No one takes away from what Jay-Z did on this track. He dropped one of the best verses of his career (in my opinion), but peak Em here just outshines with the multisyllable and percussion like cadence and flows. Very little people can ride a beat like Em can. Both did their things but Em just was on top. When two top artist come together and make songs like these, they remain on our playlists for a lifetime. @@africannuke_head2247 i say it all the time, Revival is one of his most lyrical albums ever, cant believe it got hated so much even before its release (Edit spelling)
Absolutely bro, Revival to me was Eminem having broken into a new sphere of what you can do with the pen. In eminems second verse I'm pretty sure there's a double when he's says "or is he the ladder" As in "is he the latter" of the two pictures that were painted of him first being the modern day Shakespeare, Jesus christ the king of the latter day saints, and also a scatter brain atheist, or the second image of it being a matter of taste and how people perceive his music. How his music is an escape
Bro I wanted you to explain that line "If the shoe fits I'll wear it but if it don't then y'all will swallow the truth grin and bear it." I always loved how poetic it was man. How he could act as a menace but when he doesn't they have to look at it as art. And all this while having that crazy ass rhyming and flow.
That's why I loved that SCOTUS case over protected speech vs. threats of violence posted to social media that had Chief Justice Roberts quoting Eminem and worrying about the chill on rap their decision could have while the OBAMA admin's appointed lawyers were on the opposite side!!! A couple having a nasty break up saw the man post about violent revenge he wanted on Facebook and then claimed it was just his verses used to express feeings as an aspiring rapper. Now, the facts of the situation probably did make those real fears the woman had from a relationship with previous domestic violence and no realistic efforts at rapping as part of a career. Yet it was through his Shady persona letting off steam that offered a route to contrast using art for feeling expression of emotions and real-world actions also addressed in those songs by Eminem. Roberts' concern in part was about setting up a two-tier divide where the successful and famous rappers had protected speech but not the up and comers and amateurs or just regular folks having to worry about criminalization when they used violent imagery in creating what ultimately is digital expression of content. The domestic-violence matter was serious to the woman who should get support with her experiences, but wrestling with the issues in the case made it worthy of pursuing to find that compromise on boundary lines when it comes to violent "threats" and emotional expression. Still, you just have to take in with wonder and grins an exchange in the highest court in the land between OBAMA-appointed lawyers and a CONSERVATIVE chief justice pressuring and questioning them due to concern about the implications of speech criminalization potentially hampering rap AND using Eminem lyrics as a test standard for valuable art we, the people, should protect!!!

When two people are on a song or in a piece of music together and they both are performing it's not a competition. People need to start looking at songs and collaborations as just a wonderful piece of music if it is just that and just enjoy people coming together of different backgrounds performing a song. You would never say that Eminem and Jay-Z are the same kind of rapper so why would you try to say one is better than the other in a collaboration they do when they're both bringing different styles different techniques different upbringings and different stories through the words they speak and when we hear of so-and-so and this person whoever the two or three maybe coming together on a song we can just appreciate the fact that they got together and took the time to work with one another and make something for us to hear and experience to follow through the words they say like a movie in our own head that's unique to us because we're picturing what only we can picture through what they say although people's visual thought process might be similar no one person is thinking exactly the same as another when listening to a song. We just need to start listening and appreciating to the individuals singing or rapping on their verse and stop trying to pick a winner out of a song that two people made together it isn't a battle so why should we treat it like one. Man... I've always liked this song. Now you made me love it Knox! Thanks bro 💯 Nothing better than watching the breakdown GOAT reacting to the hip-hop/rap GOAT 🐐
I think it’s harsh to say Jay got washed because both of Jay’s verses were fire and about the struggle, come up and life but I think Em was just so good on this song people forget how good Jay was. Em’s cadence, flow rhyme patterns, lyricism everything was just unbelievable and I think it’s in the top 5 performances in rap history and one of the best songs ever made with 2 goats 🐐 Also I think Nas saying Em washed Jay is iconic in its self so it’s in peoples minds as soon as Renegade is mentioned 💯👑🐐 Love all your breakdowns Knox your understanding of music is unbelievable bro 💪👑🔥
i mean jay z has talked about struggle a lot so like he didn’t do much on this track like we get it you struggled this ain’t the first time you talked about this that’s why eminem bodied jay in my opinion just cause you hop on a track and talk about struggle doesn’t mean it’s automatically the best verse
@@shaboozy2291 Em was definitely better for me aswell I just think Jay wasn’t bad I thought Jay was good but it’s because Em was so amazing it’s overshadowed. People don’t realize how crazy Knox Brian is … ( pause no diddy) but the way he breaks down bars and his memory of past hip hop is insane. You can tell he truly knows his hip hop and the real pioneers who came before him.
