I think this is about the pandemic, and this song was one of the many that helped me throug those times. Ive thought about how if i ever have kids (or my relatives/friends do), i could show them this song to communicate the specific feeling of longing and caution during the pandemic and how deep those feelings were. Focusing on the small things in life "i keeo my eyes to the ground, flowers sprout of from the side walk, and i think of you". For your own mentak health you had to keep your head down, not focus on the news everyday, and stay safe. So on your lonely walks youd notice a flower, something natural and beautiful, breaking through the rough gray of the cement (life, especially the dreary life during the plague), and you think of the one you love/yearn for, it puts things into perspective and all you desire is for that person to be at your side while you both bunker down and wait for the disaster to pass.
