroud rapper from Long Island who has been rapping for almost 30 years now and is widely considered to be one of the top lyricists in the world. He uses metaphor and imagery to convey mental pictures and emotions. His flow and beats are unique. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend! This is the song at the centre of Rens troubles he sings about in Kujo Beatdown. There is a 35 minue video by Ren, explaining the background of how Kujo Beatdown had to be released. A few reactors who have only recently become aware of Ren heard Kujo Beatdown first, which shows a very different side if Ren. ANGRY Ren. I recommend both videos. Also, love the cat. The biggest part of Ren's 8 year nightmare from undiagnosed Lyme disease, (bitten by a tick Boi) was the excruciating pain, brain fog and fatigue that comes with the untreated disease. He was bed bound much of the time, then had depression and anxiety because of it. He was also wrongly diagnosed with bipolar. He was never institutionalized. Even when he had to go to the hospital because of his symptoms, it was short stays.
LOL You're getting Ren and you haven't even made it to his real hard hitting content. In the last year he's turned down contracts with all the major record labels and features and collaborations with many big name artists (he chooses his collaborations without a care for how big they are, only based on if he feels them and their messages). Wait until you get to things like the Money Games trilogy or his older songs like Crucify Your Culture. A couple months ago, Ren had his very first televised appearance - he was a guest on the Sky Arts Awards, a UK black tie event raising money for the arts. Ren did a slowed down acoustic version of Money Game 2... a song about greed. It was so hardcore; him, a mic and one of his best friends on guitar... literally calling the audience "mother effers" to their faces.
Order doesn't matter if you're comparing to something like NF's journey. This one was filmed in the same room as Hi Ren and was done the same visit they finished Hi Ren (the final speech at the end). You've already dodged the worst error by not doing Kujo Beat Down before this song (the producer of this song stole the choir sample and sold it as his, then tried to hold Sick Boi hostage with a copyright strike, there's a whole thing, prompting Beat Down). Ren was signed with Sony before he got sick, and they dropped him after he got sick. He's been independent since. I also recommend Seven Sins.
This song will take you in a couple directions, but one of them ends in Kujo Beatdown. Before you react to it, I suggest a little research before, but you really just need the gist of what happened.
The trouble Ren went through to get this song done in the first place, and then having Kujobeats hold it hostage for a beat that HE stole . . . Uncle Bito, I am thinking about your comments on "Your mind is making you sick" lyric. What you think and how you act as a result can in fact make you sick. Basically, it is stress induced condition that threatens your body in different ways. For me it was supreme hatred for a coworker I had to work next to every day for 3 years. I was so sick to my stomach near him that I developed GERD and ended up with and upper GI and medicines to compensate. I already knew in fact what was causing my stress and how it was affecting my body. I treid to focus on positive things in my work environment but that did not last. Eventually, I was so unhappy that I quit the job and moved out of state as a result. In retrospect it was a poor decision though I thought otherwise at the time. When I watch 'Sick Boi' I immediately think of that time in my life. What could I have done differently to achieve success other than quitting a crapy situation.
The truth is not as unpopular as you might think , the fans made Sick Boi a number One album in the U.K without Ren doing even one public performance. Just like you the rest of us are thirsty for the truth .
"Your mind is making you sick" annoys me because they told Ren his physical pain was all in his head for years, many years of suffering then he discovers by finally a good doctor that he has lyme disease and by this time now it had fucked up his body and immune system!! So it wasn't just "in his mind" , it was real pain.

Such a good one, I'm glad you got to hear this original version of the song, there's no telling how much longer we'll have it. I know Ren was planning to create a new version and replace this with the new soundtrack on the anniversary of the album release, which was mid-October, but then he got sick again. So we still have this one for you to hear! Also, regarding the pig mask: Ren is big fan of George Orwell, and the pig represents everything that the pigs in the book Animal Farm represented: greed, hypocrisy, systems of power, betrayal, etc.

