    Buy the RC Ripsaw EV2 here:
    www.banggood.com/SG-1203-112-...
    Unboxing here: • [Awesome] $50 RC Ripsa...
    This is an RC Version of the Ripsaw EV2 Luxury Super Tank! If you have $1000 spare you can buy the Pig Studio RipSaw Tank, but if not, this cheap Ripsaw is a very cheap alternative. It's fun and goes well on all the terrain I've tested it on! I'm going to upgrade the Ripsaw and make it faster. But out the box it's ready to go, and you'll have a lot of fun with it.
    The Cheapest Super Tank you can buy! Lets hope they bring out an EV3-f1, EV3-f2 or Ev3-f4! Or even the Ripsaw M5!

    Just to clarify. I mention ‘Reseting’ it, by this I mean removing the battery and leaving it for about 10s. There is no ‘reset’ button or switch.

      makes me wonder if its just getting hot then not functioning right... there IS possibly a cheap simple solution, wiring in a BIG final transistor to the board's motor outputs so the stock board is only working as the "pre-amp" section. newer little "all in one" receiver ESC boards do use tiny surface mount chips, doesn't matter, they'll still act as controller to the high output transistors and they won't get heated up doing it.
      if you can do it cool, if you cant but got a local buddy who can, hit him up! definitely let old BangGoodies know about the issue, hopefully the next batch won't have the same issue (don't tell them you bumped up to a LiPo cell haha)

      It happen to my tank also. It always tend to be in full forward throttle everytime I pull the trigger nether battery pull out for 10 seconds or connected. Don't know how to bring the proportional forward back.

      You should install your own esc and radio gear phil couple of cheap brushed speedos and a vtail mixer coupled to a flysky gt3b would do the job pretty much what i did to a nikko velocatrax great video bud

  • @Del350K4
    @Del350K4 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Your LiPo conversion and waterproofing have transformed this tank - I hope the manufacturers see your video and think "Hmm - let´s do it", because the drive train can take the extra torque and the increased speed makes a big difference too, while the waterproofing adds a whole world of extra play value to this product.
    Perhaps they made the vehicle so light at the front deliberately, so it never face-plants, but the cost in terms of climbing ability is very high. I´d put a weight in mine, and fill the left over space up front with flotation material, myself.

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The next step for this is to try and get some better electronics, I'm not sure if 2 ESC's (1 steering 1 drive) will work, but if it does, it will be made fully amphibious, with some paddles added to the rear drive wheels....and possibly something else added for propulsion :)

    Before you use the spray you could put dielectric grease on the connection points that would both waterproof them and keep the spray out of them

    Phil, my son was in the Cdn military for 5 yrs & attended a sales pitch for the 1:1 Ripsaw. In terms of practical military purposes he laughed so hard he could hardly drive home. It’s touted as an advance-warning, scouting vehicle yet it's so noisy you'd alert the next county. It also offers such minimal protection you'd have to ask for volunteers to drive the thing to the store for bullets. (Although I believe Joe took some sort of tank into a McD's drive thru once)

    • @TomleyRC

    • @louisarius9672

  • @chrishorst1318
    @chrishorst1318 ปีที่แล้ว

    The easiest change to make i have seen is cutting the plastic tabs in battery bay to enable most fwd placement of batt. possible to reduce its frontal kick up upon accelerating.
    Also i bought the aluminum bod. Version which adds more weight to reduce frontal kick up and and overall tippiness.
    One more mod ive seen that will help it swim is adding larger tabs/paddles to tracks; every 2 or 3 squares.

    • @BrokenSmokinSpokes
      @BrokenSmokinSpokes ปีที่แล้ว

      Aluminum body one? where do you get / which one is that? I see there is a white one, grey one (i have), german camo one, and currently a really cheap (46$) dollar one that has a engine in the bed that when you press a button on the radio it shoots out a mist.... Other then those four I don't see a aluminum body one? I would really want one.

    Have you tested the metal track one yet? I'll be ordering one soon, hopefully the metal evens out the CofG so it's not so jumpy at the front.

    • @DFDuck55
      @DFDuck55 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As easy as the body comes apart it wouldn't be a big deal to add some weight in the front.

    • @aarongray3573
      @aarongray3573 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you get metal tracks, you need to make sure to also get metal gears. The metal tracks will wreck the nylon gearing.
      Edit: Holy crap, just realized this was a two year old video and comment. Oh well, maybe someone will still find my comment useful.
