Why do you not have a water tray for your hot water tank???
Never heard of a water tray for a hot water tank but if it ever leaks it will be changed asap.
Thank you, I'd like to remove mine..been 30 years, cannot counterwise the screws. Any suggestions for removal? Thanks again.
The metal looks like brass or another type of weak metal so I would get some side cutters or snips and destroy the old one and take it out in pieces.

Luckily I haven't had any backflow but it all seems fine.
The floater came off on mine and fell into the pit. Hope there was something better than this junk.
