I completely agree with what you said about people finally being able to join in who couldn't afford other replicas. I've been waiting for something like this for just about 10 years now and I've finally got one arriving next week. Opting for an unscrewable lens was an excellent choice, opens up the possibility of third party lenses that are more accurate which can be fitted by just about anyone.
This is the first review I've seen for this model of Sonic and I'm very happy to see it. I can't wait to get one of these myself. Thank you for being so thorough!
Just bought one today. I'm the kind of person that cares about accuracy to a certain extent, and the finer details aren't a major concern to me, so this is right up my alley. 10 and 11's sonics are my absolute favourites and I've always wanted to have metal versions of both. Got a wand company 10th last year and gave it a metal body upgrade alongside a higher capacity battery replacement. It's got an inaccurate yet gorgeous smokey white crackle paint job, a translucent deep blue strip etc, it's gorgeous, and close enough to the real thing that it satisfies me. Looking forward to receiving this 11th, because it's absolutely fantastic by the look of it. Resembles the original prop very closely but has inaccuracies that essentially serve the purpose of ease of use and affordability, which is too different for some collectors, but with my frankenstein like 10th sonic, I'm perfectly fine with a slightly off 11th if it means I have 2 metal sonics in my possession
Exactly. What they lack in perfect accuracy, they make up for in affordability and funky unique features that no other replica or toy sonic provides This having the toy's sounds plus the shark scanning sound and the 12th having the red and torch modes. No idea where Nawya sprung up from but I'm glad we've got a new Sonic Screwdriver replica maker who fills in a completely new niche of the Doctor Who replica collecting community, a middle ground no one's dared enter, the people like me who can't justify £500+ per Sonic but can spend a couple hundred here or there for highly desirable items, sacrificing perfect 1-1 accuracy for a more or less perfect at a glance replica that saves money by cutting unnecessary detailing or compromising with some cheaper materials/methodologies to get the price point as low as possible. I've been after a metal 11th for YEARS, so to finally have one release just when I've got most of the money for it is wild and I can't quite believe it
After nawya released their metal+plastic 12th I was lying in waiting to see if they released an 11th Doctor version and to my surprise they did! I'm absolutely happy to finally have an affordable replica that is of decent quality.
Great review! It really combines the best attributes of the replicas and toys - affordability, durability, prop replica construction, and some unique features. Finally a solution to counter Rubbertoe's extortionate pricing along with the arrogance of the obnoxious celestial toystore, and the various scalpers online.
Just a heads up I am having to return mine because if you over tight your emitter just even a little bit it causes the emitter to not scre on and if you keep trying to screw it on the class start to fall down
I wasn't ready for how bright torch mode was gonna be. I think instead of the flap at the bottom for the red button, they should have had it hollowed out so you can keep the other colored tips inside.
I got mine today, just to let you guys know that if you’re changing the emitter head often then I suggest you do not tighten it all the way twisting the green core bit because apparently that was the issue
Mine just arrived in the mail. I've turned the switch on, and replaced the battery with new ones, but it still won't light up. Is there something I'm missing?

~£200 sonic vs ~£1200 sonic, gotta keep the manufacturing costs down somehow to make it feasible. I mean you’re saving £1000 and getting the best sonic feature wise to date and the most accurate that you can metal 11th under £500 which is the lowest price point for entry metal replicas to date. Can’t really complain, if you want something flawless, spend the extra £1000 that most people don’t have spare.
@@1927deano on top of this, they've opted to make the lens detachable so it's entirely possible you could just replace it with a more accurate one. Obviously that solely depends on someone making one that fits this sonic but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
@@jack_gryllsi’m sure in no time at all some of the sonic modifiers like the master collector etc will be selling more accurate replacement emitters for it
God I can’t wait for mine, this toes the line between an idealized replica, and the durable toy we all wanted 10 years ago

Love the Christmas Carol "fishing" setting. Pretty exciting how Nawya are adding these completely new functions to their sonics.

15:42 not just that, but you only pay 120$ instead of bloody 1000$ from rubber toe. I love nawya for features and the price
For the price it’s a brilliant sonic I can’t wait for mine to arrive
how much is it?
@@jager9022 eBay has one listed for 160 usd which is extremely cheap compared to the ones made by other replicas that can run you over 500 usd.
Ordered mine as I already have the 12th Doctor one which I love. The usual replicas are a bit too pricey for me so I’m very happy with it!

Couldn't have said it better
I’m definitely saving for this
Good detailed review! 👍
As mentioned, definitely great for the price!

It is not the most accurate, but it is so much more accurate than most toys and the TWC sonic
we see 11s sonic shine blue very briefly in the doctors wife although I doubt an actual blue emitter was used
In some episodes it can look deceptively blue, like a weird teal colour

But I already own the BBC one and the Wii one.
Does it feel sturdy for repeated flicking?
in China,this price is only 110 dollar...所以说如果有能力刻意直接找代购去购买,现在eBay网站上对溢价过分的高,有人专门开高价倒卖这款起子。但这并不是这个设计厂家的初衷

someone needs to make a lightsaber that is doctor who inspired lol they're starting to give me the same vibe.
Yikes they used resin injection molded parts for a metal replica? What a way to bring down the presentation...
isn't this what they used for parts of the original props too?
