    THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH! ❤️❤️❤️You both answered all my questions beautifully and thank you for all your kind words! Fun fact: I’m due to have my second child any day now (!!!) so I look forward to using this routine in the months to come and giving Vichy a try 🥰 Also, so happy to see Dr. Nina Desai and hear her feedback as I absolutely love her 🙌🏾 Thank you so much, Susan! ❤️❤️❤️

    When she started saying all those chemical names with such fluidity -- Get it Girl ! I'm from Barbados, and our doctors/dermatologists use compounding ( didnt know that was what it was called) and we used the CeraVe moisturising cream - well I get that one a lot. From the time I was a child since I had a few skin issues, the compounded / added ( idk which term to use) the cream with urea and other ingredients. I remember thinking urea - like pee? L O L but apparently it has some benefits

    I wish they educated us on the importance of diet. All of these topical solutions are just one big bandaid. Acne comes from within! The toxins in your liver come out through your skin because it is the largest organ in the body. All of your hormones even endorphins in your brain are filtered out through your liver. So the real key to clear skin is to be clean within and that starts with detoxing from any dirty foods and heavy metals in your body.
    I’ve struggled with acne my entire life (on and off birth control and retin A for the past 6 years) only thing that kept my skin clear and fine line free is my diet and supplements .!

    • @mau5teps
      @mau5teps 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have any scientific studies to back up your claims? The toxins from liver are peed out, definitely don't detoxify trough skin. Acne definitely can come from within, but it's an issue of androgen driven excess oil production and dead skin cells blocking the pore opening, not toxins.

    Cerave is know for causing bumps for anyone who gets clogged pores,same with cethaphil. Those small irritated texture bumps could be from them.that oul cleanser would be so hard to clean from pores.

  • @josefinaedlund2738

    But i don’t get it, if i get a major pimple, big, irritated, hurts, if i pop it it stops hurting and has gone down by the next day, but if i dont pick the pimples they stay so much longer and continues to hurt?

      Maybe it's a different type of breakout and a different skin type, if I mess with my skin it gets worse and is slow to heal and even if I have a pimple with a whitehead it doesn't pop without breaking the skin around it badly no matter how long I wait.

    I have been using retina for a little less than a year and I had finally gotten to a pint where my skin looked amazing! I started off with 0.25% and hydroquinone since I had bad melasma after I had my youngest, and it was great. Then I got bumped up to 0.5% and it’s been great until last month. I always break out around my jaw/chin around that time of month because my acne was already hormonal, but the last two months I’ve been breaking out even when I’m not on my menstrual period so I don’t know what’s going on? Do I need to see my Dr again? Hellppppppppp. 😫

    • @hotlikesauce
      @hotlikesauce 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      if you haven’t changed anything externally such as your skincare routine, check internally, i don’t mean any disrespect at all! with lockdown, my eating habits / physical activity hasnt been the greatest & my skin started to expose that. hydroquinone is also something that shouldn’t be consistently used from what my derm colleagues have agreed on. in *most* cases half year on / half year off. definitely check back with your Dr & ask about tretinoin ☺️

    • @anfalahmed1935
      @anfalahmed1935 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with the above comment! It might be something else other than your routine especially when you haven’t changed anything. So adding to that, possibly the mask wearing could be the cause too? Even people who aren’t acne prone are getting breakouts around the chin/jaw area because of that. I hope you figure it out💖

    • @jenlauren143
      @jenlauren143 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anfalahmed1935 yes I totally agree with you. I haven’t changed my eating habits, if anything I’m drinking more water. I also do think the mask might attribute to it as well. 😫☺️

    • @jenlauren143
      @jenlauren143 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hotlikesauce I haven’t changed my eating habits or anything like that. I have only been using the Hydroquinone for a certain amount of time then my Dr did tell me to stop using after I think 6 months. I’m guessing maybe stress could be a factor but I’m not sure. Thanks for the advice! ☺️

    • @cv7958

      You may have disrupted the moisture barrier which makes bacteria easier to get into the skin but it could also be hormonal. Hormones are constantly changing especially after you’ve had kids.