I remember when this was released, I was so damn excited! Like Eminem and Jay Z! And then I listened to it and was extremely upset because I loved this song when Royce and Em were on it... If Em rewrote his verses Id be excited but nope Ems same verses and Jay Z must have heard this song before even putting his verse on it considering Em and Royce version was released before the Royce and Proof Beef which means Eminem killed Jay Z on his track that he wrote 5 - 10 years before Jay wrote his verse. I want another song Jay Z Ft Em before they retire
Jay z just ain't hungry like he used to be and quite honestly got lazy with rapping, I would like for him to be on another track with em but I would like for jay to be in the same mindset when he made "Brooklyn" or even the remix to "ballin".
i think eminem being white introduced hiphop to a lot of people that would’ve never thought about it but his style and him being criticized and being white opened up a whole new road
Two of the best lefty rappers in the game creating an iconic track. So glad you broke down Jay’s verse because for me Jay, Busta Rhymes and Royce are the only rappers who have held their own against Em on their tracks
Here what I’m waiting for: Another dope reactor to breakdown the song at the beginning of the intro. @knoxhill, you only gave us a snippet, but I know I heard bars!!!
Knox I think Jay had great verses, but he had the opportunity to listen to the original track (with Royce) and come up with lines to fit the music. Em didn’t change any of his lines from the original; so in theory Jay had the answers to the test, but still didn’t get 100%
And btw.. I absolutely listen to music.. don't just skim thru it! I love the line from Nirvana "she's the one who like all our pretty songs and she likes to sing along ..... but she don't know what it means.." speaks volumes to me!
I like what jay did on this track. It was a power move, he didn’t show any technical skill. Just painted a picture of his rise. His verse is really underrated and coming back 20 years later shows his progression in urban life vs his pop culture career. It’s great writing which he doesn’t do. The foreshadowing and anticipation he creates is second to none. He’s not trying to wow you with skill. He wants you to listen. It’s effortless. “You can’t date skills and wife it”
Funny thing about Em's verse in this song: everybody, including Nas, obviously, says Em washed Jay in this song, right? Yet when people be talking about his best verse(s), it always seems to be forgotten. Best Friend, deservingly, is always brought up, but never this. In my mind, this is his best. And, the reason why I do not put Nas on the same level as Jay; the best line in his whole diss was about Em washing him on his own ish...That line won the whole beef for a lot of people. But at least Jay had the cajones to get on a track with Em. Jay=Bull Nas=Steer.
@@IvIidnight ...Great! I thought sensed a bit of sarcasm, my bad my guy. Jay said it first that Nas's verse on one his songs was not as good as one of the Bravehearts' verses.
It's alright that we cannot hear the original version. We can still enjoy the live band and Jay-Z's vocals. Additionally, how you have edited it gives the impression that you are responding to this live version. Therefore, could you please react to this live version or maybe share your thoughts on other live performances of Eminem?

Em definitely won. Cadence, verse, multi syllable schemes etc. And the main thing is EMINEM’S Energy Em’s energy is unmatched in this track Jay also lays 2 great verses but sounds like he falling asleep 😴 hitting the snooze 💤 button Em’s energy was off the radar on this jawn. Felt like Jay-Z’s verses were amazing but delivered lackluster
Who’s the king of these ludicrous lucrative lyrics. That’s 3 syllable internal to a 5 syllable end rhyme Who’s the king Ludicrous Lucrative lyrics…. 🤯 Just that alone is hard enough. But fluent in a story and through like 20 bars. Em got Jay. But top 5 jay verse of all time

Your reaction to each artist and how long it took you to breakdown the one lyrics longer than the other definitely shows who WON 💯
Is it crazy that I fall asleep listening to your breakdowns?
Haha. Is it because I have a soothing voice or I'm that boring I put you to sleep ;)
@@KnoxHill soothing def.
That wink tho my guy 😉
Just chronic narcolepsy.
@@TheBowlerwildcat he's married lol. Calm down
Years before this track existed, HedPE made a track called Renegade. You should check it out one of these TBTs
Added to my watch later, this'll be a good one
Man... I've always liked this song. Now you made me love it Knox! Thanks bro 💯 Nothing better than watching the breakdown GOAT reacting to the hip-hop/rap GOAT 🐐
Hands down one of my top collabs of all-time, wish they made more! Same goes for Wayne, there's still time and being hopeful
I bump to “off my chest” all the time now. Knox you’re killing it!
Nas himself is a goat.
i mean jay z has talked about struggle a lot so like he didn’t do much on this track like we get it you struggled this ain’t the first time you talked about this that’s why eminem bodied jay in my opinion just cause you hop on a track and talk about struggle doesn’t mean it’s automatically the best verse
@@Zentoven99 💯 bro unbelievable rapper
@@shaboozy2291 Em was definitely better for me aswell I just think Jay wasn’t bad I thought Jay was good but it’s because Em was so amazing it’s overshadowed. Yeah we have heard Jay rap about his struggle but it’s not just what you say it’s how you say it and Jay’s verses are both good for me but Em was definitely better and for a better rapper overall. Em is the GOAT for me personally 💯🐐👑
@@lewismason9130 oh def both verse were great to me it was just like since we have heard jay talk about struggle so much that it didn’t do much for my in this song you know but still both bodied that shit so can’t really complain
An absolute masterpiece. Love the breakdown, too!