This track is sick, I never tire of it !! Realize you're just starting your journey, but he's releasing the first track of his forthcoming album on 21st November called Slaughter House, which he's been working on most of this year. It's likely the only real Hip Hop track on the new album (direction will be more song/guitar-based than the last), so you might want to jump in to react to the Premiere for that. There's often funky countdowns etc.. It's always a ride and the chat goes crazy, really fun. Ren was hoping to have stabilized before starting to release but as that's not happened he's going to start releasing anyway, hoping that process feeds back positively for his recovery. Would be great to see you at the Premiere. Reactions coming out soon after release helps him too, he watches quite a lot and sometimes comments directly - they start hitting TH-cam within 1-2 hours ! 💙

You should really check out two songs back to back by Aesop Rock. The songs are "Get Out of the Car" and "Shrunk". They were one after the other on his album "The Impossible Kid". The first song is him trying to convince himself to get out of the car and go to therapy. The second song is his experience in the therapist's office. Verse 1=filling out paperwork, Verse 2=waiting in the lobby, Verse 3=talking to the therapist.
If you''ve never heard of Aesop Rock, he is an undergroud rapper from Long Island who has been rapping for almost 30 years now and is widely considered to be one of the top lyricists in the world. He uses metaphor and imagery to convey mental pictures and emotions. His flow and beats are unique. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!

This is the song at the centre of Rens troubles he sings about in Kujo Beatdown. There is a 35 minue video by Ren, explaining the background of how Kujo Beatdown had to be released. A few reactors who have only recently become aware of Ren heard Kujo Beatdown first, which shows a very different side if Ren. ANGRY Ren. I recommend both videos.

This is the title track off his UK no.1 album.
He did it all totally independently, with no label, and whilst he was in recovery.
He’s bedridden again at the moment with severe fatigue and neuropathy, he’s relapsed into Lyme disease.
This track involves a sample that was not cleared by the producer he bought it off.
The whole thing got legal and affected his whole album. The stress I feel caused his relapse.
He made an incredible diss track called Kujo beat down, named after the producer in question. It’s absolutely fire 🔥

The biggest part of Ren's 8 year nightmare from undiagnosed Lyme disease, (bitten by a tick Boi) was the excruciating pain, brain fog and fatigue that comes with the untreated disease. He was bed bound much of the time, then had depression and anxiety because of it. He was also wrongly diagnosed with bipolar. He was never institutionalized. Even when he had to go to the hospital because of his symptoms, it was short stays.

LOL You're getting Ren and you haven't even made it to his real hard hitting content. In the last year he's turned down contracts with all the major record labels and features and collaborations with many big name artists (he chooses his collaborations without a care for how big they are, only based on if he feels them and their messages). Wait until you get to things like the Money Games trilogy or his older songs like Crucify Your Culture. A couple months ago, Ren had his very first televised appearance - he was a guest on the Sky Arts Awards, a UK black tie event raising money for the arts. Ren did a slowed down acoustic version of Money Game 2... a song about greed. It was so hardcore; him, a mic and one of his best friends on guitar... literally calling the audience "mother effers" to their faces.
When asked about it ,he said he likes being the awkward guest at the party !😂
one thing I like in this one is how the line "your mind is making you sick" also kind of sounds like "your mind is making music"

You've already dodged the worst error by not doing Kujo Beat Down before this song (the producer of this song stole the choir sample and sold it as his, then tried to hold Sick Boi hostage with a copyright strike, there's a whole thing, prompting Beat Down). Ren was signed with Sony before he got sick, and they dropped him after he got sick. He's been independent since. I also recommend Seven Sins.

The trouble Ren went through to get this song done in the first place, and then having Kujobeats hold it hostage for a beat that HE stole . . . Long stupidness resulted in "Sick Boi" being removed from streaming platforms and YT. Ren finally had all he could take, hence : "Kujo Beatdown". And a quiet word with the head of YT.

Uncle Bito, I am thinking about your comments on "Your mind is making you sick" lyric. What you think and how you act as a result can in fact make you sick. Basically, it is stress induced condition that threatens your body in different ways. For me it was supreme hatred for a coworker I had to work next to every day for 3 years. I was so sick to my stomach near him that I developed GERD and ended up with and upper GI and medicines to compensate. I already knew in fact what was causing my stress and how it was affecting my body. I treid to focus on positive things in my work environment but that did not last. Eventually, I was so unhappy that I quit the job and moved out of state as a result. In retrospect it was a poor decision though I thought otherwise at the time. When I watch 'Sick Boi' I immediately think of that time in my life. What could I have done differently to achieve success other than quitting a crapy situation.

"Your mind is making you sick" annoys me because they told Ren his physical pain was all in his head for years, many years of suffering then he discovers by finally a good doctor that he has lyme disease and by this time now it had fucked up his body and immune system!! So it wasn't just "in his mind" , it was real pain.
