Hello! I found a 17 year old conk this week! It is GIANT and I harvested it for canvas but I found it deep in the oregon woods and it is amazing!

Hi I enjoyed your info on this. Do you have videos on how to make tincture? Thank you

Thank you. We can make one some time. At the moment, we're dealing with the Hurricane Fiona disaster.

Hi Cliff :) can I ask, how do you make the tea out of Ganaderma?

I have seen it ground like coffee, but I slice it very thin and steep it. It's hard as wood so it's really more carving shavings off of it.

Thank you for your reply Cliff, I sliced mine up too & now it's drying😍these mushrooms are the "tresures of the woods"

Ive just taken pieces of the mushroom and chewed on it for a while. Its very bitter, but a little sweet and medicinal tasting. Its very intense, and I can only chew on it for about 5 minutes, but its obvious why its medicine.

Do you have any info on ganoderma brownii? Can that be a usable mushroom? It is also called artist conk but they are two different species. It is the columnar form of applanatum.

I don't have any direct experience with West Coast fungi, but you might find this article interesting: www.journalijar.com/uploads/489_IJAR-3317.pdf

Thank you! I have Ganoderma brownii. I would think this is medicinal / good for tea as well? I hear it' may be interchangeable?

Hey... what's the right time to harvest...I found one today on a tree trunk...but it's still while not brown...when should I take this out for making tea of it...?

Sorry, playing catch up on messages I did not see in the notifications. Any time is good, so long as they are not riddled with vermin.

Summer or even better, late Autumn. All ages of Artist's have the pure white underside. Sounds like you found a very young one. Oh...4 years ago

Cliff, what you didn't say was which part of the conk is harvested for the tea? Is it only the fresh young bits or can older conks also be used. Thanks, Blair

@@AdhityaPSingh You can harvest them all years around. There is no wrong time or right time to harvest them. Usually mushroom hunting season in fall. But these mushrooms you can harvest anytime.

      Ok...Thanks for you reply...
But now I skeptical that the one have notice is Ganoderma...coz it's back side is not white...I wish somehow I could show you the pictures...and confirm...

@@AdhityaPSingh join a local/ international mushroom group on social media & send those pictures in! that's how I've been able to get some direction for my findings. not ideal as a 100% accurate source, but a great starting point