Please react to Underground by Eminem, its lyrically insane
People don’t realize how crazy Knox Brian is … ( pause no diddy) but the way he breaks down bars and his memory of past hip hop is insane. You can tell he truly knows his hip hop and the real pioneers who came before him.
Please checkout songs from the Relapse era, especially Stay Wide Awake!
This is the best breakdown I’ve ever watched. I learnt a lot from your reaction. Thanks
Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it?
I enjoyed this! Jay and Eminem are brilliant together. Professor of bar's Knox hill! Fantastic reaction, as always
i get chills when i see Eminem pick up the mic i know shit bouta go down
love when u do this stuff can't wait for the new music knox
i think eminem being white introduced hiphop to a lot of people that would’ve never thought about it but his style and him being criticized and being white opened up a whole new road
Knox is the scientist that can break the science down for us all to understand hip hop bars
Two of the best lefty rappers in the game creating an iconic track. So glad you broke down Jay’s verse because for me Jay, Busta Rhymes and Royce are the only rappers who have held their own against Em on their tracks
and Wayne
"Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it...." ...Pockets full of hope" OMG jay verse is soo underrated
When I saw this the first thing I thought of was Nick Cannons flow on one of his 15 diss tracks…. I need this to wipe my mind clear of that obscenity
Em didn’t change any of his lines from the original; so in theory Jay had the answers to the test, but still didn’t get 100%
WHAT! WOW
Hey bro. Love your music and your breakdowns. Just wanted to say that. Much love.
I believe Royce was originally on this song. I’d love to hear his verse included in an extended mix one day.
It’s basically this song and dead wrong mixed
I love how Eminem keeps Royce 5'9's Cadence on Dead Wrong
Knox hill is the only channel where I don't skip the intro. Chaos theory is fire
“You can’t date skills and wife it”
I hear what you saying but he actually did show technical skill with his flow in certain pockets
Can we get a reaction on the song "Believe" off the Revival album.
That lead B roll song was the best song I’ve heard of you so far I love it
Funny thing about Em's verse in this song: everybody, including Nas, obviously, says Em washed Jay in this song, right? Yet when people be talking about his best verse(s), it always seems to be forgotten. Best Friend, deservingly, is always brought up, but never this. In my mind, this is his best.
And, the reason why I do not put Nas on the same level as Jay; the best line in his whole diss was about Em washing him on his own ish...That line won the whole beef for a lot of people. But at least Jay had the cajones to get on a track with Em. Jay=Bull Nas=Steer.
Nas did a song with Eminem so... Your comment is kinda irrelevant now
@@dannybowey1043 True story, and I am so very happy he did! What a day for hip hop! And that one with Lauren Hill!!
@@IvIidnight ...How old are you guys and Nas been did a song with Lauren Hill in the 90s
@@iaintthereyet914 Yes, yes he did. I was just expressing my appreciation for the new one.
@@IvIidnight ...Great! I thought sensed a bit of sarcasm, my bad my guy. Jay said it first that Nas's verse on one his songs was not as good as one of the Bravehearts' verses.
Keep your grind up Knox! Your shit is pretty good bro. You got that technical ability and understanding of music.
Been waiting for this one! Would love to See you react to „Welcome to Hell“ by Bad meets Evil. Love your work!!
It's alright that we cannot hear the original version. We can still enjoy the live band and Jay-Z's vocals. Additionally, how you have edited it gives the impression that you are responding to this live version. Therefore, could you please react to this live version or maybe share your thoughts on other live performances of Eminem?
Love to see a breakdown of dead wrong em and big both doin work
I second this
No one talks about how great his rap is ? How great rapper he is ?
Knoxhill, I wanna see you on big stages. Push it on 2024, you are a scholar. All the luck to you my guy. I’m a fan.
And Em is love.
You're so dope !!
Much love. Thank you!
Same to you!! Keep following your dream I have a feeling you're gonna go far!
Your reactions are fire, much love from Brazil! 🇧🇷
Please do a reaction on *Eminem - Untitled* from his Recovery album.
I always heard the "is he a ladder" line as "is he the latter" as in the second thing, along with the ladder, true double
Epic!! It's like poetic punch in the face !! Great breakdown !!!
Who’s the king of these ludicrous lucrative lyrics. That’s 3 syllable internal to a 5 syllable end rhyme
Who’s the king
Ludicrous
Lucrative lyrics…. 🤯
Just that alone is hard enough. But fluent in a story and through like 20 bars. Em got Jay. But top 5 jay verse of all time
“Who’s the king of these RUDE, ludicrous, lucrative lyrics….” Missed a word there, em dropped in hard on that scheme
Revisiting em reactions bc im missing him sooooo much! The juice world/em track lace it just released. I cannot wait for a new project and REALLY HOPE for a tour!
My respect for JayZ’s verses grew after this
The poetic technique is called enjambment, no clear stops and each sentence runs into the next
How did the reaction not get blocked?
Knox, can you do Marshall Mathers off of MMLP?
Also, could you do m.A.A.d city (ft. MC Eiht)?
Edit: lol now I know why it didn't get blocked haha
I like how knox was questioning if em washed jay at first, but then heard em's verse and was like yep em washed jay
