    Running a sequence through the Sub37 and twisting some knobs, them jamming over the top of it with a single oscillator and some smooooth glide. The sequence is running through a Ventris Dual Reverb pedal using a combination of the Hall and Offspring algorithms. The Offspring in particular is so unique and hard to describe but adds a whole new layer to the sound.

  • @fuenstock

    Awesome sounds!
    So your able to use 1 osc in the sequence and then the 2nd to play over the sequence? Is this done with the duo mode?
    I ask because I may be purchasing a 37 soon

    • @tomgreenmusic
      @tomgreenmusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you :) in the main video, the Sub37 is in Duo Mode, with oscillator 2 acting sort of like a bass by turning off keyboard tracking and tuning it to the right note (in this case an A). Then if you programme a sequence in, oscillator 1 follows the sequence and plays the notes you programmed, but oscillator two just plays your bass note. You can then program the pitch bend to only affect oscillator 2 and use that to change the note of your bass without affecting your whole sequence! I hope that makes sense!!
      If you do end up going for the Sub37 you won't regret it :)

      Thank you! All the sounds are from the Sub37. There's only two tracks - the main arpeggio-type sound (which is running through the Ventris Dual-Reverb and might be giving it a pad sort of sound?) and the lead.

    • @MrEuki
      @MrEuki 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tomgreenmusic Jup, tends to happen with inspiring gear like the Sub or the Subsequent. I don't always get this, just with certain synths (Neutron) where you can basically just play some notes, tweak some parameters and you're off noodling around for one hour. Happens with the Matriarch every time I turn it on, so I have to be careful there, but to be fair, it's one of the best and most inspiring synths I have owned so far, and I have had a few. However, adding effects to a synth almost always makes it instantly sound more interesting, even if it's just a simple delay or some reverb. However, this Ventris here sounds lush and gorgeous. Expensive, but I might just buy it.
      Interestingly enough, Alicia's Keys, a piano plugin made by Native Instruments, does the same for me, where I am just getting carried away by the sound for some reason, I just find it really inspiring, without even being able to tweak as much as say in a synth.

    Beautiful man. Do you create this on the go? Or you do it by layers on a a software?

    • @tomgreenmusic
      @tomgreenmusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks dude :) The song is 2 layers, the first one is the main sequence which I programmed into the Sub37 and then the second is a simple saw wave and some glide. The knob turning of the first part and melody of the second part were improvised, and everything is recorded into FL Studio for a little bit of fine tuning (sometimes panning, sometimes a little EQ, varies by song!).

  • @billtrantos19
    @billtrantos19 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry for the "newbie" question. How did you create the underlying layer? It sounds like some kind of pad, is it the Ventris into the sequence alone, or you recorded a seperate pad track?

    • @tomgreenmusic
      @tomgreenmusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The underlying layer comes from the Ventris - it's in dual reverb mode with the first reverb in the E-dome mode (essentially a massive sounding, long lasting reverb) and the second using this really cool algorithm they have called "Offspring", which gives notes the cascading delay sort of effect that you can hear!
